Hey all!

We're a month into the show and so far the story seems to be going at a nice pace although still unsure of where exactly it is headed to. So I'm here to take a look at how they have shaped the lead characters of this show: Devika and Ravi.

Devika:

Born into a family in which boys are valued more than girls with a grandmother who seems to want to get her married and get rid of her, Devika's character is one that is suppressed when she's at home but can be overly oppressive when she is out on her own. She is seen as Ambe Maa's bhakt ever since she suffered a childhood experience in which Ambe Maa protected her and completely puts her faith in spirituality. True that she has Ambe Maa's blessings but I feel that she is too suppressed in her own home and doesn't take a stand for herself as much as she does when she is with Ravi. Initially shown to be a quiet but intelligent character, her character went through a slight change when she meets Ravi. All of a sudden, gone is the quiet girl and she is more outspoken and yes definitely opinionated and biased. What isn't working for me is the fact that she is shown to believe that all men are the same. When the whole issue with Tanu happened, she slapped Ravi and accused him of attempting to rape and never even gave him a chance to speak and defend himself. And even when he does, she seems to be firm in her decision that men simply try to defend themselves when they are caught in the act. Another, she seems more resentful of Ravi than Saket even though Saket himself has been rude to her in some occasions. However; I am glad to see some character development happening with her as she begins to question her thoughts about Ravi. If moulded in the right way, I feel Devika's character can be one of the most strongest and inspiring characters for women.

Ravi:

A womaniser and a strict 3-Date-Guy who is kind-hearted and hard working. Not the most common image of men that we see on television for a male protagonist but this works for the show. For a man who has never really liked commitment, Ravi is shown as an ambitious guy who dreams of becoming an architect. One of the things that he can commit to in life. His lack of faith in Ambe Maa is one that pulls in the viewers for it is a confirmed beginning of a hate-will-turn-into-love tale, but at the same time it is something that has been common in shows when the female protagonist is strongly religious. Introduced as a womaniser, Ravi's character is shown to be kind-hearted regardless if he's rough around the edges with the little things he does such as save Devika before she falls from the back of Saket's bike, or even fight off goons who were misbehaving with Tanu. For a man to understand the difference between "consensual" and "non-consensual" creates the character in a more positive light and goes against Devika's theory of "all men are the same" theory. Specially when we know that Devika getting a job was due to Ravi (an act of repaying a debt). What doesn't work for me? Two things. One of them is the fact that he seems to share the same "jump to conclusions" mentality with Devika. Since the whole thing happened with their Ravi's Mom and Devika's Grandmother in the jail, I was hoping that one of the two of them would be more sensible and will try to work through the issue. But I was wrong. Number Two: This isn't really a character development thing but I think the article explained it quite well. As much as us girls love to see a good looking drool worthy guy go shirtless on television, it's quite unnecessary.

Verdict?

In one month's time, the CVs have created some potentially strong characters that just have to be developed a bit more. I still feel that the CVs are still unsure where they want their characters to go and still seem to be experimenting with their traits and I am hoping that they will be over their dilemma soon. Both Devika and Ravi share many similarities that although brings out a beautiful chemistry between them but also can be slightly frustrating when all they do is fight with each other with a romance scene thrown in there once every while. I would like to see their story develop a bit more with the upcoming track with Saket and hopefully they can come together on the same page and...well...not really sure where the show is headed as of yet but hopefully something good will come out of it.

So yeah. Those are my thoughts so far. Feel free to discuss your thoughts and I'll be looking forward to reading our responses! 😊

Good Analysis 👏👏

I think Ravi and Devika actually has more similarities than differences 😆 .. the only difference they hv is Devika believes in God and Ravi does not believe in God .. Other than that they both r similar in nature .. both r ambitious and wants to make it big with their hard work so that their family can b proud of them , both dont believe in shortcuts to success but wants their work to do the talking , both r talented and creative and like u said both r a bit judgemental too when it comes to each other 😆 ,plus both r good human beings with a good heart which we hv seen on number of occasions ...

I think office track will slowly develop their story beyond hate and nok jhoks .. they might slowly start discovering each other and all this MUs might fade away slowly ...

Both characters r quite head strong .. they hv their share of positives and negatives too .. lets see how it goes ..

Great analysis👏
Well as per me there are only two things that should be mended
One is that the cvs should decide whether Devika is a shy girl or outspoken girl. Because if they wanna convey that Devika is a bit harsh towards ravi coz of his nature then she should be same with that saket as she knows he is not a good person
Second the cat fights between Ravi and Devika should stop, or at least should not be on petty little things. I really feel that I'm watching Tom and Jerry inanimate version
