My second favorite scene includes a conversation between Othoi and Shayan. Othoi met Shayan at a shopping mall where Nazifa introduced them to each other. There he bought Ariana (Nazifa’s daughter) a bird which led to chaos. So Shayan put on a lot of effort to persuade Nazifa and calm her down. He even tracked down Othoi’s phone number using his contacts as she had mentioned her name and that she was a first year law student at a particular varsity.

Moving on, Shayan drops Nazifa at her home when there was much chaos and she had no other option than taking his lift. So Othoi sees him outside their building and casually starts a conversation after which she becomes serious and tells him that she had never seen Nazifa to let any man come near her after Mitul’s death. And she has struggled a lot in her life. So Shayan should think carefully if it’s only infatuation for him or not because ultimately, if he takes his step back, Nazifa would be hurt.

I loved this scene absolutely because this is where they had first focused on the matured and observant side of Othoi. Plus, even though she is a young adult with too much enthusiasm, she wasn’t just introduced as a third angle or a nonsense wing-man but someone who really loved Nazifa and actually treated her as her elder sister.

Third scene included Shayan’s monologue. It’s not that I just loved this scene when it played out but I think I can actually include it in the most impactful scenes of these 34 episodes. The scene took place the next day after Othoi had asked him to be careful regarding Nazifa.

He was in his cabin and imagined Nazifa in front of him. So he said, he was worried about what to tell her. Upon asking why, he said he wasn’t as complicated as her. He led a free and careful life in London. He had liked multiple girls there, befriended them. He was even in a relationship and then broke up with the girl but they were still friends with each other.

The response from imaginary Nazifa was hilarious - Did you want to narrate your western love story in front of me? 🤪

So he said, he was unsure of his feelings at that moment. He was fearful that if someday, he stopped loving Nazifa then he would be okay but she would suffer as she can’t let go off her loved ones.

I loved this scene because once again it was completely different from what we see usually. Like a boy having this much of clarity and then again daring to proclaim that it may not be eternal. He may fall out of love someday. I think this was among the actor’s best shots in the drama series too. The not so OTT BGM, the dialogue delivery and his eyes and the genuine confession – I was in awe. I guess, this is the scene where I fell in love with his character.

Wanted to share the scene. 😛

The monologue took place between 18:07 to 21:12

Coming to my fourth favorite scene, this too included a conversation between Othoi and Shayan.

However, it had a backstory. After imagining Nazifa in his office, Shayan actually felt feverish and he needed to clear his mind. So at night, he called Othoi for a friendly chat. And as usual, Othoi was playfully flirting with him while hinting him that he should clear his mind and approach Nazifa.

Coincidentally, Nazifa was with Othoi at that time and once she cut the call, Othoi directly told her that she was just a messenger between Nazifa and Shayan and that he was falling for her.

But Nazifa was confused. On one hand, she was confused whether it was true or not and on the other hand she was concerned for Othoi because she feared that even though she was being playful, what if Othoi actually starts falling for Shayan someday considering the guy was perfect and she was too young?

So the next day, she tries to talk with Shayan and even though her intention was good, the words she chose, it sounded like she was dreading the possibility that Shayan might exploit Othoi.

Earlier Shayan had decided to ask Nazifa on a date to clear everything between them but after this conversation, he got really mad and left his office and later met Othoi.

So this conversation again brought out the sensible side of Othoi. She was totally taken aback and embarrassed when Shayan asked her that if he had been indecent and she was like – what the hell are you talking about? I told her you love her! So felt really bad for Othoi in this scene. 🤔

This is where for the first time she tells Shayan about Nazifa’s tiff with her father and how she is a super stubborn person and unfortunately hurts the people who love her the most. The awkwardness and reality hitting both of Othoi and Shayan is the reason I loved this scene.

Coming to my most favorite scene………

Due to some family problem, Nazifa left the office. Unfortunately, It took place on the same day when she had accused Shayan of exploiting Othoi. So when he had returned to office and saw the front desk empty, he got super pissed.

