Oh I know. It's scary. Can you believe code for Nuclear weapon at Trump's hand? That's scary in another level. What were they thinking? USA is such a redneck central that it's not even funny anymore.

Even a donkey would have made a better president than Trump.

US stocks and bonds have already started to fall. I work in a financial company and I am getting calls from people who want to switch out of US investments.

Last night immigration website of Canada crashed due to traffic from USA all hoping to immigrate to Canada which became a global news.

Today has been a day for me filled with sadness and shock. The sadness that we still live in a world full of hate and where fear creates havoc.😭
I know all of you have been discussing the show and Tia mentioned about my parenting note on one of her threads.

Today I wanted to share something here which brought hope in a day which was Dismal

After the elections and the results I was so sad but wanted to tell my children to not lose hope and keep the faith for Good always wins for which my younger son wrote back saying

Mom it is a New Day. As a person I know right from wrong because the president was not my teacher but my parents were and are. And Our country is greater than a bad president

This reply from my child just made me weep all over again and made me realize that as parents we bear a lot more responsibility than anyone can possibly have

Sorry I brought my personal stuff in here and thanks Tia for giving me a place to voice mine

God Bless Freedom and a Land where we live without Fear!

I will put my comments on fabulous Boses and creepy Ishwari later, but for now about Neha - like someone mentioned here - she craves for Love and Care first and not the materialistic pleasure, that was why for the first marriage her condition was No kids, the reason might partially be that she doesnt want to take anymore responsibility of raising kids but that could also be that she wanted all the love only for herself.

All in all, Neha turns out to be the most interesting chatacter I would love to discuss over and over, something like a mature novel which always gives multiple shades of a character and not just +/- shades..

More later when I go back home 🥳

So true, its all about parenting. Bijoy has faith on his daughter and son in law, but Ishwari is so worried about her son.

I wonder even at night 2, she want to have a talk with her son, inspite of knowing whereabouts of her son. Dont know what to think about this, its not her concern about her son is safe, morethan that.

And the thing which irritated me was her only concern about Dev, not even once for Sona atleast for humanity sake. *sigh*

Absolutely, Sabita. A parent plays the biggest influence on shaping their children's character. A good parent makes a big difference the same way a bad parent does.

Some part of it is the child's nature, but right nurturing can overcome the flaws and enhance the positive aspects of his/her.

I am guessing by your conversation you live in USA. If you do, my condolences. Hope Republican keep Trump on a tighter leash than Ishwari keeps Dev.

Tia, u have explained every scenario very nicely in terms of parenting, meaning how Ishwari would have behaved in such circumstances like the ones today. Bose family is amazing. I love there light humor scenes, even when Bijoy scolds Saurab, I don't mind that because he is not comparing him with himself or Sona or better not telling him about his past and how he must have struggled to bring his family up but infact he wants him to do something just for himself and become financially stable unlike Ishwari who loves dev just he is sole earner of the family and wants him to fulfil everyone's wishes and not live his life per his wish. It's true Ishwari has failed as a parent.

I am glad, they r showing this comparison between two different families and Dev is getting a small tutorial about a happy family and Dev should spend some more time at Bose house because he will learn more about how a family actually be and how they should be living happily as oppose to always trouble everyone by talking about their past struggle. I hope Dev learns something from this and try to implement it in his family too. After patch up that sulky ma will be coming to get her infant son back because she thinks her son cannot live without her or better he will forget his mama dear if he lives some more time at Bose house but I think she will atleast understand that now in order to keep her son close, she will have to keep Sona even closer because Dev cannot live without Sona.

I feel like they are just stretching this a bit too much now because it seems like Ishwari's insecurity is not going away. I don't know how will they make Ishwari's character normal because She is just not ready to accept that Dev and Sona are one now and not ready to give Sona the rights of being Dev's wife not just in the bedroom but also in his decisions. This is very irritating.🤢

Today's episode was all about parenting - one a successful one and the other a failed one. Gemini (Sabita) once wrote about different parenting style in her comment on one of my posts. Today it's more glaring than ever.

Neha asked a valid question today. Her relationship is the same with Ranveer as Dev's with Sona. Is the difference in husband or wife that makes them behave differently?

Me: Excellent question, Neha. The difference is in husband, wife and parenting. You see, you don't want to make Sona's effort in your relationship, your husband doesn't want to continuously fight an uphill battle like Dev and your family doesn't know how to support their children like the Bose. Had Dev and Sona fought here in Dixit house instead of Bose house, your mother would have ensured their divorce as well.

