I just mentioned here whatever I read in Wikipedia...and compared dance forms...
That Rope Mallakhamp is not a dance form and Martial art can be a dance form...
Because in some postsI read that he also did Martial art which is not a dance form like...So I came across about these in Wikipedia so mentioned here...

But that's the point I am making. The type of Martial Arts act Gurmeet did cannot be a Martial Arts dance form because the one he did was not either of those.
Making a general statement that Martial Arts is a dance form or that its sometimes performed in dances, I accept and agree with it.
But what Gurmeet did was NOT a Martial Arts dance (it didn't fit the very basic idea/definition of Martial Arts dance). His was a dance because it involved/incorporated regular dance movements/steps to some extent.
As I said earlier, the circumstances Martial Arts is performed as a dance are different to what Gurmeet did. I can't seem to put it in more clear and better words right now to explain it better...
If Gurmeet had done a stylised manner of Martial Arts dance (which is really different and I have seen it, the movements and the way it is performed creates a rythm and beat on its own so music is not really needed in such dances - it sets its own mood, its own pace, its own music etc) it would have been completely different as he would have focused on showcasing his technique - which the performance was not about and neither was the intention to showcase his Martial Arts technique.
If Gurmeet had done a War type Martial Arts dance (which it wasn't because the environment was not created such) then the music and beat would have been different - there the focus is on drum beat played live (mostly those war drums are used that inform of enemy's arrival and performed mostly just before the war starts [we are talking about old ancient times when war was fought on horses with swords etc as weapons]). That type of Martial Arts dance is performed to give the message that 'We are better. We'll survive this. There is much to look forward to after this war ends. We'll get to go home. Keep your fighting spirits high. We are all in this together. Either we fight to death and bring home honour or we die with honour.' That's the message of War dance. Gurmeet's performance did NOT have that message.
So you see, Gurmeet's was NOT either of these so calling it Martial Arts dance is WRONG. I have seen War Dance and Stylised Martial Arts dance performances so I know they are very different. Even the way they are performed, the mood that is set and created when these performances begin and end is different from Gurmeet's.
I am not talking about the story but the very basic idea of his performance. It was more about his internal fight to keep fighting all that pain due to injured arm - to keep doing what he loves to do and thus the mood/environment set/created was different. Even the way he was dancing was different - talking about his character here not Gurmeet-the-person.
I cannot explain it any better than this. If one hasn't seen these two types of Martial Arts dances performed with their eyes, I don't think they can really feel, see and tell the difference between Gurmeet's dance and these two dances so I don't blame you or anyone else.
(to everyone) Please STOP saying that Gurmeet's was a type of Martial Arts dance. It was not. It had about 30-40% Martial Arts moves and 70-60% dance steps or story telling.
p.s. anju, I never said anything about you saying Isha didn't do best in her act or you comparing Isha and GC's acts. I never mentioned Isha in my earlier post. My whole post was about Martial Arts Dance form and Gurmeet's performance in reference to the dance form - not about any other thing. Sorry if you felt I said anything else or targetted you or anything else. It was not my intention😳
p.s.s. me out of here. Will come back and post more when I can.