Nazifa already had a bad reputation that sometimes she came late and left the office suddenly and gave excuses stating family problem. An HR employee who liked Shayan, added fuel to the fire and said that Nazifa hadn’t reported anything to HR and Shayan lost it. For the first time, he lashed out at the employees there and asked the HR to follow a strict protocol and that he would start cutting salary if employees had shown such casual attitude. Upon returning, when Nazifa heard this, even she lashed out saying she would rather quit such a job that wouldn’t allow her to attend her family in need and Shayan heard it.

So the original scene took place the next day.

She went to Shayan's cabin and said that she had an application. When Shayan asked for the paper, she says that she had to talk with him in person and he had to listen to her carefully. It’s more like – Mujhe aap ko muh se batana hain aur aap ko dil se sun na hain.

Then she explained that her mother had faked some serious illness and when she had received the news, in the heat of the moment, without informing anyone, she left the office the previous day and he replied that he wouldn't cut her salary.

Then again she said that she had one more application which he had to consider from heart and apologized saying in her attempt to protect Othoi, she had used some inappropriate words for him and she was sorry for that. She didn't mean anything and was well aware that he was a decent guy but right at that moment her words hinted otherwise and it was unintentional. So she was sorry for her blunder.

Then Shayan said clearly that it was strange that both the sisters had the same intention - to protect each other. He clarified that Othoi was rather fearful that he might try to take advantage of Nazifa and later throw her away. When Nazifa replied that Othoi had mentioned it to her too then Shayan asked her to look at his state. What was his fault in all these if the sisters were concerned about each other? Was he the worst guy in this world that every girl would be be scared of him?

So Nazifa again apologized to him saying it was their fault and Shayan pointed out that the way she had considered Othoi as naïve and felt that she might falter – it was embarrassing for her too and she was really annoyed at Nazifa for this reason. So Nazifa better apologize to her also.

After that, Nazifa replied that Othoi was her little sister and she would convince her one way or another. But she hurt him and would do anything to make it up to him if he was willing to give her a second chance and it was within her reach.

So Shayan said that he knew whenever any other officer had asked her on a dinner, she had declined. So he wouldn’t make it awkward for her. Rather she should invite him to somewhere where she feels safe and then he would decide.

So she replied that once she got her salary, she would.

The reason I love this scene the most is because of the acting by both the actors. The awkwardness in Nazifa and the surprise she received upon knowing that despite having the most perfect excuse, Shayan had let her decide whether she would invite him or not and did not make it awkward for her – the actress brought out all the emotions perfectly.

And Shayan, I can honestly say after Ben and Link I am seeing the third male character who is decent to this extent.

While we watch in typical shows that MLs lash out at the most insignificant issues and keep stretching the matter, here he actually said, the sisters were trying to look out for each other but the ultimate accusation was coming to his way as if he was the worst male in this planet who would take advantage of any girl. Did he really behave in that way?

The way he handled the entire situation, showed his annoyance while staying in his limit and made sure that Nazifa was comfortable – I was like wow! ☺️ ☺️ ☺️

Another reason this scene is extra special to me because in between everything, Othoi wasn't disregarded. Without any fault of hers, she got scolded by Shayan the other day and was horribly embarrassed. So the fact that Shayan took her name first and urged Nazifa to say sorry to her first - I loved him for that and the makers for not hiding it under the rug to highlight the protagonists.

This is another scene I had to share despite it being Bengali. 😛 The scene took place from 4:07 to 9:32.

In the sequence, Shayan heard a conversation between Nazifa and their GM that how he kept on putting extra pressure on her for rejecting his advances. So in his cabin he asks him politely that even though it was unintentional, he heard their conversation and harassment at workplace is a serious accusation. He had a flourishing career. So if suddenly any girl files a complaint it would be bad for him and that he should apologize.

