The Rivers Of Coastal Karnataka

Reminiscence :- Coastal Districts Of Karnataka Have Lot Of Rivers Flowing Into The Mighty And Vast Arabian Sea ; Going Back To Olden Days - - One Or Two Rivers Had Not Got The Bridges Built Over Them And Barges & Boats Were The Means Of Active Transportations ; My Aunt Lived Few Miles Away From Where We Lived - My Aunt’s Home Too.

Whenever We Had An Outing To Her Place We Have To Cross Few Rivers And We Used Get The Car On To The Barge Via The Ramp And Dad Would Get Out Of The Car, Whilst I And Ladies Were Inside The Car ; Extremely Exhilarating Experience ! ! ! And Passenger Buses As Well As Other Means Of Transport Were Using These Barges And Many People Smaller Boats To Cross Over.

Much Later In Life, Further Away In The Adjoining District I Had Another Opportunity -- To And Fro -- To Cross A River Using Barge

Presently Nearby A Recreation Of Sorts Barges Ply On Rivers, Some Make Use Of It As Means To Cross Over And Avoid Lengthy Round About Rides, I Did Travel On This Barge Too. One Or A Two House Boats Are There With Restaurants, And Also Offer Overnight Stay Facility ;

Aside - - For Some Years The Helicopter Joy Rides Were Being Provided For A Sum Of Rupees By Some Enterprising Guys / People And I Am Planning To Take The Ride Whenever The Opportunity Arises ! ! !
