He definitely should stand up to Jigs about the Rano issue!!!
Would love to see that!!! Him telling Jigs that she is now a Walia daughter and as such should be treated as such ... sort of take on the role similar to Amitabh in Babul!!!

I definitely agree with you. Would love to see a babul storyline play out rather than having a 2 day forced drama od raashi crying and Ranveer marrying Rano. I want them to take it slowly and develop it nicely. Both Arunima and RK have the acting chops to pull it off brilliantly. I don't care if it is ultimately Ranveer or Nattu who marries her but I want them to tell the story right.

I understand that jigzz id grieving. Also the ladies that they show as the guests always drive me nuts. Who does that at someone's else's house when they are grieving. Jigz is not in her right frame of mind and someone needs to stand up to her. I feel JW is the only one who can do it in thsi situation.

When I saw the scene between Jigs and Rano, I too felt that the Baabul issue was brought to the fore this time on small screen. Yes, JW should exercise his point as the stand-in father for Rano. Even in the movie, Hema Malini's character was against progession for a widow i.e same as Jigs. This is a wonderful storyline that has a lot of potential to develop an eyeopener for the masses as you mentioned. Love to see how JW encourages Rano to live her future out , develop a father-daughter relationship with her. Maybe in the future JW finding a prospective groom for her etc. This is a much better storyline , novel , addressing an issue that plagues our indian society rahter than baby switching, baby kidnapping etc.

Babul I felt was handled much better. The Hema character was all for treating Rani like a daughter but where I think she got selfish was the fact of losing her grandson which is understandable. I feel if Rani did not have the baby Hema would have been all for the marriage. She was the one who told rani to wear colors go out and meet friends.

What they are showing in KS is just exttreme reressive attitude by jigz.

I agree a babul storyline handled right would be riveting watch rather than the drivel they are currently showing in KS. I would take it anyday over having to see Pia going my son is the rightful heir to the walia fortune. More so because anrunima is a much better actress than RC.

Meg, I stand corrrected on Hema's character and pov. Yes Baabul was handled much better. Nevertheless, KS has created an opportunity to address a similar issue. Here they are showing Jigs in a diff light from Hema. Jigs is by nature selfish and Hema's character was the opposite. Moreover Jigs is mourning her son's loss and lamenting how no one seems to care for her departed son. She wants everyone to keep mourning as she is. In Baabul, Hema's character had come to terms with her son's death. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that in Baabul Salman said his last goodbye before departing. Here there were no last goodbyes. Plus the relationship between Amit-Hema was a strong pillar of support for one another and here Jigs and Adi share one confused relationship. I still see Adi as spineless in front of Jigs.
Her reaction towards Rano was very much instigated by the gossip-mongers. She has always to been shown to be worried about other people's view etc. I am surprised that no other family member said anything. Is it bec they felt she was just expressing her grief? Maybe others will speak up today if not JW.
You are right about Anurima being a better actress.
This may also be a chance for the creatives to work on Jigs-Adi relationship. Create some magic there.

meghna i am not very sure (keeping in mind the track record of KS of butchering interesting plots and characters) that they will treat this issue in a mature way......i only hope that they do not make it into another sham insulting the sentiments of the viewers.....minus the emotional factor of the situation
they have a habit of wrapping up sitations which need handling and prolonging issues that shld be long buried

babul was a sensitively potrayed and well handled story of one of the major issues in india.....if KS treats this plot half as maturely alas.......
