So sorry! I typed up most of it but was too sleepy to finish last night so I was going to finish and post early morning but my laptop did a software update overnight so both stories got deleted😭...Just got free from work so typed up the short one shot again...only have a little bit left...will post in about 30 mins.

Setting: Post B&B wedding but for our peace of mind, pretend that HC drama never happened and DBS version didn’t exist (just for the stories sake, then we can go back to being angry with him😉)

It was a normal morning and the house was just waking up to start their daily routines. The ladies were up early as usual and the gents and youngsters were slowly following behind them. After getting ready, Sua Aai, Mai, and Panna were walking out into the veranda talking about what to make for breakfast to follow the usual round of chais when they see Babi Atya and Bhaskar entering the house with Deepali and Ovi.

Babi: Good morning everyone!

Mai: Are tum log itni subha subha yeha?

Bhaskar: Mai, Appu aur Shashank ne kal raat ko call karke hum sab ko bulaya

Deepali: Ha, par kyu ye nahin bataya. Ab aap logon ki wajah se mujhe aur Ovi ko bhi itni subah aana pada.

As everyone ignores her usual cribbing, the rest of the family comes into the scene and meets Babi. Mai tells Mansi and Prachi to bring chai for everyone while they proceed to the living room to talk.

Bhaskar: Are Shashank aur Appu kaha hai? Hume bulakar voh dono gayab hai!

Suddenly, Mansi and Prachi come running towards the family.

Mansi: Mai, Appu kitchen mein hai aur kisiko andar bhi nahin aane de rahi hai!

Sua Aai: Hai bhagwan, ab kya bana rahi hai ye ladki? Koi Shashank ko bulakar lao. Ab toh sirf vohi Appu ko rok saktha hai.

Prachi: Yehi tho sabse badi problem hai Kaku. Shashank Dada Appu ki help kar raha hai!

Everyone runs out towards the kitchen to see Shashank standing outside the closed doors. He looked tired and exasperated but at the same time happy and excited, a reaction that can only be brought in him by Appu.

Kukki: Shashank, tum yeha kya kar raha hai? Aur Appu ko kitchen mein kese jaane diya? Voh bhi akele?

Sua Aai: Aur Appu kar kya rahi hai? Ab phirse kitchen ka satyanaash hoga!

Shashank: Aai, calm down. Aapki ladli bahu itna bhi buri nahin hai. Phirse vohi galti nahin karegi.

Shocked, Amey: Ye tu bol raha hai?

Before anyone could react more, Sarika Atya, Sumi and Nikhil also enter the house wishing everyone good morning.

Sarika Atya: I’m sorry ki mein ese subha agayi par Shashank ne call kiya kal raat ko tho mujhe aana pada. Shashank, Appu ne kuch kiya kya? Sab thik hai na?

Shashank: Atya, don’t worry. Sab thik hai. Apurva chathi thi ki aaj aap hum sab ke saath ho isliye maine call kiya. Actually, voh chathi thi aaj sab log saath ho, so maine sab ko call kiya.

Nikhil: Are par kyu? Aaj kya special hai? Aur Appu kaha hai?

Mansi: Appu kitchen mein hai! Kuch bana rahi hai aur Bhauji hame andar bhi nahin jaane de raha hai.

Sumi: Dada, aapne Appu ko kitchen mein khana banane jaane diya?

Prachi: Pata nahin ab konsi nayi dish banayegi! Dragon Shahi Puran Poli Part 2 na ho bas! Dada, aapne Appu ko jaane kese diya?

Shashank: Kyunki pehli baar mujhe iski pagal idea bahut acha laga.

Kukki: Amey, mujhe pinch karo. Mein koi sapna tho nahin dekh raha hu na? Shashank Appu ki taariff kar raha hai aur uska saath bhi de raha hai?!

Amey: Ye humari Shashank hi hai na?

Shashank: Kuch bhi! Don’t worry, Apurva pichli baar ki tarah koi pagalpanti nahin karegi. Meine khud uski recipes check kiya aur usse jo saaman chayye usse dilakar aaya hu.

Mai: Are par kyu?

Shashank: Iska jawab aap sab ki ladli Appu dhegi. Mein tho aaj sirf uski assistant hu.

At the same time, Appu opens the doors and greets everyone!

Appu: Good morning everyone! Surprise keliye sab ready hai?

Sua Aai: Appu, kya kar rahi ho tum? Konsa surprise?

Appu: Batati hu. Sab batati hu. Abhi aap log chalo mere saath! She loops her hands into Sua Aai and Sarika Atya’s arms to take them into the kitchen. Khadus, follow me!

Shashank: Yes ma’am! He also grabs Panna Kaku and Babi Atya and follows Appu while asking Amey to bring Mai and Deepali with him.

They all enter the kitchen with the rest of the family coming behind them only to be stunned at the view once again. The most shocking part was that it was the exact opposite of their expectations. The counters were neat and everything looked like it was in it’s place. But the best part was the dining table, laden with their amazing breakfast items, that were all the favorites of the ladies.

Appu, with the help of her Khadus, seats the ladies at the table and then brings out a small cake and yells out “Happy Mother’s Day!”

