mansi 👍🏼...
loved ur post however i disagree on the silliness statement. As for me i think we can see the contrast of Ruqaiyya, Salima, Jodha n even Javeeda here. ...Everyone had their own way of doing things here...
dun hit me guys... 😆 i think jodha is not totally wrong. She did not want to participate but then she was forced too, she was happy to hear Hameeda explaination n decided she should have a stall. here im unable to tell whether Jalal words or hameeda words effected her more. Im going with hameeda words coz she respect n treat her like her own mum.
Riyya, once she has decided to participate (whether for Jalal or for Hameeda) then all I am expecting is minimum decency and politeness, I am not expecting anything big or grand as a gesture from Jodha! So if she is feeling "forced" to participate she should not have participated, or else if she decided to join in, then she has to preserve some degree of behaviour in a public place! That my feeling!
Ruqaiyya once again proved that she wants to be 1st n the best. Too my suprise i dun see any cracks in ruqaiyya Jalal r/ship, i wonder how will Jodha Jalal come into play. I agree on your post that mc had not brought this lady anything... Shes still the same b4 now mayb in future 2. Why should she worry, All the attention is on her n Jalal proved it again yday. It was her stall that he visited earlier... then salima n then Jodha. Im not sure whether im reading too much but i feel that even Jodha n Jalal gets close ruqaiyya will still be no. 1 , salima no. 2... im not saying just in ranking position but overall everything...i myself wonder how will Jodha Jalal work now... coz when they start to get close, i dun want Jalal giving anything to ruqaiyya / salima. Im not afraid of salima but ruqaiyya here.
Yes, maybe Ruq will still be No. 1 and Salima No. 2 ... but the passion will go to Jodha! And at that time the other begums need to see whether the position of No. 1 and No. 2 feels sufficient or they also want "passion" from Jalal which they may never get! But what I don't like in this Jalal-Ruq equation is that Jalal is telling Ruq too much of what happens between him and his other begums. If he has three wives, that's fine, but why not keep his relationship with each one private to that one, and why share his private stuff with one wife with another wife? Yesterday Jyoti was asking: Will he similarly share with Jodha all that happens between him and Ruq?
Salima - to be honest yes shes dignified but i seriously dun like her interaction with Jalal. For God sake this woman says she loves BK but shes trying to gain his attention too. i say wat the 😉 i know Jalal is her husband but i still cannot accept it ... bas 😆...
See this Salima's role is going to become important, is my feeling! When jalal falls in love with Jodha and has problems with expressing it, he can either go to his mother Hamida or Salima. Hamida, I feel mixes up love and religion and all that and is too much of an older generation person for Jalal to relate to properly on this matter. He has also not really seen the love between his own mother and father as he was too young when it was all over! Whereas Jalal knows of how deep the love was between Salima and Bairam. he has seen it himself from both sides. Salima's advice will be more relevant to Jalal.
Javeeda - 😆... Shes funny but i find it strange when she gets more screen space these days...😆
I think whenever the Creatives want to make fun of the villain, they use Javeda instead of Jodha! Javeda seems better at puncturing Maham than Jodha!
Jodha : I dun think she has done anything wrong. This girl is really totally not in her world. In fact both Jodha n Jalal are gone case, They dunno wat they want. One thing that i find interesting Jodha put up a color stall there... isnt interesting... All others have something to sell but she has color to sell...😆... Shes inded different so her attitude towards Jalal 2... I dun expect her to talk sweetly with Jalal just bcoz shes gonna leave soon or just for showing off purpose. Shes being herself... Shes nice with all others but with jalal... actually more than Jalal i pity Jodha...😭... its scary to even be with a guys one time his mood is like this, one time like that ... Everything that happen in AGRa jodha is blamed ... i know Jalal did say sorry after that... but can a sorry heal all the pain caused... it cannot but it can only be like sense of regret from that person saying that sorry... i dun think jalal does not now what marriage mean for a rajput woman but im glad he did give her choice to leave n to stay...😳
I think theres post bt morons ki malika on the color white cloth n all... but i think it was a nice gesture from Jodha to take the white n color it with pink... N guys be happy shes doing it calmly, If i would have been jodha i would have taken all the color n just throw on Jalal...😆... Neway jodha did give a hint there, I will Make ur life colorfull but in my own way bas 😆...
I think Jodha does like Jalal... she likes him even though she thinks hes jallad...Jalal do like her... but what i like in Jalal these days hes not like obssesed with Jodha but hes making way for her... I mean making things better for her even though sometimes it turns vice versa...😆
Yes even I think that Jodha and Jalal do at some level like each other better now. But their egos are standing in the way of acknowledging that their feelings are undergoing change. She sounds shrewish partly maybe because she is trying to hide her changing feelings under an ego trip. And he is also changing, but as you say, his fuse is short and any minute he can go back to being a fiend! We can't trust his steadiness!

