Chapter 3 – Colors of Sin

Holi arrived at the Rajput bungalow with noise, music, and color.

Servants rushed across the lawn, arranging sweets, colors, drinks, and decorations. Large speakers echoed with festive songs as guests slowly began to arrive.

From the outside—

the Rajput family looked perfect.

Powerful.

Untouchable.

Inside the kitchen—

Damini and Padma had been working together since morning.

Padma adjusted trays of gujiya while Damini arranged colors into silver plates.

“Bhabhi,” Padma laughed softly,
“aaj toh poora bungalow pagal ho jayega.”

Damini smiled faintly.

“Tum bhi enjoy karna. Sirf kaam mat karte rehna.”

Padma nodded happily.

“Pehli baar kisi ne yeh bola hai.”

Damini paused for a moment.

That sentence stayed with her.

Meanwhile—

upstairs—

Yuvraj and Ansh sat with their friends.

Glasses clinked.

Laughter grew louder.

One of the friends smirked,

“Bhai… Rajput house ki Holi toh dangerous hoti hai.”

Yuvraj grinned.

“Wait and watch.”

Ansh remained quieter than usual.

But he didn’t stop anything.

Outside, Gautam searched for Damini through the crowd.

He finally found her near the rangoli decorations.

Without warning, he applied a streak of color to her cheek.

Damini looked startled.

Then smiled.

“Holi hai, Mrs. Rajput,” Gautam said softly.

Damini picked up color and applied it to him in return.

“Holi hai, Mr. Rajput.”

For a brief moment—

everything felt peaceful.

Normal.

Near the kitchen corridor, Padma carried a tray upstairs.

Yuvraj noticed her.

His eyes lingered longer than they should have.

One of his intoxicated friends laughed.

“Bhai… Rajput house mein surprises bhi acche hote hain.”

Yuvraj smirked.

Ansh looked uncomfortable.

But remained silent.

Hours passed.

The celebration grew louder.

Drinks flowed freely.

Control slowly disappeared.

Padma moved toward the inner storage section carrying extra supplies.

The area was isolated from the main celebration.

Quiet.

Too quiet.

A few minutes later—

Damini noticed Padma hadn’t returned.

“Padma?” she called out.

No response.

She frowned slightly.

Then—

she heard something.

A muffled sound.

A struggle.

Damini immediately moved toward the back corridor.

Her steps quickened.

And then—

she froze.

Yuvraj.

His friends.

Padma trapped between them.

Terrified.

Helpless.

For one horrifying second—

Damini’s mind refused to process what she was seeing.

Then rage exploded through her.

“YUVRAJ!”

Everyone turned.

Padma tried desperately to pull away.

Damini rushed forward.

“Chhodo use!”

She tried to push them away.

One of the men shoved her back roughly.

“Bhabhi… stay out of this.”

Damini’s eyes burned with fury.

“Tum log insaan ho ya janwar?!”

Padma cried helplessly,

“Didi… please…”

Damini grabbed Yuvraj’s arm.

“Have you lost your mind?!”

Yuvraj, intoxicated and reckless, snapped:

“Stay out of this!”

He threw her hand away.

Meanwhile—

inside the crowd—

Gautam looked around.

“Yuvraj kahaan hai?”

Nobody answered clearly.

Something felt wrong.

Very wrong.

Damini tried again to pull Padma away.

But she was alone against several drunken men.

Fear spread across Padma’s face.

Damini screamed—

“GAUTAM!”

But the music outside drowned everything.

Gautam heard nothing.

He kept searching through the crowd.

Back there—

the situation spiraled beyond control.

Ansh stood frozen.

Watching.

Breathing heavily.

But doing nothing.

And that silence—

made him equally guilty.

Damini’s eyes filled with disbelief.

Not just at the crime—

but at the complete collapse of humanity before her.

Finally—

Gautam reached the corridor.

But he was late.

Terribly late.

The silence hit first.

Then the sight.

Padma collapsed.

Broken.

Damini standing beside her.

Shaking with rage.

Yuvraj and his friends stepping back.

Not ashamed.

Just caught.

Gautam stared at his brother.

His voice came out low.

Dangerously calm.

“What… have you done?”

Yuvraj looked away.

“Bhai… listen—”

“SHUT UP!”

The roar echoed through the corridor.

For the first time in years—

Yuvraj looked afraid.

Damini looked at Gautam.

There were tears in her eyes now.

Not weakness.

Disgust.

