WCI issues notices

Women commission of India has issued notices to all the mojor production houses demanding an answer as to why the women are potrayed in such evil light. They are also questioning why there is so much negativity in the soap operas nowadays that is making difficult for people to watch a program together as a family especially the ones being aired at prime time slots of family entertainment. The complaints has been launched against various major production houses after many viewers especially the housewives complained about the content of the programs. They complained that either have to lock the channels or prevent children from watching programs wherein multiple spouses, killing children, extra marital affairs, murders and s**ually explixit scenes have become order of the day to boost TRPs.The production houses have been served notices to explain the same and an application has been forwarded to make laws more strict to control the content to be aired in the judicial system

This news was aired on a news channel-Aaj Tak last evening and repeated in the afternoon.. Can we hope for some positivity now.Share your views

Power to the women...hope they can get the laws changed and make sure the offenders get maximum fines too...if the penalty for breaking is lenient than it will be worthless.

Man these women are so active they always seem to be taking up issues to do with serial 👏 👏 would it not be easier not to watch with so much choice now.

Well It was said that the content will be judged and then aired . If the Production houses refused to adhere to the policies and laws tyhe serial will be taken off air and production house will be fined.

they will be fined... that's good... at least it will stop them from showing unnecessary killings and all those gross staffs like burning people alive and blood...

I sure hope the fine is a really large amount that way people will obey the rule otherwise they won't...

I agree totally with WCI..I hardly see men as the villains in the show these days. They are accomplices and side kicks, not the evil perpetrators or heroes anymore.

In some cases, they do rape women...but generally speaking, I see talk of more women as the villains these days...

Not sure, if you are supporting the Contents, but how can you avoid TV altogether. Can you do it?

The issue is, if a program is coming at Prime time which means the whole family is watching it , the contents of the program should be kids friendly and comfortable for a family to watch together.

If you have to show , Adult program, then it should be a little late at night and then it is my choice to watch it , knowing what I will see, if I want my kids to watch it or I can sit with my MIL,BIL and FIL in the same room to watch it.

You are really being "Ekta's Angel" in saying , then don't watch it :)

well the serials are waay too Indian custom. Women are just as good as men are and we CAN DO anything a man can do...dont overthink that

i dont think its women but all men are shown in bad light, poor things they r shown as the cause of misrey for the women, they r shown as brainless , stupid and leas concerned about what is going around(atleast all kekta's male actors r shown like that.).