No idea why Jodha is acting stupid. May be she is too stressed after all the drama of MC and blame game. Even before she heaved a sigh, MA came and troubled her by saying, that no matter however much you try, Jalal will only believe me and you can't change that fact. NOw after this incident, even if do a crime in front of his eyes, then also he will think, I did it for some future good and will never be evil. The more you blame me, the more rift between you.
the comes teh shehnshah and lashes out that she needs to have a stall in the exhibition and as an afterthought he adds, don't reveal the fact of your back journey to Amer. She is confused. Then knowing her inhititance about teh stall, Hamida Begum manofies her to have a stall in Meena Bazar but fail to tell her that keep something which attracts your hubby as he is gong to be your customer. She got teh idea of colours once she saw her comapnians duppatta with some colour but when she installed teh stall, least she knew that Shehanshah will visit her stall. When he made it and questioned her about the reson for her comodity, she gets flared up. " like the ocen tides on a full moon day" and with attitude she says I don't need to tell you. Pity even then she was not aware that he is her customer, he had to spell. One thing is clear with Jodha that so far she didn't had teh habit of sharing thoughts with others or nobody had told her that even she will be questioned and she needs to answer then like any other. may be back in Amer, she was pampered by her brothers and parents, but she should have a reality check. If she continues with this fit of rage, so one can expect her Suicidal attempt as a despirate attempt to come out of all this confusion.
Previous day or few days back (I can't keep tab of the number of days as it changes to the wim and fancy of the CVs), she advised some strange people that one shuld not disrespect the shehanshah but here she did teh same thing in front his servents. Still he took it with his coolness and with pride and with such politeness he told her the White duppatta was his gift to her /(a husbands gift to his begum) Wow way to go Jalal. Hope Jodha wears that duppatta on HOLI
And what is it with Ruqaiya this time, She had a whole lot of duppattas in her stall?. Last time, if I remember, she had only one special shawl that too was not on teh showcase which was exclusivesly for Jalal. Even when he bought 3 duppattas and disclosed that they are for 3 of his special wive, she didn't flinch. so far she was claiming she is the only one who is speceial to him, what happened now? She didn't even thought once, who could be the other 2 who have joined her in the special list of Jalal. She just brimmed by saying they will cost him dearly. That much stupidity? HOw will her face turn when she realises one of the duppatta was for Jodha?
Don't want to think more about Jodha's suicidal attempt. Will wait for the CVs to give justification.

mansi I agree with some of your points and not with some of the others🤔Hope you dont take offence dear...
I agree about your reservations pertaining to Jodha...many jump to her defence that she's been wronged and that she's gone through more than any other...that she's a fighter and that she's in emotional turmoil...
Jalal is a fighter too and in emotional turmoil too...however, he's being civil to her..and the least she could do is be civil to him in public..she need not forgive him...she need not respect him inwardly...she need not need to have an ounce of concern for him...but, the very lady who rebukes people who talk ill of their shehenshah is doing the very same in public- this, doesn't make sense to me...especially her backlash at Jalal in the bazaar made no sense to me...
I supported her during the joda burning and even during the mirchi incident since her anger at those stages seemed more justified...howeverm her behaviour lately has no basis at all!
Salima has also been wronged...Jalal sent away her husband (according to her this could have been a disgrace on BK's lifelong devotion) after all BK was Jalal's father figure...and consequently BK ended up being assassinated there...yet, she doesn't hold that grudge against Jalal...
Basically, I'm not saying Jodha should be overtly sweet like Salima, but she need not be as acidic as she is being now...its not reflecting well on the dignity of a 16th century princess - however fiery or not!