“You were too late.”

Those four words hit harder than any accusation.

Before Gautam could react further—

Yuvraj’s friends panicked.

“Let’s get her out of here!”

They grabbed Padma.

Damini tried stopping them.

“Don’t touch her!”

But chaos took over.

Within seconds—

they dragged Padma away.

“STOP THEM!” Damini shouted.

Gautam ran after them.

But the vehicles had already sped away.

Hours later—

on a deserted roadside—

Padma was thrown out of a moving vehicle.

Bruised.

Broken.

Unconscious.

Left to die.

Back at the Rajput bungalow—

the colors of Holi still stained the floor.

Music had stopped.

But something darker had taken its place.

Fear.

Damini stood alone in the corridor.

Her hands trembled.

Not from fear.

From fury.

Gautam approached slowly.

“Damini…”

She turned toward him.

For the first time since their marriage—

there was distance in her eyes.

A terrifying distance.

“You said,” she whispered,
“you always stand for what’s right.”

A pause.

“Then stand.”

Elsewhere—

inside his office—

Tolu Bajaj sat silently as one of his men spoke.

“The Rajput house mein kuch bada hua hai.”

Bajaj leaned back slowly.

His eyes narrowed.

“Interesting.”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

Very faint.

Very dangerous.

Because for men like Bhajan Singh—

other people’s tragedies were opportunities.

Chapter 4 – The Girl Who Lived

The Rajput bungalow had fallen silent.

Not peaceful silence.

The kind that suffocates.

The kind that hides truth behind walls of power.

Gautam stood in the main hall, his fists clenched.

Yuvraj sat on the sofa, restless but defensive.

Ansh remained near the window, avoiding everyone’s eyes.

Nandini looked shaken.

Only Raghav Singh Rajput remained composed.

Dangerously composed.

“What exactly happened?” Raghav asked.

Damini looked at him in disbelief.

“You still need an explanation?”

Her voice trembled—not with fear.

With rage.

“Your sons assaulted Padma.”

The words echoed heavily across the hall.

Nandini closed her eyes briefly.

Yuvraj stood up immediately.

“Bhabhi is exaggerating!”

Damini turned sharply.

“EXAGGERATING?”

Her voice rose for the first time.

“I saw everything!”

Raghav looked toward Yuvraj.

“Did you touch that girl?”

Silence.

Yuvraj avoided his eyes.

That silence itself became an answer.

Gautam stepped forward.

“You people threw her out on the road!”

Ansh spoke nervously,

“Bhai… we were drunk…”

Gautam looked at him with disgust. He said, “So that becomes an excuse now? By the way, a person in that state would never lie. You were looking lustfully at women. So, it wasn't a big deal for you guys to do this shameful act.”

Damini stared at Gautam.

Waiting.

Not for anger.

For action.

Before anyone could speak further—

a servant rushed inside.

“Sir…”

Everyone turned.

“The police called.”

A pause.

“The girl… Padma…”

Damini’s breath stopped.

“She’s alive.”

For one second—

nobody moved.

Then Damini rushed forward.

“Where is she?!”

“City Hospital.”

Damini immediately turned toward the door.

“I’m going.”

Gautam followed instantly.

“I’m coming too.”

Behind them—

Raghav’s expression darkened slightly.

Because survival changed everything.

City Hospital

Rain had begun outside by the time they reached the hospital.

Damini rushed through the corridor.

“Padma! Where is Padma?!”

A nurse pointed toward the emergency ward.

“She’s critical.”

Damini entered slowly.

And froze.

Padma lay unconscious on the bed.

Bruises marked her face and arms.

Machines beeped steadily beside her.

For a moment—

Damini could not breathe.

“She was left near the highway,” the doctor explained quietly.

“If another thirty minutes had passed… she wouldn’t have survived.”

Gautam lowered his eyes.

The weight of those words crushed him.

Damini walked toward the bed slowly.

Then sat beside Padma.

Carefully.

Gently.

As if afraid even touch might hurt her further.

“You’re not alone anymore,” she whispered.

Tears finally escaped her eyes.

Not helpless tears.

A promise.

Outside the room—

Gautam stood motionless.

He had seen business collapses.

Political threats.

Violence.

But never this.

Never something this ugly from inside his own house.

Damini stepped out after some time.

Her eyes met Gautam’s.

“You saw what your brothers did.”

Gautam nodded slowly.

“And Padma is alive.”

Another nod.

