What was Dev's Situation

In today's episode , when Dev waits for Ishwari till late ( till she is back from temple), instead of being happy ghts her son was worried and waited till she is back home safe , she taunts saying Dev now has added responsibility of Sona and says parampara toh badalte rahti hai...

Dev keeps saying - Maa tum yeh kya kah Rahi hi, he was looking sad, worried and stressed out...

Then Dev comes bk to bedroom, sits by Sona , then Sona (while sleeping), keeps her head on his lap, and they show Dev taking care of Sona ( he is moving his hands over her hair) but they showed some dilemma, kind of big thought process going on in Dev's head, what was his situation, can u all share ur thoughts... I didn't understand his situation at that moment of time
