ayaan and kanya used to be love and kinda still probably are. the reason he broke off the engagement with her was because he thought she was a liar. she was forced by devika to protray herself as shanaya. kanya really ends up falling in love with ayaan and he loves her back. she send a letter to him explaining the truth through her friend riya. the stupid girl switches the letter with the letter she was writing to her boyfriend. kanya thinks ayaan knows the truth when actaully he doesn't. then devika and the real shanaya come back from london i think and they tell ranbir that kanya's just a maid in their hotel and not shanaya. ranbir discloses this and everyone insults her and her family in front of the media except for Big-D and Malika. Ranbir in Ayaan are around the same age. their relationship is chachu-bhateja, but they are more like brothers. kanya and ranbir are kinda forced to get married due to certain circumtances.
