So now Windies have out done UAE quite comprehensively so this game is a must win for Pakistan to proceed to knockouts.
So far, Pakistan are doing good..Bowling has been a plus point for Pakistan.

Ireland 237 All out in 50 overs.
Pakistan need 238.. Difficult for Pakistani team standard (playing 2nd) but still gettable.. keeping my fingers crossed.

There was no way Pak was going to lose this one unless they self destructed. Pak vs Aus will be a real big challenge. It is perhaps the toughest QF game compared to the others...bbut I will be happy if we put up a great fight regardless of the outcome. I don't want them handing it to Australia...& if they win, they deserve to win the cup.

what a convincing win.. now the bigger challenge..Team Australia.. I really hope they put a good fight, it shouldn't be a one sided game unless Pakistan is on winning side 😆

Pakistan's fielding was sloppy though. A few dropped catches and comical dives. 😆 Our fielding needs to be top notch vs Australia though. They're beastly in every format. I honestly feel we can beat them. There was a time when Australia were really unbeatable (when they had Gilchrist, Ponting, McGrath etc) but they're not that same team anymore. They can lose..it just depends how Pakistan play on that day...but if we do win (Insha Allah)..I'll say there's no stopping us. It takes a lot of character to beat Aus in Aus.

I just hope Afridi fires. He bowled well today even though he didn't get a wicket. He said he's going to retire after this world cup (Friday MAY just be his last game)..and I'd like to see Afridi really boost his game.

Afridi is more or less our last superstar in this team (I don't think you can count Younis/Misbah in the same league of stardom as Afridi). I will miss him once he retires even though I have this love/hate relationship with him as a player. 😭

Oh yes.. He is going to be missed greatly even by his criticizers. And to found a replacement for him is going to be even tougher task. Pakistan is already short of all rounders.
I was just thinking what would our ODI team be after world cup. Younis was more or less out even before world cup. Afridi and Misbah won't be there either. Hafeez would come back so probably he would be the captain again?

Maybe Hafeez..or Shoaib Malik may come back.. who knows? 😆 Realistically, no one looks like captaincy material. I'm not too fond of Misbah's captaincy either. And you are right..we are very short of allrounders. Otherwise, let's be honest..if there was a genuinely good allrounder sitting on the bench, Afridi may have been out a few yrs back...he isn't the most consistent of players..but, we never really had genuine good all rounder in the past few years. Razzaq was good on his days but then his bowling just became ineffective. I personally liked his batting more than Afridi's. It didn't give me as much of anxiety. 😆 With Afridi, it's like everyone has come and gone..but he has always been playing for Pakistan regardless of his (inconsisten) form etc. 😆

^Its been his charisma I would say.. He wasn't even a great player to begin with. I like his bowling more than batting.He was in pretty decent form in WC 2011 I remember. He was the highest wicket taker along with Zaheer Khan.
I agree with you.. none of the player in current team is captain material. And I actually don't want Shoaib Malik to make a come back in the side. He and Hafeez more or less serve the same purpose and now you have Haris Sohail who can be a part time bowler and take a wicket or two..
