Guys, don't EVER miss today's episode of SBS. It repeats tomorrow at 11:30 am IST, and the video will also be soon up on the SBS forum i guess. It was hosted by Mona and she took us back through JJKN memories.😛
She started by saying that we might be surprised to see her hosting today's epi, but it was about Sony TV's journey through 2006, and since she is called a "Sony kudi" 😉, she was chosen to host this epi. Mona was shot at her home, dressed in a salwar-kameez, looking well-groomed but with the light still missing from her face.😭 SO she started by talking about JJKN coming to an end this year 😭😭😭 : it brought happiness mixed with a lot of tears; the show had given her many friends, wonderful scenes to shoot (ahem ahem...just clearing my throat 😉) and the love of the viewers.
She showed an album full of her JJKN memories: the SBS secretary special shoot (MandA w/ Bebe and someone else, i didnt notice, beaming away 😳); Malaysia, where Mona was dressed in that green wedding outfit with her parents, KO trying to chipkofy as usual 😡; the last day of shooting at Mona's house.
Now comes the queetest part:😛
Mona was pointing to a pic where the cast was at her house on the last day, saying "This is mamma, this is Bebe, Veeruji (Billu) ,Guarav, Armaan....(pause😉) I mean....Apu."
Awwwwww so this means Apu was at her house on the last day...and she still calls him Armaan!!! Cho Cho Chweet!!!😳
There was another pic of her with Vedika and another with a local Malaysian kid whom she said she just "picked up" for the photo.😛 While talking about Vedika she said, "And this little girl played my daughter in the serial"....she did NOT mention who brought her there! 😈
Mona showed a glass cupboard full of awards that she had picked up as Jassi...then she moved on to other Sony shows, saying, "I've said a lot about JJKN...although talking about it can never be too much for me."😳👏 I guess she really misses it...she seemed pretty sentimental while talking about it, and even i felt a pang, missing my dearest show.😭
In between they showed the JJKN title song where Jassi becomes CEO, with the voice-over saying that probably no other serial had been as popular👏: the story of a middle-class girl who makes it on the strength of her hard work and the support of her family. Each character in the show had become memorable...Nandu, Bebe....and Jassi and Armaan's love story had also reached a successful conclusion. 😳❤️ A number of clips were shown: L'Oreal fashion fiesta where Jassi avoids Armaan; Jassi's anger and hurt when she discovers Armaan's deception; the makeover footage; JandA's engagement party which gets spoilt by the pre-nup drama; and the Jessica Bedi days (hmmm....Apu looked pretty besotted back then, though Armaan was not supposed to be interested in Jessica , was he? 😉😳) It was a wonderful reliving of old memories....*sigh*
Anyway, she moved on to reality shows on Sony, covering Indian Idol 2, DYND and Fear Factor. Then, of course, came Jhalak Dikhlaja.😛 Mona said it was a great experience: she met new people, lost weight 😆, and dancing is something one can never get tired of. She revealed that Ajay Jadeja had nicknamed her the "dancing monster"!😆
(clippings of JDJ inserted, showing Mona's, Shveta's and Mahesh's dances)
Talking of DYND, Mona said it was a very easy game, where one just has to choose between 2 "dabbas".😆 😆 (My mom chuckled aloud at this!😃)
Then....Sai and Shakti🤢, talking about ELAS. Shakti said Kanchi's exit from the show was "unfortunate", but it was the channel's decision and maybe it was for the best. Sai said she had been asked to play Ananya for just 2 months, but luckily the TRPs picked up and the show got an extension. She also talked about her and Shakti's "chemistry" and their desire to work together having come true....why do ALL TV wives harp on about the SAME thing? 😈🤢
They also talked about KYPH , Vaidehi and ADHM ending, and the launch of Kaajjal and Kulvaddhu. (very brief clips) I wish Mona had been asked to host this part too...i wanted to see her talking about Apu's show!😳
Interview of Sandip Sickand, who sounded very upbeat: he said Sony had picked up in 2006, with JDJ and Big Boss being very successful, and Kaajjal also doing quite well.😊 He said he's sure 2007 will be Sony's year. Coming up are new fiction shows and a talk show called "Ek cup gossip" or something like that. The reporter asked him if reality shows or fiction would predominate, and he diplomatically said a healthy mix of both.
Also the lauch party of Kulvaddhu, where everyone was talking about its being a "zara hatke" show 😆...as usual....
Then Mona concluded by wishing everyone a Happy New Year ; saying that the year '07 is supposed to be good...she hoped everyone's dreams would come true...and hers too.😊
