It's not so much about being perfect. It is more about "feeling" that everything around her is perfect. This is why she is a Miss-fix-it. She wants to make things better and better.DQ, 🤗 I am really tired and exhausted to write wrt to "being perfect" and "self respect" ever again just like the way I was tired of "spineless" in past. Thank you for being my mind voice here and giving me that much needed solace. I am going to be a mute spectator and savor the views inside this thread till this track gets me out of frustration coz don't want to spoil the fun for people enjoying it. Just hope makers keep throwing me the lollipops like yesterday so am kept distracted and not to think anything serious about 😆

Thanks Shaavi for this elaborate post...But, my question is, Sona being a person who prefers to take a path of minimum risk, won't it be against her character, if Sona takes that leap of faith. And when we say, we need to accept a person whom we love with their flaws, why would we want Sona to take that leap of faith. I would rather want her to open up to Dev about everything regarding her, starting from what all Dev had asked her after his confession till all about her 7year struggle; but at the same time would like to see how Dev's love & care heals her up.

@DQ: What a wonderful summary of, and response to, the discussions that have happened so far! Say what you will about this track, you can't deny that it's got our grey cells working, the ones both in and out of the gutter. 😉
@All: At the risk of being repetitive, here's a new way I thought of to frame the current events in the show. I think, in the end, this whole remarriage drama comes down to the question of 'haq'.Just as Sona's main issue with the relationship is that Dev failed to integrate his relationships and acknowledge that that required work, Dev's main issue with the relationship is that Sona never claimed her right over him and their love. She said to him, we can't sustain a relationship because there is too much bitterness between our families. Dev recognised that he was at the root of much of this bitterness thanks to his unwilligness/inability to commit to the practical responsibilities of this relationship, and the dinner was an important step in his mission to show her how much he has changed. When he heard Ishwari hadn't taken the medicine when Sona gave it, he didn't avoid or deny the awkwardness, but talked about it candidly with Sona and then Asha, who noted how much he had changed. He noted the tension and did something about it, showing Sona a glimpse of the responsibility he was now willing and able to take, and how well he could carry it out. With this remarriage drama, Dev is addressing his main issue with the relationship, and saying to Sona, we can't be together (in any named or unnamed sense) if you can't claim your haq over me when an external party challenges our relationship. He made a lot of mistakes in their first innings because he knew she wouldn't claim that haq, Isn't that why he hid the infertility and went with the fake pregnancy lie? Even in Shimla, he was shocked to find that she thought he was being "mahaan" by saying it didn't matter if they had kids or not. The way he saw it, she had more right over him than any unborn children. He wants her to claim that haq, not for what she can give him, but because *she* loves him. Pyar haq deta hai, Sonakshi. So far, the writers have shown beautifully how these two fell into old patterns. Dev had no issues claiming his rights when he thought that Sona was hiding an affair with Jatin. Sona had no trouble nibhaofying the extended family portion of their relationship with the Khatri saga. Sona is saying, no, you can't just assert your right over me; it has to be okay with everyone who is important to us. Dev is saying, you can't give so much importance to everyone else; when they challenge our equation, assert your rights over me first and foremost. The dinner, followed by this remarriage saga are dramatised ways of showing how Dev, and then Sona, meet each other half way.

Sam, the above paragraph reminds me of this dialogue from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It is like this --......This is the kind of thing that Dev expected from Sonakshi at any of those times like when he cut the birthday cake without her or the infertility issue or anytime. He wanted to be "tumhara Dev" to Sona. 😃