I disagree about your opinions on Ruqaiyya...yes, she has a confidence and arrogance about her power over Jalal and her status in the harem...but, at least so far - it's only been proven right...she is the most powerful and Jalal does fancy her the most...she is intelligent and just like Jalal, overlooks the finer sentiments of life...they're pretty much made for each other like friends...his face lights up with genuine happiness whenever he sees her and her's with earnest joy whenever she sees him...whatever her faults, her belief on Jalal's capabilities and her loyalty to Jalal is still untainted! She might NOT be a good wife ...but, Jalal doesn't seem to want her as a wife...he wants her as an empress and as a friend- both duties, which she does perfectly me thinks!😳

Jaya:
That is a brilliant point you have made:
"Previous day or few days back (I can't keep tab of the number of days as it changes to the wim and fancy of the CVs), she advised some strange people that one shuld not disrespect the shehanshah but here she did teh same thing in front his servents."
And as regards, this Ruq's behaviour, she is confident for now, and yes, she does know the dupatta is for Jodha. But she is supremely confident because she thinks Jodha is going away. The real moments when we have to watch what happens to Ruq is when she realises that jalal is going to keep Jodha at Agra and after that when jalal falls in love with Jodha.
I am just waiting to see whether Ruq will find "friendship" with jalal sufficient or how she will change when the monster called "jealousy" really hits her! Because if jalal falls for Jodha the relationship of friendship with Ruq is surely going to change. Even if Jalal still treats her the same as always (as a dearest friend) if she finds that insufficient going forward then she is going to shake the relationship she has with jalal of her own volition. By expecting more she may end up getting less than before, though!
Let's wait and watch ...

I love your opinions whether they are for or against what I have written so no fear that I may take it wrongly! I never take it wrongly!
Accha, regarding your point about Ruq, I agree that is the position as of today. But we need to wait and watch what happens when jalal falls in love with Jodha.
See my reply above to Jaya on this same point, and tell me if you agree with what I have written to Jaya?

That is one hell of a great sentence you have written there. I have never seen such a good way of describing the Jalal-Ruq equation so far on this Forum:
Ruqaiya is more like a personal dairy to Jalal. The way one fills his dairy by end of the with the days happenings, he just shell out everything in front of Ruqaiya.
Wow! hats off!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Mansi, a jumbo 🤗 for this, and do look at mine, A contrary view, which I have just put up. Our takes overlap so much (except that I have not touched on Ruqaiya or Javeda at all) that you are hereby spared one of my comments that is usually longer than your post!😉

Once again,lovely stuff!👏

Friends, yesterday's episode, for me, was all about how some three silly women used their their stalls at the Meena Bazaar to sell their silliness! I am not sure if all of you will agree with my pick of the three silliest women in Agra that I have found, but as usual (anticipating your kind barrage of rotten tomatoes, footwear and other flying objects,) here goes ...

Silly Chick No. 1 and her dupatta stall:

Yes I am talking here about Ruqaiaya. And I know that most of you won't agree with me that she was one of the silly females on display at the Meena Bazar yesterday, but that's because she had some "relatively saner sounding" dialogues than the other two I am shortly going to write about. But Ruqaiaya was silly, for me, because of three reasons:

a. She continues to be in some high heaven of confidence that she will always - repeat always - be the belle of the ball at the Meena Bazaar

b. The Shahenshah buying the most expensive gifts at her stall is, according to her, a measure of her importance in his life

c. His pink dupatta, was his "first gift" to any of his begums and therefore she believes it marks her out

Notice how to Ruqaiaya, being the first, the most expensive, the best etc. is still the key thing in life! She has not changed one bit after the loss in the shatranj game and the more shattering miscarriage issue into valuing "ooncha darjah" less - and she still totally fails to value the finer sentiments behind the actions people take - notably the Shahenshah. Is she completely impervious to sentiment?

Ruqaiaya, if she had been any other woman, could well have asked herself: What does pink mean? Was his choice of dupatta colors for me symbolic? Was he trying to tell me something? Does he value my love? Do his eyes on me first, my stall, mean anything more? Even if he had bought the smallest thing from me, and I was the last stall he visited, would it mean anything less?

