Beautifully written Arpita.

As always it was endearing to read about their earlier life. Khushi, who came from small village, wasn't wrong to have insecurities about herself. But she gradually overcame all of that because she believed Arnav loved her. Arnav may loved her initially or may be he didn't. It's hard to tell because I think he has a different definition of love in his mind. But he definitely cared for her and he still does.

Goodbyes are always hard. It was so painful to read. But Khushi is doing right thing by going away from all of that as she told Payal. Because staying there , she will always be in constant touch with Arnav.

It was hard for Khushi to go away as she felt secure in the physical presence of Arnav. Arnav didn't realize it earlier, but he is finding it hard too. He was used to her presence around his life too. May be they hit a rough patch and he thought it would be better to separate. But he forgot she was a constant companion in his life.

The last line had me smiling. He will realize now, that no matter how much money he will have, he won't have a companion to share it with.

Thanks a lot shereen. 😊😊Arnav indeed is dealing with the consequences. I do think that people sometimes underestimate domesticity and normalcy. That’s what Arnav may have done here. And as much as we want only Arnav to get affected, Khushi’s going to be hurt too. It is great to see the love for Khushi’s character here. I really was going for the sorted out, sunshine kind of a personality for her :)

I do understand your comment on Lavanya's intentions but I don't want to speculate or to be honest really care.

In the woke culture we live in today we can justify every actions and give it a pass ...forgetting a basic wrong we are taught when we are young not to steal.

The book "Kite Runner," by Hosseini has an impactful section on thievery. I am paraphrasing..when you take what is not yours to take (not just an object but say life or peace, happiness..here Khushi's) it is stealing ! Easy to follow right. For we only have control over our own behavior.

So yes I agree with you Arnav's life is not one should aspire. Doing well in life is hard. True also there are no free lunches in life but for me I should also be able look into the mirror everyday.

.

The kite runner dialogue ♥️

That book is seriously so close to my heart. I think it was the first ‘grown up’ literature I had a brush with. Prior to that I was only diving into fantasy themed books and maybe one or two light reads. That book spurred on an addiction!! From the story to the characters to the strangely bittersweet end despite all the agony that book carried was simply mind blowing to me. I am right now revisiting my old favourite FFs in here. Will need to go back and read it once more!

I too loved reading that book. I also remember being struck with the description of Aghanistan life in the 60s -never thought it was so open.

Oh that’s an entirely serious but fascinating discussion. After that book I did read up on middle eastern history. It’s going to be as shocking to you as the description in the book. :)

Btw I also had no clue about the Hazara community and their persecution. I have not read much about middle east history. Should do it😊

Do remember doing a shortcut and reading the book Exodus..a fascinating read about the creation of Israel

This is the most sad and equally disturbing part, just in few years the deterioration that the place went through is unbelievable.

Bang on.

Thank you for saying this.

I remember once watching an interview of a famous producer of our film industry who, when asked something on relationship (I forgot the exact question) said-- just don't break/end everything because of infidelity, that may be the person still loves you, but that sometimes sex outside the relation/marriage is just a physical need.

I remember being shocked at that statement and just staring at my screen for some secs trying to fathom what he just said.

So, I loved how you phrased the statement. It has almost become a norm to discount every morally wrong deeds in the current woke culture that we live in, forgetting the basic compass of right and wrong that we were taught when young.

Hey Puja, I am going through one FF at a time. I'm searching and looking into the forum and blogs as I go because honestly there were so many of them that it's hard to keep track.

I finished reading the valiant knight. A girl named Khushi, unexpectedly expected and best laid plans are my next follow ups. I actually logged into IF after all these years because I wanted to read hands of time. Sadly, it is not available anymore.