I loved this scene because of the subtlety and non-violent way they chose here. I don’t know what the makers had planned for the upcoming episodes but I loved the fact that they didn’t choose the dramatic, filmy way where the creepy manager would try to molest the heroine and hero would barge in there and save the day.

I guess it’s one of the reasons that right now I am in love with this character. He is everything that we wish to see in a character – someone who observes and hardly loses calm, someone who is free spirited yet sensitive.

Hmmm... This is really an interesting scene. I'll take one topic at a time...

I actually like it when issues such as se**al harrasment and other such topics are raised in the shows...and that too in such a great manner.

In fact, I do remember a few years ago, a show used to come on DD National. I don't remember the name but yes, it focused on the plight of girls. They showed the story of a particular village where there is a dearth of girls as most of the girls are killed even before they are born. And the girls of poor families are bought by the rich families for a considerable amount of money only for the purpose of giving birth to a male child.

I was actually impressed by that topic...

Khair, coming back to this...

I am actually impressed that they showed the guy, Shayan talks very politely and asks the GM to apologise pointing out that harrasment at workplace is a serious accusation and that they did not make it over dramatic and made Shayan lash out at him in a typical filmy way in front of the entire official staff.

You know what, after reading all this, even I have started falling in love with this character...

Wow! The topic was really powerful. 👏 We may say we have come a long way and economically we have progressed but there are still a lot of regions in our countries where people still have barbaric approach towards female child.

You can't believe the types of news get published on newspaper regarding this and keep wondering how can one person inflict so much pain to others, let alone their own child. 😭 😭 😭

About DD, it's a shame that their shows don't get the recognition they deserve and people are bothered about multiple marriages and cute crying.

Well, now I'll say something paradoxical. 😆

You see, in recent times there have been incidents - horribly cruel and honestly if they had shown the GM along with others gang ra**ng Nazifa, in today's light, even that wouldn't be unrealistic. Such a shame that we have come to this point where mol****tion has become so easy. 😭 😭 😭

But then again, there are countless women who face se**al harassment at office, at public transport, even at their home. So in a sense I liked that they pointed towards that direction.

The types of words the GM chose for Nazifa, it creeped me out.

Now, I do hate sequences where they shove the BECHARIPAAN up our faces and technically those two episodes I disliked a lot. But the intention was clear - to make the girl work more knowing fully that she won't be able to do that at that hour for resource constraint and then taunting her over her incapability and let's not forget other crass words. 🤢

About Shayan, his weakness was that he had no past experience. So he was dependent on the GM. And even if he was a pro, you can't deny the fact that there's a hierarchy at workplace and you can't just barge in and start firing people who are at the topmost level.

So he was rather strategic and made it clear that on his watch, the GM can't harass the female workers.

In fact, when he did apologize, Nazifa asked Shayan personally that if he had asked the GM to do it or not and he said, it was impolite to reveal his conversation with one employee to another. So Nazifa smiled and said the GM would never say sorry to her unless he was forced to and he was making it really difficult for her to work at that office. So she was thankful to him.

So that was another thing I liked about his authority. He didn't show it off. Whatever he did, it got noticed. In fact there was a funny dialogue that Nazifa imagined Mitul and he was like - Mere marne ke 8 saal tak tumne kisi ko nahi dekha. Pehli bar tumne kisi ko notice kiya. Manna padega, Barrister Sahab ke karishma hain!!! 😆

You know what, after reading all this, even I have started falling in love with this character...

Yeah... The topic is indeed really powerful. We may have come a long way and progressed economically but still, there are a lot of regions where people have a barbaric approach towards females.

In fact, in this show, there was actually a complex plot. It was a plot of two villages. One, where people used to buy DILs for their sons and the other where the poor families were forced to sell their daughters. The second village's zamindar was the one who did all this for his own benefit. He reaped benefits from both sides. On one hand, he took money from the groom side (buyers) for showing them the girls and then, when they paid money to the girl's family, that money also came to him cos the families that he chose were mainly the ones who owed him money.

