Is it right to change someone's religious views?

Before I go on to say anything, I just want to clarify that I am not bashing any character or religion. This discussion has a lot to do with what's happening in the show currently. I just thought of making this post because I want to know the opinion of a bunch of people. I am a fan of this show too, and I've made two very positive posts on this forum, so yeah I'm just stating the above beforehand to avoid fights.
Now, I just wanted to know how many people think that it is right to try to change how someone feels about God. Personally, I find it odd that Madhu is so interested in trying to change the way RK feels about God and that too, by doing what he is against, that is, bringing Ganpati into the house. Maybe she wants him to be blessed by God and have a more blissful life, but I just don't seem to see how she's helping him by literally forcing him to believe and upsetting him in the process. It's good that she stood up for her beliefs and asked RK not to say anything bad about her God, but ...
Is it right of her to try to bring the God into RK's house without his permission ??
Is that the correct approach to try instill God's love into someone's heart?
Would you do the same thing if you were in her place? Would you even attempt to change an atheist's views ??
Would you use a different approach, maybe??
Please let me know, and again, I hope the discussion that I want to have does not culminate into a fight :) peace and love 😊

She is not trying to change his view.. but trying to change his thought.. that he lost his father due to bappa.. becoz his mother radhaji told her that in childhood he was ganeshbhakt but after his father's death he became rude & lost his trust towards bappa.. She just want to bring that trust back...Ok. that's my opinion...

Hi 😊

as per story RK is not a born atheist , he did celebrate Ganesh Puja with his father until the unfortunate demise of his dad . He has brooded over this pain in years together ; on top of it his mother's remarriage too did not go down well with him as a child . So who does he complain ? to God but he realized that God did not give him respite of any sorts from all that pain he endured !

thereby he's angry & you might say in way complaining to Him ! why this unfairness to him when he always partook in Celebrating His Puja , Visarjan etc ...

So Madhu trying to surface that facet of Rishabh which he had concealed in folds since his dad's death . She knows he was a believer & thereby trying to re-instill that faith !

now whether she succeeds or not is for us to find out , but no harm in trying ❤️

hope I'm able to put some light .

See our discussion on the same lines on the episode discussion thread yesterday. I am deeply uneasy because of this normative religious immersion. V slippery area indeed.

You know, I was thinking on the same lines! Belief in God is an intensely personal thing, formed and shaped by our life experiences. It is terribly annoying to have someone try to change your way of life. So, I'm on RK's side in this case. In Madhu's defence, Radhaji has told her that RK is not really a disbeliever, but bitter. So what she's doing is her way of patching up a sour relationship (between Bhagwan and bhakt, I mean). I just wish she wouldn't irritate him so much while she's at it. But then that's what defines RishBala! What would they be without the fighting?

Its not about changing RK's views about religion or God. Its about bringing back the faith that he once had but is lost now.

About the way that she is using, well bringinng an idol home does not change anything...neither one starts believing again just seeing the idol. So I guess they might show something happeing that brings back his faith.

RK was a firm believer of God during his childhood.. He was of the opinion that nothing ill-fated can happen to him as long as his God is there with him... But tragedy struck in the form of hs father's suicide which led RK to believe that there is no such thing as God otherwise he would not have lost his father... madhu is just trying to bring back his lost belief in God... So i don't c y that she bringing in the Ganpati home is a prob...
Even if RK is an atheist, he has no power over madhu and the rest of his family's belief... The rest of them do believe in God n they have every right to bring Ganpati home...

I'm not even going to broach the treatment of religious sentiment as a normative condition. Why can't RK not believe in Bappa? This kind of wholesale Thakeray agenda is very worrying. Am I making sense here? The personal beliefs of a person are their own, no one has the right to try and change them, especially as a 'righteous battle' as is being shown here. It makes me deeply uneasy.

Had the fight been to enforce Madhu or RK's family to continue to practise their beliefs without intervention from RK, I would have been much happier.

This is what I said yesterday...
