Chapter 48

Maithili ran upstairs to Adi's room and flipped the pillows. She smirked as she found her history project fine under there

A: how did you know it would be there!

M: because Mr.Buddhu! I know where you hide all your stuff!

A: I don't hide ALL my stuff under my pillows!

M: oh yes you do!

Maithili flipped up his other pillow and found a card under there. She lifted it up and red the front…

Dear…

With Love Adi…

M: ohhh!!! You're in Lurveeeee

Maithili teased adi

A: maithili come on yaar! Give it here

M: no no! let me read further!!

Maithili opened the card and began reading the first lines..

Har Subah tumhe dekhta hoon

Aur apne din a shuruaat karta hoon

M: ohhh!!! Toh adi…subah subah tum kisse dekhte ho? Kanta ben…our maid

Maithili burst out laughing and ran to the other side of the room

Bharat came into the room and stood confused

M: bharat! Adi's written a love letter!!! Poetry!!!

B: ohhh!!! Then I'll just have to hear it

A: maithili stop it! Give it back!!

Maihtili ran next to bharat and started reading again

Tum itni khoobsurat ho ke tumhe dekhte hi mai soojata hoon

Tum mere khayaloon main…

Tum mere dhadkan main

Tum mere har sapne mein mujhe satati ho

Maithili started giggling with laughter as she and Bharat mocked adi

Adi stood seething at both of them

"kitna bakwaas poem hai!!" bharat mocked and so did maithili

M: wait wait..bharat, there's more..

Main tum par deewana hua

Toh aaj bata ta hoon…

Maihtili I…LOVE YOU

Her breath caught in her throat and choked her.

Adi looked angrily at her and bharat. He snatched the card away from Maihtili

M: adi…i…

A: oh don't you think its you!!

M: me…

A; its nothing to do with you!! I don't like you! I hate you!

M: adi…my name

A: you think you're the only maithili in this world!!!

M: adi…she advanced towards him..

M: I'm sorry…mai jaanti hoon…this card was for me…right?

A: no it..

But before Adi could say anything, maithili quickly kissed him on his cheek.

Adi stopped mid way..

Both stared at each other not knowing what to do or what to say

He smiled slightly and she smiled back. He moved his head closer to hers till his nose lingered above her face. Teasingly brushing her forehead with his own, he was about to kiss her, when the door opened.

"ADDIIIII" a girl came into the room causing adi and maithili to break apart..

A: uh..shaniah…

S: adi! kaha the tum! I was waiting for you!

A: shaniah I have to tell you something…

S: ha ha…do it later…now come!

Adi was led awayby Shaniah while maithili watched the two.

Shaniah quickly kissed aid on his lips and hugged him

S: I have news to tell you!!!….

Maithili's eyes widened as she watched adi hug her back…she kissed him on his cheek and he hugged her again

Once shaniah went, maithili steped up to adi

Raising her hand, she slapped him

(end of flashback)

Adi felt an arm fall on his own. He stared at maithili and her position. Her eyes still closed and her hand on his. Adi smiled lightly and gently placed his free hand on top of hers. He remembered all the times he tried to tell her what he felt but was either too scared or was too angry to do anything about it. Today he was finally admitting he hand any feelings for her

Adi looked at her creaseless face on the pillow. He edged his face closer to hers and gently kissed her forehead…

"I love you maithili…"

Note…this is a rubbish poem..but its just to highlight how bad adi writes poetry…😆