Damini’s voice hardened.

“She will testify.”

Gautam looked up immediately.

The reality hit him.

Not scandal.

Not reputation.

A criminal case.

Against his own brothers.

At that exact moment—

Raghav Singh Rajput arrived at the hospital.

Along with Nandini.

And two lawyers.

Damini noticed instantly.

Not family concern.

Damage control.

Raghav walked toward Gautam.

“How is the girl?”

Damini answered before Gautam could.

“She has a name.”

Raghav looked at her calmly.

“Fine. How is Padma?”

“Alive,” Damini replied coldly.

A brief silence followed.

Then Raghav spoke quietly—

“That complicates matters.”

Damini stared at him in disbelief.

“Complicates matters?”

Raghav’s voice remained controlled.

“You are emotional right now.”

Damini stepped closer.

“And you are worried about reputation.”

Nandini intervened softly.

“Damini, please calm down…”

Damini turned toward her.

“If Padma had died tonight… would everyone still ask me to calm down?”

Silence.

Gautam finally spoke.

“Dad… Yuvraj and Ansh committed a crime.”

Raghav’s eyes shifted toward him.

“And what exactly are you planning to do?”

Gautam answered firmly.

“What is right.”

For the first time—

Raghav Singh Rajput looked unsettled.

Elsewhere

Inside his office—

Tolu Bajaj received the news.

“The girl survived.”

Bajaj leaned back slowly.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Because now—

this was no longer a hidden scandal.

It could become war.

One of his men asked carefully,

“Should we interfere?”

Bajaj smiled faintly.

“No.”

A pause.

“Not yet.”

He stood near the window.

“The Rajputs are strongest when united.”

His eyes darkened.

“So let them destroy each other first.”

Hospital – Late Night

The corridor had grown quieter.

Damini sat outside Padma’s room alone.

Exhausted.

But awake.

Always awake.

Gautam approached slowly.

He sat beside her.

For several moments—

neither spoke.

Then Gautam finally said quietly:

“I’m sorry.”

Damini looked straight ahead.

“That apology should go to Padma.”

Another silence.

Heavy.

Painful.

Then Damini spoke again.

“When I married you…”

Her voice cracked slightly.

“…I thought your family stood for dignity.”

Gautam closed his eyes briefly.

“So did I.”

For the first time—

both understood the same terrifying truth:

Love had brought them together.

But truth—

was about to tear everything apart.

Chapter 5 – Separation by Design

Padma survived.

And with her survival—

the Rajput family lost control over the narrative.

Three days had passed since the Holi incident.

News had not yet reached the media, but tension had already spread through the Rajput bungalow like poison.

Servants whispered.

Phones rang constantly.

Lawyers visited at odd hours.

And for the first time—

the Rajput family stood divided from within.

Inside Padma’s hospital room—

Damini sat beside her quietly.

Padma had regained consciousness, though weak.

Fear lingered in her eyes.

Every sudden sound made her flinch.

Damini gently adjusted her blanket.

“You’re safe now.”

Padma looked at her slowly.

Tears gathered in her eyes.

“Didi…”

Her voice trembled.

Damini immediately held her hand.

“No one will touch you.”

A pause.

“I promise.”

Near the doorway—

Gautam stood silently watching.

Unlike the old Gautam—

this time, he didn’t look away from truth.

He stepped forward.

“Padma.”

She became visibly nervous.

Gautam noticed instantly.

And it broke something inside him.

He lowered his voice.

“I know you’re scared.”

A pause.

“But what happened to you was a crime.”

His jaw tightened.

“And I won’t protect criminals.”

Padma stared at him in shock.

Because in houses like the Rajputs’—

men usually protected blood.

Not justice.

Damini looked at Gautam carefully.

Not fully trusting yet.

But seeing something different.

Something stronger.

Meanwhile – Rajput Bungalow

Raghav Singh Rajput sat in his study with Nandini, Ansh, Yuvraj, and the family lawyers.

The atmosphere was tense.

One lawyer spoke carefully:

“If the girl gives an official statement… the case becomes extremely serious.”

Yuvraj exploded immediately.

“She’s just a maid!”

Raghav’s voice cut through sharply.

“Enough.”

Silence followed instantly.

Nandini finally spoke.

“Gautam is supporting Damini.”

That sentence changed everything.

Ansh looked worried.

“Bhai won’t stay silent.”

Yuvraj snapped angrily,

“Then stop him!”

Raghav leaned back slowly.

