Hello people!
We're back with another theme after that week long gap.
We realize it's not Sunday but we thought since we skipped the last one, posting this one early would make up for it.
Then we realized there needn't have been a gap at all since this theme was just the logical and obvious segue to the music one!
Since music and dance go hand-in-hand! They complement each other. When you hear a joyful, vibrant piece of music it makes you want to break into a dance. Conversely, when you feel like dancing, it feels empty doing so without music as accompaniment.
This week, let's celebrate Dance as a Theme.
Mind you, we're NOT posting songs that are dance numbers, or just songs with good beats that qualify as Dance music.
We already have several threads for those.
The LYRICS need to mention 'Dance' or 'Dancing' or 'moving' to a beat or a rhythm in some way.
They can also mention any form of dance: Twist, Jig, Reel, waltz, Disco, Break dance, Boogie, swing, cha-cha-cha, ballroom, Samba, Salsa...anything at all.
In Hindi, you can look for songs that mention Naach, naachna, Naacho, Nachaana (to make someone dance) or variations/ synonyms of these.
The word/s can appear anywhere in the song: make sure you post the part of the lyrics that it appears in so we know how it fits the theme.
We will also allow songs with lyrics that mention bols or taals used in dance, esp Indian forms of dance. Eg: taakita dhimi, chanana choom, cham cham, jhan jhanan, etc.
But the lyrics need to have a mention of the type of dance or just the word dance - it's not enough to simply post a video of people dancing to a song or post songs that you think qualify as dance numbers.
Please check the examples I have posted for more clarity on what is allowed.
The following rules will apply
- Songs of any language, any genre, any era are welcome.
- The lyrics need to have DANCE or ANY FORM OF DANCE mentioned in them. If the title of the song does not have a mention, please post the part of the lyric that does so we know how it fits the theme.
- If you're posting in a language other than English or Hindi, please give a rough translation of the part of the lyric that pertains to the theme (does not need to be the entire song)
- Do not make more than 5 posts at a time and give others a chance to post too.
- Try not to repeat songs (refer to the posted songs' list on Page 1 that I'll keep updated from time to time)
- It would be wonderful if you included credits to the people behind the song.
- Any songs with extreme themes or adult content can be posted under the 'Mature post' option and you can also mention a Trigger warning in your post.
Let's get those feet (& fingers) moving and pay our tribute to DANCE!
