Totally. Dixits are famous for being duplicitous. There's nothing new in their attitude. They are still the same hypocrites.

I too was lost.. besan ka halwa in Bong household! 😃 Leaving Roshogolla, chamcham, rajbhog, labanga latika, she settles for besan halwa .. LOL! Or is that a indication that she will switch sides!😕 Well in that case she doesn't know what her granny will sculpt her into!!! No choices in Dixit house! Or maybe the rules might be different for daughter! As we have seen in the differential treatment of Sona and Neha. Ek liye paap hai toh doosre ke liye woh uska adhikar hai! Height of duplicity of Momma Ishwari.

BTW, Besan halwa is a very common place rajasthani/pakistani sweet. I make it very often and its very yummy. Though Ishwari has spoiled its impression😭
I am wondering why i lack empathy for sobbing crying souls?/ Is it coz I perceive it as weakness or coz of the sense of entitlement it gives such people to release undeserved venom on the strong ones.

It is one thing for some women to face mental/physical abuse and continue to tolerate it in hopes of better tomorrow or because it is so much less work to tolerate abuse from family then from the rest of the world Some of them do get lucky, and might get to see a better more equal partnership in later years. Some continue to struggle and die struggling..

But the question is why oh why must we not be able to see the blatant wrongs. Ishwari is from patriarchal setup-I get it. She hasn't seen successful professional women in her close circle Hence she is unable to relate to Sona's independence and a feeling of healthy business competition against Dev.
Dev too a product of this set up and hence behaves how he behaves.

But why should we justify/empathise with the above clearly regressive/outdated thoughts?
Now I see a demand for Sonakshi's vulnerability show.. why? Strength has its own back story. It has its own beauty.

If I want something, I'll try hard to get it by just means, not whine... Whining is for beggars, not for people believing in hard work...

rant over... I was not as unhappy with serial as with some thoughts from fellow members. Of we empathise with this incorrect thought process, we are not doing any favor to the struggle of millions of feminists who advocate equality.

I have my grave doubts that does this guy really love his daughter at all or is she also an obsession just like he had on Sonakshi? Because based on these 250 episodes he cannot think anything beyond his mom and her happiness not even Soha's happiness. So now Ishwari's /Dev's obsession / happiness is Soha so as a dutiful son he will go and get her just like Ishwari did for Dev by bringing Sonakshi. He doesn't care what Soha wants or her feelings, what kind of a father he would turn out to be?

Oh I am sure Besan Halwa might be delicious (although Ishwari has overcooked hers). But Bong grandmother won't make it and it's not available in sweet shops of Kolkata. Gajar ka Halwa, yes. But not Besan or Dal ka Halwa.

When this show started I was under the impression that there will be change in Ishwari from insecure mother-in-law to a good mother-in-law. The daughter-in-law came and left, seven years on, she is same deluded intolerable person.

I was also under the impression that Dev will overcome his over dependency on his mother with Sonakshi's help. He has just kept falling so low with every episode that I couldn't even identity post marriage Dev with new in love, sensitive Dev.

I agree with you. Why does a woman need to be weeping, pleading, whining, begging and generally weak and pathetic? Why can't a woman be strong?

I personally prefer strong women who deal with the situation instead of blaming everyone but doing nothing. I want Sonakshi to be bullet proof. I don't want any Dixits to ever hurt her again and given the chance they definitely would hurt her again.

There was always demands for Sonakshi, but never enough demand for Dev to step up and be a man. But isn't that how our society is? All demands are for women but never enough for men?

The way Dev is with Golu, I think he loves Soha. But he is now desperate to have Soha because just like before both mother and son thinks that now Soha is the key to their happiness.

Ishwari wants her son back in her kitty through Soha as well as a "Waris" without additional accessory like a mother.

Dev wants the elusive happiness that like Neha, he keeps looking for in other people and material things.

None of them tries to find their own happiness within because the only way you will find happiness within you, if your conscience is clear, if you are at peace. But how can they be in peace? How can their conscience be clear? They can lie as much as they want to everyone else, but deep within, everyone knows who they are and what they have done.

Hiyaa.. Of course Soha has to switch sides 😉... How else can they justify the poor souls and their need for being deprived of love ... And to top it all Soha too might be made to show how much she was struggling for some pampering and make her weak and emotional about everything, including a simple halwa😆.. And how she was forced to be strong in that Bose house all those "I'm strong" idealists... 😆

And in Ishwari Nivas everyone loved to be pitied and sympathized... And whoever gives it, they are good people.. Whoever questions it, then they are bad for their survival in self-pity... Very bad of Sona that she didn't indulge them in their self-pity mode instead was trying to bring them out of it... If only she too was willingly falling into that well... Too bad that The Boses' didn't bring her up that way and she had to run away to save herself from getting doomed into pitying her own state...

But Soha being the young mind, she can be easily manipulated and trapped in their so-called over indulgence... And kids do love that and by the time they realize that they were deprived of the joy of being satisfied and find happiness in their own love without relying on others, it will be too late for her... She'll have to live in that misery and not even knowing what hit her hard... Because what she thought as love was a trap to keep her suffocated in a trap.. Unless she has enjoyed the freedom of loving and being loved outside that suffocation, she'll not be able to appreciate the difference...

Anyway let the good souls empathize with The Dixits'... And I sincerely wish that such people in real life to handle such people with the same patience and same empathy... May be they too love to be empathized for their own sob stories... 😆

Survival of the fittest... And Sona proved that she couldn't survive in The Dixit environment and Dev proved that he couldn't survive anywhere away from his mother... So they have to choose the best that suits their survival... Both can't suffocate each other in the name of love... 😊
