After seeing yesterday's episode, I am a little bit scared on how this phase is going to end. From the precap, with the way the girl was asking whether they are sure they don't want to be together anymore, I had something weird grumbling in my stomach. And from the spoilers, it's evident that engagement will happen, because we have seen Dev asking Sona to choose the sherwani he has to wear for his shaadi. Also, how panicked Asha was seen and with Asha in that same costume we were shown how Bijoy had catched Asha teaming up with Ishwari. Whereas, Bijoy's costume in which Sona blasts at him is different and in that Sona is wearing the costume she is wearing in the precap. So, that means, even after Sona blasts at Bijoy, there will be no change in Bijoy and the engagement will happen. I don't know what the makers are planning to show. It will not be welcomed by the audience if they are planning to take it till the pheras...Just now only the show was back from its bad phase. Now, what dynamics change they are going to bring, is really 😕

In context with the previous episodes, I realised something about this remarriage track. Ishwari, and Soha by proxy, wanted this plan to result in Dev and Sona realising and confessing their love for each other. Dev himself is nowhere near as ambitious. All he wants is for Sona to say, "don't get married." She doesn't have to want to remarry him, she doesn't even have to love him; she just has to take back her coercive demand and confess that she doesn't want him to marry someone else. Then they can happily return to their benaam rishta. That is what he has been trying to get her to say at every stage: when she came to see him that evening on the bike (I thought you would apologise for making this stupid promise), when they were in the car after meeting Payal (Abhi kehdo, Sonakshi), and yesterday, after they reuinited Payal and her boyfriend (did I do the right thing by uniting those to or by finding a way out of marrying Payal?).

The tragedy of it all is that Sona can't even bring herself to assert this infinitesimal haq over Dev, because of how much she overthinks her every move: "If I tell Dev I don't want him to get married, what does it mean? Will he assume I'm in love with him and give everyone false hope? Will Auntyji think I am plotting to be his wife again? Baba is already suspicious of our friendship; what will he think when he knows that I said this? I don't want to give Soha false hope that her parents can get back together." What she really needs is a reminder like the one Dev gave her before the family dinner, "dinner pe hi aana hai, humari shaadi nahi horahi!" 😆 In short, don't overthink this; we'll take it one step at a time at whatever pace you want, and along the way, we can take as many breaks as you need. Just don't let go of my hand because you are afraid I'll let yours go first. This whole ladki-dekhna rigmarole is to simulate urgency for Sona and drag her into the present moment where she isn't preoccupied with a million thoughts about the past and the future and can give in to her present.

I guess engagement is gonna happen and Sonakshi is not gonna do anything.

Dev has confessed Sonakshi what he feels, while he thought she is sleeping.

Ishwari has begged again for reunion.

Dev has also said that nobody will force Sona.

But still situation is same from Sonakshi's side.

So now what?

Will Dev get engaged to Nisha and continue his game plan until pheras, or he will somehow not do engagement.

I wish Dev would have done the same trick that Simarn did in DDLJ to not to get engaged. I can't see him getting engaged to someone else. 😭

Ps- Sona is wearing same Shimla sequence gown. Dunno why all the cost cuttings are for FL only.

Sam, I was just about to write something similar when I saw your post. Sonakshi is so worried that the qayanat wants/does not want them married that she is doing everything possible to put other people's minds at rest. And like you said, in that process, she has forgotten that Dev hasnt asked her to marry him. Her guilt with regards to Dev is that he wants her back (and benam rishta is fine by him!) while she needs time

Great discussion on Sona. It helped me get the answer to many of my why questions carried off from S1. Like,

1. Why, on the next day of confession, when Dev asked her to share everything about herself, she brushed it off saying, as they proceed in their relation, he will come to know more about her?

2. Why, even after sooo many assuring words & actions from Dev, like eating chilly and following her to Bose house to manofy her (though it was only when they were alone), she always concentrated on what Dev didn't do for her?

3. Why, on all 3 occassions - first in helping her realize who Dev was for her after the first breakup, secondly helping Sona to understand Dev's situation on the night of his birthday (though I wanted her to burst out), thirdly in helping Sona Dev's vachay to hide her infertility report - Sona needed Asha to make her understand Dev?

4. Why she could easily fall prey to Vicky & Maami's trap?

and finally,

5. Why, though she was the one who had the realisation of love first, never believed in her love & what she said in yesterday's episode - that whatsoever happens, nothing can come between two lovers?
