Superb tenacity on this continual writing for every week - Too good.
The serial folks should make it like a book and release it with HOME DVD version, if such a thing is possible.

Thanks Shyamala di for the detailed synopsis of last week. Just loved it. You have presented all the points so beautifully.

Rudra - MB - Love their chemistry together. She guides him on the right path so well. A Guru who knows his pupil well his greatness as well as his weakness would guide him in the right manner wherever needed. Loved the last episode where he is impressed by her but she still guides him that he has to see the truth as is and not how he may want it to be. The way she goes about guiding him and the dialogues used for the same is awesome.

You are right in that Dansh's overconfidence and arrogance are the very traits that would lead to his downfall. But as the saying goes vinash kalay vipreet buddhi. The only hint of vulnerability as seen with Leela. The question is does Leela really not know about the whole Naga - Garud story or is there some more to it. Guess we will know soon.

The other Garuds need to come into themselves as you have rightly listed out, lets see if they would get to know about their powers this week or not. But one good thing is they all are with Rudra with or without his knowledge.

Shivanand as you said is learned but not practically proactive. If he had been then the story would have been something else. The precap shows him to be lucid enough to answer back Dansh. Whats the reason, has the poisoning stopped or has he found a way around it.

The Veshes and Greyerson seem superfuous now but I still feel Greyerson may have some hold on Katherine even knowing that she has sided with the Garud camp.

Shyamalaji,

You described everything so well. Especially, that scene between Rudra and Maimui. I don't think I can say anything more on that. And all others' comments too were superb.

Regarding Saraswati, it could be the knowledge that's within and has to come out, it could mean Shivanand, could mean River Saraswati in the kund.(this is very much much tied to mission Amrit).pp Lots of possibilities. Its all there. But has to come out.

Lupt or vilupt ek hi tho baat hai. Both mean the same.

Fabulously written detailed analysis Shymaladi

Hope you are feeling better this week... I look forward to your posts to understand the finer details and subtle points that I miss at times 😆...Loving the calm and in control Rudra and MB but I do wish that the other Garuds will be given some importance and distinct roles to play too...Amd I miss Shivanand! Want him back in action soon...as for Dansh...no comments...don't like his character at all...he is no match for Rudra at all...no depth!

Looking forward to mire action and the revelation of the Saraswati Kund raaz...

Take care

well, after last week, i am happy to see the unfortunate events of mr. greyersons life during his stay in mahakumbh. i am also overwhelmed by bhairavi protecting katherine, you said that she was copying kamala haasan but she looked like maa durga with trishul and her wisdom is definately from saraswati herself. other events were awesome too, exept, dansssh, he is behaving like tarakasur of dkdm, he is full of hot air. rudra has progressed a lot too. let's see what happens next.

I did not say she was copying Kamalahaasan, Arijit, I said she looked like him as she whirled her staff till it could no longer be seen. That move is typical of the Tamil silambu style of fighting, and Kamalahaasan invariably used it in his rustic roles. To me she looked exactly like him in those roles, facing a whole bunch of thugs single-handedly, and even the sound of the whirling silambam was the same.

But why should you not see her as Maa Durga? That is the fascination of any good work of art - be it a book or a film. It says different things to different people.

My dear Sri,

Thanks a million for all those extra Os!

You have hit the nail on the head, for "tenacity" is what it is. Come Friday and Saturday, I always wonder if I can skip it this time, for it is tough, even when it is typed out in instalments, and I simply cannot be brief. But then, though I do not flatter myself unduly, I know that at least a dozen readers will be disappointed if I bunk it, so I cannot.

Sunday mornings, I face this thing, like undone homework, but then once I start, it sort of writes itself, of course with many breaks. And when I have put it up, it is sheer relief, and I tell myself, now I do not need to think of a new post for another week!😉

Our Home DVDs have the film/show, the scene selection and the song selection, and that is it. I once suggested to Ashutosh Gowarikar, whom I got to know in 2008 after the release of his Jodhaa Akbar, that he should include documentaries on Mughal costumes, on the wonderful real jewellery made of the film by Tanishq (450 kgs of gold alone, and they took it as a touring exhibition across India. Must have made a packet selling it all to society ladies and men!), plus his director's commentary. Of course nothing of the sort happened!

Still, I appreciate the very flattering comment, my dear, it is a rare compliment!

Lastly, be a good girl, go straight back to page 1, and hit the Like button for the main post!

My dear Purnima,

I am always deeply appreciative of readers like you, to whom my posts speak in a language that they can understand. If you were all not there, I would have stopped doing these posts long ago.

I too wish, very badly, that we could have Shivanand, the old Shivanand, back. Not this broken figure in wheel chair with a lolling head. He may still spit defiance at a Dansh (who is having himself flagellated, like the albino monk in The Da Vinci Code,God knows why), but he is hardly the Shivanand I preferred over all else.

My dear Santhi,

I am delighted that you liked my take on that tour de force of a scene so much. Arshi had wanted me to make sure I covered it, and even if she had not asked for it, there was no way I would not have done so! It was a masterpiece crying out for loving analysis, and so I spread myself over, believe it or not, almost 3 pages just for that one less than 5 minutes scene. It had so much material densely packed in!

I am by now thoroughly confused by the Saraswati + Amrit ka raaz, and as I do not propose to let my poor brains be turned into scrambled eggs, I am simply going to await developments. One can always depend on Utkarsh to bowl a few googlies at us too, so this is the wisest course.😉

Last night, Rudra, thanks to his humanism, ended up minus both the Books and his Baba, a situation that might perhaps have been predicted, and with a nag kanya on his hands as well. But I am sure it is precisely this that will work out in his favour down the line.

I loved the way in which he did not offer any excuses to Dansh for the DM and the other garuds turning up unknown to him, but made it sound as if he had intended it all along. That makes for unpredictability, which is always useful with a Dansh convinced that Rudra the Garud Pramukh will never cheat.

There were a number of things I did not understand about Dansh last night.

Why he shot Leela - though perhaps he knows that she will not be hurt the way he aims his shots, and indeed she seems to be pretty much ok. Perhaps he felt that such a major shock was necessary in order to distract Rudra sufficiently for him to collar the books and drive off with Shivanand as well.

Why he tells Leela that garuds do not do dhoka, after having told her exactly the opposite earlier.

Why he is having himself flagellated, like the albino monk in The Da Vinci Code, after having pulled off a coup by collaring the Two Books without having given Shivanand back either. Maybe to punish himself for having abandoned Leela to the garuds?

Incidentally, it was interesting that Dansh did not think of cheating on the deal, he was intending to give Shivanand back, obviously convinced that the Books were sufficient in themselves for the nagas, and also that Shivanand minus the Books would be useless.
