The Phone Call

Now folks, this is probably the first & last time I'm going to dissect a 2.5 min phone call in such detail. Sounds ridiculous, but here goes...

The Logic. Arohi's cell phone runs out of battery. Game over? No, she uses the land line! Bravo! Serial-world meets the Real-world. Well done. The logic for this is two-fold. One, we are left at a cliffhanger between episodes. Two, Arjun picks up since he doesn't recognize the Caller ID. Nice.

The Emotion. No doubt an emotional overflow encounter. Arjun is just devastated by Arohi's 'little' comment. Watching him barely hold together his arrogant facade, at his edge, is painful to say the least. It feels like he is done. He doesn't have the strength to withstand another attack from her.

Arohi is in emotional overflow, the words aren't coming out just yet. She just wants to see him, to hold him, to be with him. But she cannot. He has put up a wall she can't surmount...yet.

The Exection. Arohi locked in a room. Arjun, wandering outside on the highway. What a contrast. Superb. He looked visually lost, aimless, defeated. I could almost see him jump off that bridge..although we know that wouldn't happen. Still, the thought crossed my mind. It was a visual treat.

The 'Aha!' Moment. Arjun has a limit too. He is human. He too can get hurt. I had forgotten that over the past months. Good to be reminded.

The After Effects. You know, there is a point after which one doesn't identify the characters as wrong or right. You just identify with them. Bas.

I am not angry or disappointed with Arjun for cutting off Arohi. I am just there, feeling it with him. Isn't that a powerful story? One that removes you from your judgments and places you in the situation. Why can't Arjun be upset as well? Why can't Arohi be tongue-tied? The answer is they can.

Arohi is chasing after Arjun for the first time in their long (?) history together. This is a comforting change. Something worth watching. And Arjun is leaving. I can't say that I am completely disappointed. I am a bit relieved. This is what I have wanted for a while. I think its time too. He should get out of her life.

Realistically though, I can't see Arjun leaving without seeing Arohi one last time. But what is in store for tomorrow is beyond me. And somewhere in my heart I don't even want to think about it.


Anything else?

1. Arjun's last scene, sitting at the lamppost (in Powai, kya??) looked really good to me. I love all of these outdoors, and artsy, slick type of scenes we have been getting lately has been incredibly. It looks like they are trying to stretch their limits...to create something above and beyond. I really appreciate and enjoy this.

2. Arohi's repeat dress (same lehnga in different colour) ordinarily would bother me no end, but i'm alright with it this time. Why? Cause she looks incredibe in the blue. And cause Kritika herself looks quite different from back then. And because I'm hoping I don't need to see her for too long in it. (last time was a full week, remember?) Oh, and also cause I've seen her in almost the same lehnga in purple as well (in YKHS). Methinks she likes the style on her, or its an inexpensive fancy dress that also looks nice. We are, afterall, in te middle of a recession - even i repeat alot more clothes these days. LOL.

3. Seeing Salil, Aman, Nikhil yesterday was a treat. Seeing Paddy today? Not so much. Mohan, I am not sure whether to like or dislike. I like him when it comes to his son. Not when it comes to DK, Arjun, and Arohi. Confused about the guy. At best I will call him 'a light shade of grey'.

4. The studio is burning down tonight. Guess who lives in the studio? That's right, Anu's dost & Mehr's bhaiyya. Woah.... So either (a) he will get hurt in the blaze; or (b) he will be accused of starting the fire; or (c) he will stop the fire? Hmm..any other possibilities? Dunno. Wish he would just take a flight to shimla and call it a day.

Anyways...on to bigger and better...HAPPY 100TH ADDA. You guys are the BESTEST! Really you are.

Okay, it's my turn to share how I became addicted to KMH and this forum J We had a one week free promo for NDTV imagine, without me even realizing it. So on Feb. 6. I was flipping channels and I accidently got to this channel and they were airing a KMH episode. I still remember the episode and the part it was on when I accidently changed the channel...it was the scene where Arjun and Arohi meet for the very first time at the police station. Ahh...who can forget that magical moment. She was walking toward him and tripped and he caught her. The backdrop was just beautiful with the snow falling, them looking into eachother's eyes and our favorite KMH background music playing. I was hooked instantly. What a way to start off the show right???? After watching the episode, I couldn't stop humming the music. Since this was a love story and they were meeting for the first time, there was so much more to come. I knew that it would eventually blossom into a beautiful love story. At that moment I felt that I wanted to be a part of their journey. So I decided to get onto youtube and check out this show. I was happy that the show had just started airing for less than a month so it would be easy to catch up. I spent that entire weekend watching all the episodes. It took a while to get through, but I was hooked! And since that day on, KMH has been a part of my life.

And as for Ria ka Adda, well I would log into IF to get updates on my other shows. Not often, but every now and then when I was curious to know what was happening especially since they air the episodes in the US two weeks later. Anyhow, I went onto the KMH forum and read Anu's posts a few time. I had immediate liking to it as it was so comical. Then I came across Ria's post. By the way, my favorite post by you is the time when you wrote about how Arjun is shattered and talking to his dad after he hurt Arohi by announcing his engagement to Nutts. You truly touched me with your words. You so eloquently described Arjun's inner turmoil. I just loved it!!!!!! So since March I became a member and share my thoughts and feelings with you all. I don't know any of you at a personnel level, but I feel we have this connection. I do have to thank KMH for giving us this connection!!!! Happy 100^th adda people! Enjoy :)

Thank you Ria for RKA.... It is one of my fav place to be around and this place gave me so many friends...... I started watching KMH since february and come to KMH forum.... The came across your posts and got addicted to your post..... I didn't have my user id so I created a user id just to be part of your post.... I mentioned to you earlier as welll... I used to wait for your post impatiently after the episode and I do it now also......

@Anu, Thank you yaar for taking over RKA when Ria was not available..... your posts always made me laugh... even during sad times... and BTW Great VM....

HAPPY 100th RKA 😃 We havent been able to write in at the Adda as much as we may have wanted to, but we have never failed to read up on the daily synopsis that Ria and Anu write. This really has been such a wonderful journey...for those who write in and for those who are silent. You guys give us something to believe in, something real... a moment of reflection. I hope you have aeons and more centuries to celebrate and that the Adda remains as grooving and as upbeat as it has been!