Ishwari is informed by Neha that Dev would be late. But that wasn't good enough for her. After all who is Neha? She is just a tool to use against Dev when needed and pacified with whatever she wants if she tries to tarnish her Goddess image in front of the family. Dev should have called her directly.

Alternatively, in Bose house, Dev points out to Sona that Elena and Saurabh are fighting but Sona is absolutely indifferent. After all when people live together and love each other, they fight in the open and doesn't backstab each other in private. That's the Bose way.

But for Dev, it was probably an eye opener and he was left feeling as confused as someone who was locked in "Kal Kothri" for years sees sun for the first time.

After dinner, Dev, Saurabh and Bijoy Bose bond over alcohol while Sona stomps away.

So Dev run after her. But Sona hands him his pillow and blanket and ask him to sleep outside.

Now there's again another parallel here from before but with a twist.

When Dev and Sona fought and he ignored her calls choosing to sleep on the couch, Radha blamed Sona.

But here Asha gave up their room for Dev so that he can be comfortable. No one asked him any explanation nor blamed him for anything.

The twist: When Dev was angry before at his home, he never checked to see Sona's comfort.

But today at Sona's house, they were both concerned for each other's comfort.

Yesterday, someone mentioned that a man always feel welcome at a girl's home, but not all girl is lucky enough to feel as welcomed at their in-laws as they are at their own family.

Here's why.

Regardless how upset a wife is with her husband, when he is staying at her parents' home, she still cares for his comfort. She doesn't take his presence for granted.

But thanks to handy excuse of culture, most husband never reciprocates the same for his wife at his home because well, where else would she go?

And when a husband actually reciprocate the same consideration for their wife, looks for her comfort and don't take her presence for granted, those are the lucky few women who are as comfortable and welcomed in their in-laws as they are in their own family.

That's the attitude difference that women put up with in the name of tradition bullsh*t.

It's like saying, hey girl, let's make a deal. How about you take all responsibilities since the day you get married, but wait a few decades for your rights and to actually be accepted as a family member? Sounds fair, yes? And we will call this arrangement, tradition and culture to make it a generally unquestioned/uncontested deal that people will blindly follow like sheep.

Anyhoo, moving on. Bijoy Bose kicked them out. Some may call him crazy, I call him smart.

Even drunk he is better parent than sober Ishwari.

He knew that husband and wife should sort out their differences between themselves. And since he can't force Sona to let Dev in, he can ensure that they stay out until they sort out their differences.

Family should intervene only after the couple reach an impasse, not before because no one lives forever. If the couple don't learn how to sort out their problem, what will happen when the parents are no longer alive?

Ishwari however calls as usual hovering.

Bijoy Bose informs her that Dev is staying here.

But that wasn't good enough for her. She expects Dev to stay up at 2 p.m. to cater to her whim and have a chit chat with her. Seriously?

Bijoy Bose informs her that she threw Dev and Sona out to sort out their fights.

Ishwari's concern, "You threw out Dev?"

Bijoy informed her, "Yes, but with Sona."

So let me get it Ishwari, you expected Dev to stay up and pacify your irritating hovering by chatting with you at 2 p.m. but you are worried what he is doing with his wife at 2 p.m. with platinum unlimited credit card and a car at his disposal? I don't know, may be they are starving at the street and are crying for you like Oliver Twist?

The trust Bijoy Bose has on his son-in-law to protect his daughter at 2 p.m. of night, Ishwari doesn't have on her son to take care of himself. She doesn't care at all about Sona.

That's the difference between a successful parenting and a failed parenting.

Ishwari gets offended and keeps asking about Dev and Bijoy replied, "Now you are annoying me. Good night."

Trust me, Mr. Bose, I was feeling the same. High five!!!

Precap: Dev is now puppy following Mrs. Bunny. But their fight continues.

P.S. Dev, tum to kuch din yahan ruk hi jao. Family kaisi hoti hain Boses tumko achhe se sikha degi.

Excellent post excellent analysis ...really creative realistic writing by cvs...dixits and boses do exist in real life but to pit them together seamlessly is an art

I know, right? I mean any parent after finding out that their adult son is staying over at his in-laws home would let him sleep instead of demanding his father-in-law to knock on his married daughter's room at 2 a.m. to wake up his son-in-law so that he can talk to his mother. Are you freaking serious?

For all she knows that Dev and Sona is sleeping in her bedroom or even making out, who cares. But no, Dev has to give attendance to her first.

And Sona? Who is Sona? After all she is a girl on the street of Delhi at 2 a.m. But no, she is not concerned for her. She is concerned for her thirty year old son with enough money to buy a hotel for one night stay is in trouble because Bijoy let him out.

Sona is right. Even Dev's mother treats him like a puppy.