In fact, the ML who got married to the FL was also against this practice but since he was the youngest son of his family, his voice was always subdued. Plus he did not have much confidence on himself.

During the first night after the so-called wedding, the FL berated him for whatever happened and he simply left the room without saying a single word and did not even come near the FL till she wished. In fact, he did not even share the same room with her as per her wishes.

It was the FL and the parallel ML who was that zamindar's son wo revolted against this and got him punished for his deeds.

About DD, it's a shame that their shows don't get the recognition they deserve and people are bothered about multiple marriages and cute crying.

I agree... If I exclude a handful of shows, most of the shows have been awesome and have perfectly depicted different issues and struck a chord with the viewers.

Agree completely with you... 🤗

That's nice! The plot resembles Ganga Ki Dheej. Only there Pakhi was subdued and Agantuk was stronger.

Great!!!

Impressive...

Yeah it was. In fact, he came to the office on that particular day when Becharipaan was shoved all over our faces. The girl was exhausted and almost cried and he offered her a handcarchief. And he had a dialogue like - he read somewhere that a gentleman should always carry a handcarchief because someday, he might have to offer that to some lady for wiping her tears. He had been carrying it for 5 years and finally got a chance.

So the next day when Nazifa realized Shayan had made GM apologize, she indirectly thanked him saying, it was hard to find a proper gentleman who carries a handkerchief these days.

And the dialogue is indeed funny 😆

A lot of the dialogues of the imaginary Mitul is hilarious. Like before going to the dinner, she sees him again and he is like - After 8 years you are going on a date. And Nazifa is like - It's only dinner not a date and then he says again - Why are you arguing? It's a really sweet incident.

See, this is another thing I was discussing with Madhura the other day. We should not categorize feelings or gestures.

With Mitul, they showed Nazifa's playful side, her yearning for him and vulnerability.

Whereas with Shayan, she is awkward yet acknowledges that he is a great guy. When he complained her or did something sweet, she did feel happy which turned into guilt soon enough because of her fear that she was being selfish.

But she had chemistry with both the actors. So how do you define whom does she like and what falls under romance?

Yup... It's somewhat similar.

And the parallel lead's wife was a temporary negative character and the husband finally after a lot of efforts made her mend her ways and turn a new leaf.

Great!!!

Yeah... 😊

In fact, there was one more show about bonded labour. So, there was one couple... One day, they came across a couple who were bonded labourers and wished to save their daughter who was an infant from this bonded labour. The labourer couple requested for help and this couple, took their daughter and raised her as their own. Educated her and finally she cracked the UPSC exams. That girl later on became the SDM of that village and then her struggle to end the practice of bonded labour was shown.

Interesting...

Sometimes becharipan is shoved in our faces. Sorry for bringing in CID yet again but there too was one particular sequence where this becharipan was thrown in. And it was among those episodes that I hate the most.

Now I am thinking about Uddan. However, being a MB show, I have doubt how much authenticity was there because NK taught me a lesson for a life time. 😒

Me too! Although in the YouTube comment section I saw some people felt uneasy that they were constantly showing a dead person and not to mention thodi bohot romance jo bhi dikhaya, unme se 80% to imaginary tha jinme se 60% belonged to Nazifa and Mitul.

But ha, Mitul's dialogues were hilarious. The best one was when Nazifa imagined him for the first time. She was thinking about the day when he died and she was busy with the kid and didn't see his face for the last time. So she was sad and wondering how he must have looked at that moment.

So at night, Patidev Ji marks his entry and mocks her saying -

Tum ajeeb ho. 8 saal tak mere bare mein soch te rahe. Aur ab jab kuch aur bacha nahi, tab soch rahi ho marne se pehle main Kaisa dikh raha tha! Dekh lo! Jee bhar ke dekh lo! Mera muh abhi bhi utna hi fula hua hain jitna pehle din tha!

Not to mention he diagnosed her saying someday she might develop schizophrenia if she doesn't stop her madness and the girl was like, as long as I can see you, it's okay. 🤦‍♀️