Thinking.

Calculating.

Then—

he made a decision.

The Plan

That evening—

Gautam entered the study.

Raghav looked unusually calm.

“I need you to handle a Singapore deal.”

Gautam frowned slightly.

“Now?”

“Yes.”

Raghav slid the file toward him.

“It’s important.”

Gautam didn’t even touch it.

“Dad, this is not the time.”

Raghav’s tone remained composed.

“This company doesn’t stop because of personal problems.”

Gautam’s eyes hardened.

“This is not a personal problem.”

A pause.

“A girl was assaulted.”

For the first time—

Raghav’s patience cracked slightly.

“And that girl will receive compensation.”

Gautam stared at him in disbelief.

“Compensation?”

His voice rose.

“You think money fixes this?”

Nandini intervened carefully.

“Gautam… your father only means—”

“No, Mom.”

He stepped back.

“I know exactly what he means.”

The room fell silent.

Then Raghav spoke coldly:

“You are emotional right now.”

“And you are trying to protect criminals,” Gautam replied.

Yuvraj stood up furiously.

“So now you’ll choose some maid over your own brothers?!”

Gautam turned toward him slowly.

“She is a victim.”

A pause.

“And you stopped being my brother the moment you touched her.”

The words landed like a slap.

Even Ansh looked shaken.

Raghav spoke again.

Firm. Final.

“You are leaving tomorrow.”

Gautam met his father’s eyes.

“No.”

That single word changed the atmosphere completely.

Because Gautam Rajput had never openly defied his father before.

Later That Night

Inside their room—

Damini stood near the window, lost in thought.

Gautam entered quietly.

For several moments—

neither spoke.

Then Gautam finally said:

“Dad wants me out of the country.”

Damini turned immediately.

“What?”

“He thinks separating us will weaken the case.”

Damini’s expression darkened.

“So that’s the plan.”

Gautam nodded.

“They think you’ll stand alone.”

A pause.

“They’re wrong.”

Damini looked at him carefully.

“Will you stay?”

Gautam stepped closer.

“Yes.”

Without hesitation.

Without fear.

For the first time since the incident—

some of the tension inside Damini softened.

Not fully.

But enough.

Gautam continued quietly:

“I failed to reach on time that day.”

Pain crossed his face.

“I’ll have to live with that forever.”

A pause.

“But I won’t fail you now.”

Damini’s eyes filled slightly.

Not with helplessness.

With relief.

Because this time—

she was not fighting alone.

Elsewhere

Inside his office—

Tolu Bajaj listened carefully as his man updated him.

“Gautam Rajput is supporting the girl.”

Bajaj’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Because united families were difficult to break.

But divided ones—

destroyed themselves beautifully.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“Let the fire spread,” he murmured.

Hospital – Midnight

Padma woke suddenly from a nightmare.

Breathing heavily.

Terrified.

Damini immediately held her.

“You’re safe.”

Padma shook uncontrollably.

“They were laughing…”

Her voice broke.

“They were laughing while hurting me…”

Damini closed her eyes briefly.

Fury burned inside her again.

Then Padma whispered the question that changed everything:

“Didi…”

A pause.

“Will anyone believe me?”

Damini held her hand tightly.

“Yes.”

Her voice was calm.

Certain.

Unshakable.

“Because this time…”

She looked toward the hospital corridor where Gautam stood waiting.

“…truth has witnesses.”

Chapter 6 – The First Battle

The next morning, the atmosphere inside the Rajput bungalow was colder than ever.

No one spoke during breakfast.

No one even pretended that things were normal.

The family sat together—

but for the first time, they felt like strangers.

Raghav Singh Rajput folded his newspaper and looked directly at Gautam.

"So?"

Gautam looked up.

"So what?"

"The Singapore deal."

"I'm not going."

The answer came immediately.

Firm.

Final.

Yuvraj slammed his hand on the table.

"Have you lost your mind?"

Gautam turned toward him.

"No."

A pause.

"You did."

The dining hall fell silent.

Nandini closed her eyes briefly.

The situation was slipping beyond her control.

Raghav spoke calmly.

"One mistake should not destroy an entire family."

Damini looked up sharply.

"One mistake?"

Her voice carried disbelief.

"You call that a mistake?"

Raghav's expression hardened.

"What happened was wrong."

A pause.

"But sending your own brothers to prison won't solve anything."

Damini stood up.

"It will solve one thing."

Everyone looked at her.