No such doubts or delicious thoughts assail Ruqaiya at all, because she has assumed that the Shahenshah is not capable of finer sentiments. That sentence not only speaks poorly of her assumption, but also very poorly of her judgement of the Shahenshah. She does him a grave injustice by believing him incapable of softer emotions. No one is ever devoid of softer emotions, and only an insensitive boor can believe that another insenstive boor exists in this world. And since Ruqaiaya, we are told, from a very young age, has remained consistent in her "priorities and judgement yardsticks" of anything, we can only assume that she stays locked in a time warp where an emotionally ungrown girl became friends with an emotionally ungrown boy.

I know that from the beginning of this serial Ruqaiaya's character has been steady in its minimalistic expectations of "soft sentiments" from the Shahenshah and maximalistic in its coveting of "audha" in any form. But I must confess I was hoping to see some small change at least in Ruqaiaya after the totally chastening experience of the miscarriage and all that went along with it. Everybody grows from setbacks, but the biggest silliness, if I may call it that, in Ruqaiaya yesterday was that she looks untouched by the whole miscarriage saga and has reverted to her normal mode in lightning quick time ... she is back to being "competitive" and "thrilled with attention" and if she has plenty of these two things, she is one satisfied and upbeat woman. She will ever remain silly, to me, because she will ever remain a "girl" and never let herself become a "woman"! Maybe her shock will come when she realises that her "boy" Jalal has decided its time to become a "man"!

Having said all that I must admit that there are moments when Ruq's eyes fill with tears showing she has some heart, or when she looks as if she's been touched in her vulnerability. But then again she herself shatters my hopes by lauding "audha" and "rank" in the very next sentence she utters. She reverts to type with too much alacrity and speed that it leaves me wondering if she was touched deeply enough. She also makes the mistake of taking Jalal's current dislike of Jodha as gospel for always. But he is going to change and that may be her challenge. We will have to see how she takes that when it comes.

Sillier Chick No. 2 and her paintings stall

Pooor Javeda, I should not be calling her silly at all. Because underneath the silly exterior that this girl puts up, there seems a hint of "inadvertent smartness" in knowing exactly how to nail Mahamanga like no one else can!

Javeda is overtly silly, and her speeches wear thin on me, not to speak of how they completely befuddle Maham herself. Javeda has a highpitched whiny voice that adds to the discomfort of hearing her. And finally she belabours her points to such a degree of silliness that her logic often is lost in the cascade of tripe that leaves her mouth.

That stall she put up of the "rare smiling portraits" of Maham did look rather silly in the larger Meena Bazaar scheme of things. Where other woman were displaying variegated wares, often precious, often lovingly hand-made, and often thoughtfully designed and displayed, Javeda had decided she would just sell the one sure thing, and she would try to sell loads of it. Now how many households in the Mughal Sultanate were yearning to cover their walls at home with a smiling Mahamanga? Maybe Javeda was counting on people obligated enough to buy the paintings or even feeling scared to be seen not buying them.

Eventually they were so embarassing that Maham bought the whole lot herself if only to rid the Meena Bazaar quickly of the stupidity and self-display of Javeda's "intelligence". It was funny how Maham at first thought it must be Ruqaiaya's stall looking at the "bheed" outside it, only to quickly find that her own priceless daughter-in-law was doing a "low-price" sale strategy to outsell competition!

But as they say, sometimes the stupidest people say or do the cleverest things. Javeda came into that category for me today - when she was silly enough to remind Mahamanga that "she too was a miscarriage suspect like Jodha and may decide to return to her maike" and when later she thought "a smiling Mahamanga is an object that has never been seen and may thus be of the rarest value" to the people of this Kingdom.

You know what friends, it was an utter pity that Jalal never visited Javeda's stall, because I would have given anything to just see his reaction to Javeda's wares! I doubt even Jalal has ever seen such an unrelenting display of Maham's smiles, and a lot of his respect for Maham would have vanished, I guarantee you, if he saw so many of Maham's teeth at one sitting!

Silliest Chick No. 3 and her Holi colors stall

Yes the prize goes to Jodha for her unforgiveable "ass-ness" yesterday. Here was Hamida taking the trouble to tell her the value of the Meena Bazaar in the cultural life of the Sultanate. And there was Jodha eventually deciding to participate with Holi colors on display. Having decided thus, where was the need to be the surliest and most disagreeable marketing person on the face of this earth when Jalal visited? He was, from the face of it, her only customer for the whole evening!

