Sharmi,I didnt mean that Dev overtly resembles Armaan(characterwise)..But There are so many traits,which bring in a sense of deja vu....

As hansa di so succinctly stated in another post,Dev comes across as the Armaan of the shuili days..Armaan was a loser then,he was a beaten man,who just couldnt come to terms with his wife earning....A person who is cynical...But Armaan was soft,he wasnt really a "beast"...Dev being more rude,more obnoxious...In this case,the cynicalness and sardonicism arent being portrayed by employing a gamut of emotions....In the case of Armaan,it was enough if Apu looked quasi arrogant,but as Dev,he's expected to be downright obnoxious,which he doesnt

The main drawback is that ( lets forget about looks,dressing blah blah for sometime) Apu just doesnt ooze menace or condescension😕....The dialogues are sassy,no doubt,but when mouthed by Apu,they seem as though those dialogues/monologues are penned for a seduction scene😕..Dev's looks,which are aimed at bringing out Dev's impertinence and effrontery do not achieve the purpose😕..Dev's advances towards Kaajjal seem as though He's trying to seduce her,and not as though he's taunting her😕.....When Dev asks Kaajjal the price of her chastity,It didnt have the expected effect,Looked more as though Dev was trying to flirt with Kaajjal😕

As much as I might be the least Impressed with Iqbal Khan's offscreen behaviour,and his onscreen histrionics,I must admit,He plays the impudent rake with more panache(but that guy cant pull off an emotional scene for nuts)...Even AMit Tandon was more convincing,in the one episode of Kyunki that I watched on Limey's behest...APu's a great actor and was fantastic as Armaan,but only that he isnt being able to do full justice to the role..He doesnt look wicked enough😕

😆....Agreed QT,certain things are really imbecilic,but even that can be pardoned,cinematic liberties can be stretched upto a certain level,but only upto that limit..Not any further..This happening to be an Apu show,expectations were high...I for one found it implausible,the way Dev impudently inquires the price of Kaajjal's chastity,and then lands at her home and works his charm on the two senior citizens..I mean,which wiseass would do that🤢...and even while being cheeky with Kaajjal,Apu just has limited emotions,the gritting of the teeth,or a smirk(which gives a muliebral touch)...The acting gets monotonous after a while,especially to all the diehard JJKn aficionados,one has the "Been there,seen it,tell a different story" kind of feeling...

APu's one of the finest actors of television,but sadly,there's hardly any scope in television,and MOST stars either get typecast,or get monotonous..Hiten I believe was brilliant in Kutumb,but when he started doing the same thing in every soap,it became lacklustre and repetitious....Apu needs to reinvent and variegate himself,if he doesnt wish to join the bandwagon where every TV star gets insipid and undiversified......APu needs to work on his emotions,his mannerisms and quirks..Because,that is precisely what all great stars do..They dont let the audience get an inkling of "them(the star per se)" in the performance..Like one doesnt see Aamir Khan emoting the same way in his movies or using the same mannerisms....and its even more important for television stars,as we see them more often..One sees Aamir only twice a year in 2 movies,whereas we see tv stars 4 days a week,thus they need to all the more be on their toes and constantly reinvent themselves

LOL yup MOMO.....He was supposed to be terrorizing,but ended up being plain perverse...I agree some bitter incident of the Past has made Dev bitter,but why is he perverse😕🤢..He infact asked Kaajjal "the price of her izzat"🤢
