does communication skills in english matter?
ajeeb sa complex hai logon ko english ka le kar.
so what if some actors don't have good english or have paindu accents or pronounciations. they work in urdu language dramas and what should matter is their urdu diction and accent. people ask why an actor playing a rich person not speaking with a posh accent but what about why the hell this middle or lower class character is rolling their rs in urdu or not sounding authentic to the neighborhood/city, we never ask?
also english is typically not most people's first language (sometimes it is their third language after the regional language and urdu). in hw, actors like selma hayek, sofia vargra, antonio banderas, javier bardem, penelope cruz have really strong accents and don't necessarily pronounce english words correctly. yet i have not seen people criticizing them, shaming them or trolling them.
in fact, what's this obsession with actors' offscreen communication skills. imean it's a good thing to have but is not a job requirement. in hw, people who are most fun and charismatic on talk show circuit are not necessarily the best actors. joaquin phoenix is a great actor but has terrible communication skills. if rajni kanth or prabhas doesn't have the gift of the gab like srk, does it make them less of a superstar. sri devi could barely talk in ivs in her heyday but churned out great performances.
only in ptv i see this obsession with equating stardom and talent to offscreen communication skills in english. actors are not beauty pageant contestants or politicians or emcess who need to be able to have excellent oration skills or ability to speak fluent english.
