Im gonna copy paste what i wrote in another thread here too. Hope you dont mind. đ Im reviewing all here.
The use of props is to enhance a dance. And not be the central focus. But since its their theme, so im gonna go with the flow.đBtw, i dont think anyone deserves 9-10s at least at this point of the show.
I guess Shahid said clearly that theme is to dance on a moving item (prop) with speed, motion and balance. Also the difficulty of prop is well noted. Probably to make it fair to all.
Radhika - Felt she was better than last week, quite challenging to do tango to a bollywood folk typish song. (it kept running in my head --- wrong song !) & also handle the harness. Probably a unique concept but not that great of execution. But there was difficulty level. I agree with KJo there were some messy steps in the middle. But end was impactful. She needs to be in the act from start to end.
Btw what happened to GH, he is the one of the only ones i trust. He picked on saying about her legs and face. Lol Btw i feel she needs to let a judge speak completely before thanking them.
Mohit - I liked how he managed to do some steps in the beginning before prop was used. Weird prop to use like SK said with its angular movements. N did justice & managed it well. I'm liking his growth.
Scarlett - She is amazing but needs to control her expressions. Can be OTT and loud at times. Choreo was letdown. Was disappointed. I think they are capable of better work and have X factor in them.
Ashish - Yes, he was enjoying himself. But I doubt he will go very far with the increased difficulty each week. He is cute to watch tho đ
Vivian - Yea difficult prop to use. But choreo is so smart to cover his non-dancing abilities. He is still stiff tho. Personally felt this is exactly what the theme was about (Atleast from judges POV) but very little dancing.
Kavitha - Wow man! That prop was so scary and one of the most difficult but i think they pulled off really well. I feel they always repeat their steps. Choreo needs more creativity there.
Shamita- I think very few female dancers in JDJ 8 have the natural elegance she has. And it was one of the best dances but very poor use of prop. It was like they added it for the sake of it. Was expecting dangerous lifts and stunts, but alas. After Scarlett- Dhiraj these 2 seem to be fire on stage. đł
Sanaya- I could see her back to normal self. But I felt really disappointed with her act. Due to choreo (lack of difficulty makes it way too simple, forgettable even). Cos it was freestyle and the slow moving threadmill. Wish they had attempted a different dance style with faster threadmill. Her expressions and energy saved the whole act. Agree with lauren about walking. Felt choreo saved the best moves for himself. Headstand and slide đ
Raftaar- Hmm.. not the best dancing but i think he isnt used well. Didnt agree with his scores too. Choreo was bad and so was the prop in my pov. And so i agree 100% with u.
Subreet -They started off well. Then were in the air once did the leg move. Then 2nd time went up did nothing. It was typical aerial act tho but i personally enjoyed it. But end was great with satin cloth part. The speed she turned đ˛ I think i was a good performance considering her condition. But i was also amazed at how well her choreo handles her. Cos with her condition if she fumbles, its so gonna be obvious but he prevents that so well. Agreed with GH, KJo comments đ So i dont agree with prosthetic leg part. She did what an aerial act would require.
Faisal - Different interpretation but i also felt if all took literal meaning then it would have been easy for all. Esp for trained dancers like themselves. Dance wise - innovative steps so kudos! But for first time in 3 weeks, i felt something missing. Kjo said they didnt allow it to become boring with energy and expression. But i felt it dragging. Music annoyed me too. Im sure they can do better.
Sorry for the length. đ
