That is exactly what makes his plight more pathetic. None of her accusations are on mistaken premises and HE KNOWS IT TOO. His scruples will hurt him more than her reaction.

Though there is nothing wrong in his intentions, his actions, knowingly and unknowingly did lead to sorry fates. He cannot deny that HE trained Khalil. The Khalil who destroyed Durga. But like Sir Alfred Nobel was initially given credit for inventing the dynamite that 'makes it possible to kill more people at one time' before he issued the trust for Nobel Prizes to be remembered differently, Khan Sahib will have to bear the cross for moulding beasts like Khalil before his innate goodness gives him the image he actually deserves.

And yes. He used his gentlemanliness to impress upon Heera to retrieve the information he wanted. The very gentlemanliness that created flutters in her and misled her to fall in love with him. He knew it and yet chose to remain indifferent. The harm he caused her was not physical, but nevertheless it did not make a difference like the knife that was not thrust into him yet. And he knew that as well. Fate has repaid him with his own coin.

Though the voice of hard reason does ring somewhere in my mind that he deserves this, yet his lack of evil intentions and recent desperation and efforts tip my sympathy in his favour at present.😕

Again a beautiful chapter. Was expecting this kind of reaction from sahiba, but did not expect so much hate that she will lift a dagger against him. Now akbar has a long long way to go untill he gains back love and trust of sahiba. Poor guy found his heart his love of life and for the time being lost her. While reading the story i was imagining chetan hansraj as khalil😆.
