Sona hasn't "become" a feminist, she always was one because she believed in equality between men and women, but the way Dev said it, it was like she took her independence once step too far and the result was this ugly thing called feminism, which in this common misrepresentation refers to a woman who can't admit that she is wrong and if accused, gets personal in the name of sticking it to the patriarchy. It fits Sona's behaviour today, but not so much the actual definition of feminism. I'm gonna try to forget that dialogue was there. 😕 Get it together, writers!!!

It was very distasteful. To use a term that helps liberate women in a sense of make them guilty of there decisions. 😕

i was pretty offended by the way he said feminist.but may be this "scoffing at feminism" attitude isnt so surprising coming from dev 2.he has become quite cynical.dev 1 just wouldn't have said something like that
i enjoyed how he was silently challenging Bejoy and impressing soha at the same time😆

Yes, I was extremely disappointed in the writing there. If you don't know what a word means, don't use it. But then it's a reality check about how many people, even those who write pretty feminist content, are unaware of the true meaning and import of this term. 😒

@ Sam. Really loved you analysis. Definitely Dev is looking for Sona's guidance, but Sona right now is showing two different facades, one in front of Dev and one in front of Bijoy. It is like she is thinking something, saying something else and doing a completely different thing altogether. When Soha was talking about taking care of Sona, I think Sona felt guilty as what Soha mentioned was done by Dev. Sona felt that Soha was not completely right and wanted to clarify that to Dev by asking him to give more time, but when Dev cut her off, she became defensive.
The one thing I did not like was Bijoy's words to Soha that he is terrified that she would leave them. It was not right of him to tell that to Soha. I felt he displaying the same disposition right now as Ishwari. This will affect Soha and may lead to Bijoy - Dev face off or Dev - Sonakshi face off where he will tell her about Bijoy's words and Soha's feelings regarding them(maybe 😊).

I was confused regarding Sona's reaction to Bijoy when he said she should not have left Soha to interact with Dev. What does Sonakshi want?. I feel she does not really know at this point.

I also remembered one thing. In the episode before holi when Ishwari eats the oily food and gets sick Dev gets mad at Sonakshi and tells that she should have found a way. But then later when he talks to Ishwari and she says that Sonakshi does not know how to cook, he replies that "everyone could not be perfect like her".

Today in his FB, he remembered Sonakshi's words that Soha is perfect because she made her perfect. It seemed like a forewarning where Sonakshi will have to face that Soha is not perfect nor she is as she assumes to be.

I also have felt the same that both Dev & Mamaji have this fear somewhere inside them and that restricts them from correcting her even when they know that she's wrong. More than Dev, Mamaji is more scared that she may do the same thing again. That's why he always agree to what she says or keep on pampering his kachori.

Read everyone's write-ups. Really great POVs. TBH I find the story still pretty interesting because it still revolves around the main plot. As for extension of one year, I think 100-150 more episodes is pretty okay deal to end the show on a good note. I wouldn't want the show to stretch beyond that.
In todays episode and even with precap, I think Sonakshi's changing behavior in interacting with Dev while being alone, or in front of others is very different and growing apparent. In front of other, she becomes daughter of her father while in front of Soha, and even alone she was a jilted lover of Dev's before anything else.

Dev's has his work cut out for him. Soha's reaction to see Dev carry Sona spoke volumes about her need for her father. So far she doesn't really feel the need of having a father around her being a six year old which is justifiable. She is definitely curious about Dixits but she would only need her father to be present if he can be a support for her mother. I hope through Soha at least, we can get a glimpse of Sonakshi's struggles in past seven years.

Sam and Areeba. I went online and searched for the definition of both Feminist and Misandrist.

Feminism -- the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.

Misandrist --a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against men.

Even before the leap, Dev never really thought of her as anything less than his equal and also used to be very vocal about it. As to Sonakshi being prejudiced against men, she is ok with taking help from her baaba, Jotin or Saurabh. She only had/has problem accepting help from Dev.

I don't know the exact word, but I feel this is what Dev wanted to tell her "you have not understood the real meaning of "feminism" but going around with a misguided understanding of it. You taking help from husband or me wouldn't have made or make you unequal. I never considered you less than me and but if you feel that I thought like that it is just in your head".

This is just like Sonakshi's constant saying of "Perfection". I feel the CVs are trying to explain the real meaning of feminism and remove the common misinterpretation of the word.

Just my thoughts.😃

I'm so busy today but could not stop me from coming here 😊,I hope at least tonight I will get time to catch up with this thread 😭 . Some quick thoughts

  • Soha had already made a relationship with Dev before he revealed her he was her dad , so if she is not ready to accept the change why cant she keep her old relationship intact . I really felt bad for Dev , when he was asking for a chance to prove himself to Soha . If not papa , she could have addressed him "friend" instead of Mr.Dixit .

  • Even now Dev is able to open up about his feelings to Sona , I wish to see Sona doing the same at some point . At least about her struggle of bringing up their daughter alone after they were thrown out of their house .

  • Bijoy's words were honest but I couldnt help but feel bad for Soha , for the pressure she is gonna face if she ever have to choose between her mom and dad .Just hoping she would never have to face that kind of situations .

  • Dev's indifferent words to Ishwari "I dont think you have done any thing wrong " . I think we cant take those in face value . Is he really giving upon Ishwari , or deep down accusing himself ?

  • Soha Bose just slayed and how 🤗 . Dev could not even give any logical explanation to her . (What was his plan anyway , sneaking her out through the window and bringing back in time ? What if Sona or anyone found out she is missing ? This would have blown out of proportions if he was made , and he would have lost his chance forever )

  • Sona's fear is getting to her , she feels Soha would not be safe with her father , but she is ok to leave her daughter with her driver ? Soha going to strangers home and having food from them ,Is that safe ? What logic is that ?

I thought so too Shaavi. In fact I had to go back and watch that scene again. That feminist dialogue came out all of some sudden. She fell down. He was helping her. And they were both giving attitude to each other. I don't understand where feminism came in all this.

Like you guys said... it was out of place. I have found Dev and Sona both feminists. And being a feminist is a good thing. Like Sam has often said, feminists want to break the barriers that the patriarchal system puts on men and women both. You can't be a man hater to break such a old, solid system. I don't think we should take Dev's words on face. It's a jibe. Jibe at sonakshi and Jibe at viewers who think they are feminists. Sonakshi was always a feminist. And many of us self proclaimed feminists are probably misandrists mis-labelling our men-hate as feminism.
