he was karna's second son (some sites suggest that he was the youngest son n was so small that couldn't participate in the war) but he was the only surviving son of karna and infact after upapandavas's death he was the only successor of pandava generation

parikshit(son of abhimanyu was given HP much later)

and vrishketu was given indraprasth

vrishketu was loved by every pandava

and he then went under the care of arjun and supported him in wars.😊

Aww, that's sweet. Then it explains the doubt I've had for a while, whether Indraprastha and Hastinapur were merged into one kingdom post-war.