"It will prove that powerful people are not above the law."

No one replied.

Because deep down—

everyone knew she was right.

Hospital

Later that day—

Damini and Gautam visited Padma.

The doctors had shifted her out of intensive care.

Her injuries were still severe.

But she was recovering.

When she saw Gautam enter, she became nervous.

Damini noticed immediately.

"It's okay," she said softly.

"He is here to help."

Padma looked uncertain.

Then Gautam pulled a chair beside her bed.

His voice was calm.

"Padma."

She looked at him.

"What happened to you was not your fault."

A pause.

"And I will testify to whatever I saw."

Padma stared at him.

Almost unable to believe it.

"Even against your own brothers?"

she asked quietly.

Gautam's jaw tightened.

"Especially against my own brothers."

For the first time—

Padma felt hope.

A Dangerous Meeting

That evening—

Raghav met Ansh and Yuvraj privately.

The study door remained closed.

Yuvraj paced nervously.

"Dad, do something."

Ansh added,

"Bhai won't stop."

Raghav remained silent for several moments.

Then he spoke.

"The problem is not Gautam."

Both brothers looked confused.

"The problem is Damini."

Neither understood.

Raghav continued.

"As long as she stands beside Padma, this case survives."

Yuvraj frowned.

"So what do we do?"

Raghav's expression became unreadable.

"We separate them."

Meanwhile

Unknown to the Rajputs—

another player had entered the game.

Bhajan Sing sat inside his office.

Across from him sat a private investigator.

"I want everything."

Bajaj said quietly.

"Every weakness."

The investigator nodded.

"Of whom?"

Bajaj smiled faintly.

"The Rajputs."

A pause.

"And especially Damini."

Padma's Statement

Three days later—

the police finally arrived at the hospital.

Padma immediately became frightened.

Her hands trembled.

Damini sat beside her.

"You don't have to be afraid."

The investigating officer opened his notebook.

"Can you identify the people who attacked you?"

The room fell silent.

Padma looked at Damini.

Then at Gautam.

Both nodded.

Padma took a deep breath.

"Yes."

The officer looked up.

"Tell us their names."

Padma closed her eyes briefly.

Then opened them.

"Yuvraj Rajput."

A pause.

"Ansh Rajput."

Another pause.

"And their friends."

The officer wrote everything down.

For the first time—

the crime officially entered the legal record.

There was no going back now.

The Arrest Warrants

That evening—

news reached the Rajput bungalow.

A police officer arrived personally.

Raghav understood immediately.

The officer removed a file.

"We have recorded the victim's statement."

Yuvraj's face turned pale.

Ansh lowered his head.

The officer continued.

"Arrest warrants are being processed."

Nandini nearly dropped the glass she was holding.

"What?" she whispered.

The officer nodded.

"The law must take its course."

After he left—

chaos erupted.

Yuvraj shouted.

Ansh panicked.

Nandini cried.

Only Raghav remained calm.

Dangerously calm.

Because he had already started planning his next move.

Night

Damini stood on the balcony looking at the city lights.

For the first time since the incident—

she felt they had taken a step forward.

A difficult step.

But a necessary one.

Gautam joined her.

Neither spoke for several moments.

Then Gautam asked quietly,

"Are you afraid?"

Damini smiled faintly.

"Yes."

A pause.

"But I'm more afraid of remaining silent."

Gautam nodded.

This was one of the reasons he had fallen in love with her.

Her courage.

And now—

he would need every bit of that courage.

Because the real battle was only beginning.

Far away—

inside his office—

Tolu Bajaj looked at a photograph of the Rajput family.

Then he placed a red mark over it.

And smiled.

Because he knew something the Rajputs did not.

The coming war would not be fought only in court.

It would be fought through power.

Influence.

Money.

Fear.

And betrayal.

Chapter 7 – Advocate Anjali Awasthi

The news of Padma's survival spread quickly through the Rajput household.

What had begun as a hidden crime was slowly becoming a legal nightmare.

Every day brought new tension.

Every conversation ended in arguments.

Every member of the Rajput family seemed to be standing on a different side.

Three days after Padma's statement was recorded, Damini sat beside her hospital bed.

Padma had regained some strength.

The bruises remained.

The fear remained.

The nightmares remained.

Padma stared out of the hospital window.

"Didi..."

Damini looked up.

"Hmm?"

Padma hesitated.

"What if they get away with it?"

The question hung heavily in the air.

Damini knew exactly what Padma meant.

