No, I was not put out by your post. Why should I be? I did not agree with the tone, however, and in any case I was going to write my take on it, so I did just that. It was not a reaction to your post, though it was posted as a response to it.

I did not think Rajat looked cute, not to speak of super cute, but that is probably your age group's reaction😉. He looked OK, and not particularly well dressed, but then most young people these days look as though they have run out of fresh clothes and have raided the laundry basket!😉

As for his shaking his leg, I have never seen any of his other interviews, but it looked to me like a tic, an involuntary movement. He looked quite detached, but maybe that is the way he is all the time, I do not know.

Let us not get into wanting to believe that he is an independent performer please. It sounds like Donjas, who strongly disapproved his going in for yet another historical instead of a " new and challenging role". Yes, but where are they, these new and challenging roles? Rajat has waited a year for this role. If he was so independent a performer, why did he not get another big project as soon as Jodha Akbar was over?

Mohit Raina, who is as good an actor as Rajat in a different way, waited 16 months after Mahadev to play the adult Ashoka, and now it is going to shut up shop in less than 6 months after he came on board. Viraf Patel, tall and enigmatic, with a very mobile face, who was wonderful in Yashraj's excellent Kismat 5 years ago, has been seen since in just one show, Ek Boond Ishq, where he was very good, and now has resurfaced in Mahesh Bhatt's Naamkaran.

It is very tough out there, my dear girl, and if an actor sits on the bench for too long, he risks being altogether forgotten. For Rajat to get such a larger than life role in a big production is something to be grateful for, and I can fully understand why he is so demonstratively appreciative of the Empress of Balaji. He must have been told about this role even before Jodha Akbar was wound up, for that was only a little over a year ago. And it is not so much dependence as gratitude, and for a young actor, it is always wise to stay in her good books and not try to sound smart alecky. She has so much more that she can offer him in the years ahead, especially in films. Plus I am sure she is very touchy and expects periodic doses of homage!

As for the dal roti comment, it was clearly a joke, he was laughing softly and all the others grinned. And he did say something, after she finished her spiel about the National award, about respecting her work, but he mumbled so much that I could not make it out properly. In any case, he is not outgoing and bubbly the way she is.

But as for smoothing out the rough edges, I agree with you. Maybe it will happen over time.

Pinkvilla was giving live updates about the press conference!! Aparently Ekta kapoor praised Rajat Tokas a lot..She said Rajat is the blue eyed boy of television & it feels great to work with him..Also she said he is extremely dedicated & shy & he took almost 5 months to prepare for this role

aunty, i agree with u. i guess on TV strong & challenging roles especially for a male actor is not a cake walk. & why not another historical?? its thousand times better to play such a role rather than playing a male lead in most of the modern shows today. rajat had played them quite successfully so why not another one. why an actor playing more than one costume drama is tagged stereotype & not the guy playing more than one modern role?? btw in this one yr rajat didnt try for anything else. he had stuck to cgm only & inbetween did naagin. so we cant say wht would have happened if he had tried but there was no surety also he would have got the type of role tht suits him. i will never want him to do roles like naagin's hero or bramharaksas hero or ahemji naitikji type roles.

@lavi, u told ur point i told mine. matter is over. i never questioned ur admiration or liking for rajat i just expressed my point. its nothing to do with whether i like him more or u like him more.

Do not miss the interview of Ekta about the theme of the show Chandra Nandn..she talks about the show at that time from ehich we will get a very deep idea about the theme of the show...The interview is there in the very same video of the launch!!😊