Jodha was ungracious, full of self-pride and downright rude to Jalal, when she said there was no need to explain her stall - to him of all insenstive people! In contrast, the Jalal we saw did not wear that usual smirk or sneer, he was all ears as he listened with equanimity even to this display of disaffection and disparagement, and he found he had the depth to counter her vile attacks with polish and patience and politeness.

Jodha did the crassest thing possible by defacing the dupatta of the "white shaanthi ka rang" with the most godawful pink smear she could have found, and she ruined the dupatta before his very eyes. I was at first wondering if there was some thought behind his deliberately buying the white colour for her (and almost expected that Jalal himself would sneer at me for thinking so), but he re-iterated that he had indeed applied mind to it and had bought the "aman ka saphed dupatta", so I can have no counts on which to deem him insensitive. He had clearly come with a peace offering and had made a point to greet and meet her with courtesy and even friendliness. And here, she sounded like a shrew, barking at him, deriding his "taste for fine things" and "lecturing him on the strategic value of colors in one's life" not realising how colourless was her own performance!

One can ask: is Jalal now being nice to Jodha because he knows she is going to leave? But we can also ask the reverse: does Jodha need to be so angry with Jalal, spouting bile at him two days before the date she was supposedly going away from his life forever. Even if it were ceratin she was leaving, could she not have left with more grace as she exited Agra? Could she not have tried not to spoil the beauty of the mela (which she herself was admiring earlier) with such unpleasant behaviour that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth?

It is to Jalal's total credit that:

a. He was unfazed by the barrage of verbal acid and actually remained with his wits and temper intact

b. He was able to show her that she was tasteless, the way she had ruined his gifted dupatta

c. He was still the loftier soul as he bought all her colours to re-gift them to her when he alllowed her to play Holi with her Hindu baandhis the next day

Has Jalal changed? Or is he in the throes of changing? I think the very fact that Jodha is leaving soon has made itself felt in his heart a wee bit, and so he definitely looks a bit softened. But we have to wait and see if he reverts to type when Maham complains to him about Jodha's throwing rang on her and Jodha then decides to jump into the lake to "wake him up", as she says!

I could fill more pages here with what I think of Jodha's rudeness yesterday, and how pleased I was with Jalal's behaviour in response. But I'll stop here. You all get the point, anyway!

The least silly woman and how she sold "dignity"

Salima, by sheer contrast with the other three sillies I have mentioned above, actually showed what dignity and grace was all about. She made the minimum of fuss about her ittar, waited for her customer (the Shahenshah) to compliment its quality and his fondness for it, and she spoke only when she was asked to explain how she knew it was his favorite. And then in one simple unfrilly sentence she said "It's the pleasure of a wife to know all her husband's preferences". In that one sentence, she not only showed her marketing acumen but also silently told him that even if she will always love Bairam Khan more (as he knows too!) she will still value Jalal in his capacity as her husband now! What nice words, what a gentle way to say it, what a nice place to say it all in, accompanied by the merest touch of the finest ittar!

Now to the three mysteries of yesterday's episode:

a. Who told Maham that Jodha was leaving? And will Maham later tell Jalal she got the news from Jodha herself, thus compounding his anger at Jodha and leading to more misunderstandings?

b. What's happening in the background to confirm or not confirm Jodha's leaving? Yesterday's episode was silent on this front, so it gives a sense of "something brewing".

c. What exactly will Jalal's reaction be when Maham complains to him about Jodha "deliberately defacing her white robes with Holi colour". There was a tweet from Zee asking if there would be the first bit of bad blood between Jalal and Maham now (and they showed this picture of Maham with a red face complaining to Jalal) so one got the feeling that maybe Maham would not be able to actually bite Jalal's ears with this Jodha-Holi colour story. But then we also had the suicide SBS segment yesterday showing Jodha reacting badly to Maham's sneaks to Jalal about herself and his subsequent anger with her. So which version do we believe? Maybe both? Maybe Jalal may snub Maham a bit, asking her not to make much of Jodha's playful accident - and he may then also go and berate Jodha for lack of propriety while playing her Holi?

All else is incidental now as I wait for suicide-cum-rescue and the "doubles" horse-ride back! For these small things do we live!