The ladies look around amazed at this new event while the rest of the family stands shocked!

Sarika: Appu, ye sab kya hai?

Appu: Are Atti, aaj Mother’s Day hai na. Aur aap sab tho mothers ho, so aaj aapko celebrate karna hai so Happy Mother’s Day.

Ovi: Par ye sab toh aapki Mumma nahin hai na. Aapko tho apni mumma ko wish karna hai, inn sab ko kyu? Mai tho sirf apni Mumma ko wish karti hu.

Appu excitement goes away hearing Ovi’s words while Deepali smirks looking at Babi.

Gathering herself Appu explains to Ovi: Esa nahin hai Ovi ki sirf apni janam dene wali mumma ko hi wish karna hai. Meri mom tho mere life mein nahin thi par meri Atti mere liye meri mumma hi ha. Jab mein upset hoti ya bimar hoti hu toh Atti meri care karti hai na so she is my mumma. Aur Sua Aai bhi toh meri mumma jese hai. Mujhe khana banana sikathi hai aur mujhe pyaarse scold bhi karti hai aur samjhati bhi hain. Aur Mai, Panna Kaku aur Babi Atya bhi toh ye sab karte hai na sirf mere liye par hum sab keliye. Issliye, ye sab hum sab, I mean mein, Khadus, Amey Dada, Sumi, Prachi, Mansi Vahini aur Nikhil Dada, hum sab keliye mother’s hai. Issliye aaj unhe celebrate karna chayye aur uhne special feel karwana chayye. Actually, yeh toh everyday karna hai par aaj sab se zyada, like a birthday.

The ladies standing around were speechless by Appu’s innocent gesture and looked towards the family to see that they too were unable to react. Before they could say anything more, Appu runs out of the kitchen claiming she forgot her camera.

Mai: Ye ladki kab kya karti hai, kuch pata nahin hota!

Panna: Sarika Tai, ye har saal esa hi karti hai kya?

SA: Nahin nahin, matlab har saal woh mujhe wish zaroor karti hai par uske baad hum dono bas shopping ya parlor mein jaate. Par esa subha subha utkar khana banana! Ye sab pehli baar kiya!

Sumi goes and hugs Sua Aai: I’m sorry Aai, aap log hum sab keliye itna karte hai aur ye hum sab bahut lightly lete hai.

Prachi also hugs her mother: Ha aur hum sab aapko ye batana bhul jaate hai ki aap humare liye kitna important hai.

Amey: Sachme Mai, thank you and I love you.

Shashank: Aur sabse badi baat, hum log iss baat par kabhi zyada sochte hi nahin ki hum chaaron tho aur bhi zyada lucky hai ki humare pass ek nahin balki chaar chaar maa hai. Mai, Aai, and Panna Kaku tho hai hi, par Babi Atya bhi hum sab ko hamesha apni bacchon ki tarah treat karti hai so thank you!

As the youngsters hug their mothers, the rest of the family watches them in tearful delight.

DK: Ek choti si baat se itni khushi mili hai. Aur ye saab Apurva ki wajah se.

SA: Par Shashank, ye saab kese kiya Appu ne?

Shashank: Are pucho mat Atya, ek hafte se meri vaat lagi hui hai. Pehle tho bahut chitra vichitra ideas lekar aayi, ki theme parties karte hai, aap sab ko western dresses mein dance karvayi, aur pata nahin kya kya. Par meine usse bahut mushkil se samjhaya aur phir usne finally decide kiya ko woh aap sab keliye breakfast banayegi.

Nikhil: Aur tu ne ha kaha?

Shashank: Are nahin, phirse fusion dishes banane wali thi, tho meine usse kuch simple si recipes print karke dhi aur saara groceries jo chayye laakar dhi toh voh maani. Ek hafte se inn sab ki planning chal rahi thi aur voh itni excited thi ki kal raat ko na khud soyi aur na mujhe sone dhi.

Gang: Acha???

Shashank: Tum logon ki soch ko break lagao! Mere matlab hai ki voh subah 3 baje se cooking kar rahi thi so that aap sab ki utne par saara khana ready ho! Aur ha, aaj aap log koi kaam nahin karogi.

Appu comes back and joins in: Yes, aaj saari ladies parlor jaayenge aur phir hum sab lunch aur dinner bhi baar hi karenge.

Mai: Are waah! Aho! Bologi nahin “Paisa kya jhada lagtat?”

DK: Nahin aaj main kuch nahin bolunga! Jo tum ladies karna chathi ho karo par thoda dhyan se!

The whole family cheers, including Ovi who couldn’t resist the loving environment despite her mother trying to pull her away. Appu makes the moms stand together in front of the table and gets ready to take pictures as they cut the cake and start a new tradition in Kanetkar house.

Haha episode was actually very funny! def watch it!

It was just the 10 seconds of Appu's bayankar imagination. She is sleeping at night and imagines DBS & HC dancing together...all of 10 seconds but he twirls her, kisses her hand and hugs her. (Chetan looked soo unconformable in that hug!!!😆)

And then a minute later, we see Sua Aai imagining VB with another woman and the woman is feeding him apples 🤣

That's why I said superb MIL/DIL jodi...kya imagination hai dono ki! 🤣