The Rajputs weren't ordinary people.

They had money.

Power.

Influence.

Connections.

Things people like Padma had never possessed.

Damini gently held her hand.

"They won't."

Padma's eyes filled with tears.

"How can you be so sure?"

Damini's expression hardened.

"Because this time they have me."

Outside the room, Gautam stood silently.

Listening.

Thinking.

He knew Damini meant every word.

And for the first time in his life—

he realized that courage wasn't loud.

It was persistence.

The Rajput Strategy

At the Rajput bungalow, a meeting was underway.

Raghav Singh Rajput sat at the head of the table.

Beside him sat Nandini.

Across from them sat Ansh, Yuvraj, and several legal advisors.

One of the lawyers spoke.

"Padma's statement is damaging."

Another nodded.

"Especially because Damini witnessed part of the incident."

Yuvraj slammed his fist against the table.

"This is all Damini's fault!"

Raghav's gaze immediately shifted toward him.

"No."

The room fell silent.

"This is your fault."

For a moment, even Yuvraj looked stunned.

Raghav continued.

"But blaming each other won't help now."

One lawyer adjusted his glasses.

"The priority is preventing the case from gaining momentum."

Nandini finally spoke.

"And Gautam?"

No one answered.

Because everyone knew.

Gautam had become the biggest problem.

A Different Battle

The following morning, Damini made a decision.

A crucial one.

She left the hospital and headed across the city.

When her car stopped, she looked up at the signboard.

Advocate Anjali Awasthi

The name carried weight.

Reputation.

Respect.

And occasionally—

fear.

Inside the office, Anjali sat reviewing case files.

Sharp eyes.

Sharp mind.

No wasted movements.

No unnecessary words.

Her assistant entered.

"Ma'am, someone wants to meet you."

Anjali looked up.

"Who?"

"Damini Rajput."

The name immediately caught her attention.

"Send her in."

The Meeting

Damini entered calmly.

Anjali observed her carefully.

Not the clothes.

Not the status.

The eyes.

Eyes revealed truth.

And Damini's eyes carried exhaustion.

Anger.

Determination.

Anjali gestured toward the chair.

"Please sit."

Damini sat.

For the next forty minutes—

she told Anjali everything.

The assault.

Padma.

The cover-up.

The hospital.

The family pressure.

Anjali interrupted only once.

"Did Padma identify the accused?"

"Yes."

"Officially?"

"Yes."

Anjali nodded.

Then allowed Damini to continue.

When the story ended, silence filled the room.

Anjali leaned back slightly.

Thinking.

Then she asked one question.

"Do you want compensation?"

Damini immediately frowned.

"No."

Anjali's eyes remained fixed on her.

"Do you want a settlement?"

Again—

"No."

A pause.

Then Anjali asked:

"What do you want?"

Damini's answer came without hesitation.

"Justice."

For the first time—

Anjali smiled.

A small smile.

But genuine.

"Good."

Damini looked at her.

Anjali closed the file.

"Because I don't fight for settlements."

A pause.

"I fight to win."

The Acceptance

Anjali stood and walked toward the window.

"Do you understand what you're asking?"

Damini nodded.

"You're taking on one of the most powerful families in the city."

"I know."

"They'll attack your credibility."

"I know."

"They'll pressure witnesses."

"I know."

"They may even attack your marriage."

For the first time—

Damini looked away.

Because that possibility frightened her.

But only for a second.

Then she looked back.

"I'm still not backing down."

Anjali smiled again.

"Good."

She extended her hand.

"I'll take Padma's case."

Damini shook it.

At that moment—

something changed.

For the first time since Holi—

she no longer felt alone.

Hospital Visit

That evening, Anjali visited Padma personally.

Padma became nervous the moment she entered.

Anjali pulled up a chair.

"Relax."

Padma looked uncertain.

Anjali spoke gently.

"My name is Anjali Awasthi."

A pause.

"And I'm going to fight for you."

Padma's eyes widened.

"For me?"

"Yes."

The answer was simple.

Certain.

For the first time since the attack—

Padma cried.

Not because she was afraid.

Because someone finally believed her.

Elsewhere

Inside his office—

Tolu Bajaj received troubling news.

"Advocate Anjali Awasthi has entered the case."

For the first time in days—

his expression changed.

Because Anjali Awasthi wasn't known for compromise.

She was known for victories.

Bajaj slowly put down his glass.

"This is becoming interesting."
