Oh my god.., im speechless. You are such an amazing and excellent writer. I came back to forums after a long time to actually look for an old ff to read as I no longer find new interesting pieces. I came across this topic and saw that it was updated recently and I opened it and oh my oh my .. you have left me spell bound.

The characters and the emotions are sooo perfectly written. This is a new Arnav i have come across who was soo poor and struggled. The khushi, soo inspiring with the strength she has shown. I finally broke down with her too in the last chapter. It has been quite some time that i cried reading and you did it.

A friend recently went through divorce and reading this just gave me a glimpse of what the couple might go through. Other than arshi, all characters are so amazing. Lavanya usually considered a threat and villian, with her interlude, you made her a grey character and that is exactly how life is. You start making sense if see things from their perspective. More of empathy in the world might make it a better place.

Kudos to you. All the best for upcoming chapters. Please update soon and please please please do not leavd it in the middle. Such a beautiful piece deserves to go all the way. Now I am off to your next story. Darmiyan.

Andddd just loved khushi conversation with her god when she broke down and said i fell for it everytime.

Such an innocent sweet person.

Another thing i wanted to tell that I loved was the past and present snippets. One tries to think why mention this part of the past and then see something connecting with present.

What I also observed that the 19 year old Khushi was naive, unsure, trying to fit in but not anymore. In her conversation with Payal she is mature, poised, still giving and forgiving(comment to Payal to not abandon Arnav).

She is honest, matter of fact with Payal about her turmoil but has not reached out to her for help. A battle she is facing alone.

She has reflected and knows that her own parents and Bua can provide her emotional support she needs now. Not Arnav friends.

There is a resignation and an acceptance like in her musing that she is leaving behind a toxic and unbearable life. Or when she tells Payal about the divorce that Arnav does not change his mind. Or when she observes Arnav in the penthouse and the changes in him in last 10 years. One does not fight for things that is not worth fighting anymore.

Regarding Arnav. Wonder if he even remembers how it was for him a 22 year old when he moved from Lucknow to Mumbai. From a traditional, conservative city to a cosmopolitan city. Why is he suprised that a 19 year old from a village is shocked by pre marital relations.

Their relation even then was unequal but today it seems to be in better footing. He is not dominating the conversation, she finally doing what she wants to do.

He being emotional in the train station is not unnatural. It is an end of a relationship. But he will get over it as now he finally has is personal life back.

Regarding his musing whether it was all worth it..it is. He is the same guy who reduced his marriage of a decade to a transactional relationship..when he said "thank you for everything" when she came to say goodbye. He has the right attitude and focus to succeed more in life.

Nicely written. Like it is a difficult story to write,it is difficult to read.

Arnav is the main protagonist but somehow I am not curious about his life. Be his relation with Lavanya or any other woman. Or if he will acquire Bitebox . Or what has been his journey.

No not because he cheated or that Khushi has left but because who he is as a person today.

Yes, your analysis of Khushi is perfect. That’s exactly what the story intended. Khushi is still just as giving and nice, but she is no longer the confused, naive nineteen year old who was struggling to keep her head above water in the new city. After all, she has been at this for ten years now. Back at the party, even Arnav noticed how guests complimented her for the grace she carries around with herself. About Arnav, I feel like I need to keep my comments limited since a lot of his professional struggles are yet to be revealed. But love the perception you guys are building with each chapter:)

Thank you so much for taking the time out to comment. I understand silent readers, I really do but sometimes the feedback becomes really important for me. I am shamelessly open about that :). I do not intend to leave the story dangling in between. Even if at a snail’s pace, I will see it through :).

And, maybe then he can justify that it is indeed worth it. But, by another token, if you lose your moral compass and become cynical and ruthless what have you gained in the end? It can be very lonely on top and can he be sure that a woman like Lavenya is only with him for his money and power. Will he still have true friends like Akash and Payal? Or maybe, he doesn’t really care as long as he is in control and would tend to see the people in his life in the same way. Looking at life through rose colored glasses one hopes that that is not a life to aspire to, however.

That is true, it can indeed be very lonely at the top. Especially if you’ve bungled it with a person who had stood behind you like a rock. Akash had felt like Arnav will do just fine in some days and will be back to his ASR self because he never lets anything keep him down for long. Even Khushi thinks he won’t change his mind once it’s made up . Let’s see if the best friend and ex wife are right.

thanks again. Yeah the snippet of past and present that NEED to be together in the same chapter are the reason for these lengthy updates. Glad to see they’re accomplishing what they intended. :)

Good byes are always painfull. My heart went out to khushi when she told that' they are no more married' even when her partition was filled. The audacity of arnav to enquire her stand on going back to her home was another level. At the same time as many pointed: will her moving back to her roots be a night mare??In all this mess ,khushi remains the one who lost the most but still is graceful and forgiving,at the same time her not bringing a child to stick on to her marriage which meant the world to her even when she hails from a conservative village background makes her the most lovable character.

Again brilliant writing invoking a series of emotions when khushi landed at the lap of her dear buaji...

Well it could also be that the buck does not stop at Lavanya and he moves on to the next woman who fancies sorry "loves" him 😊 He remains the powerful and morally wrong man and we give a pass to the women because see he is the married one. Whoever heard of it takes two to tango😊

I do understand your comment on Lavanya's intentions but I don't want to speculate or to be honest really care.

In the woke culture we live in today we can justify every actions and give it a pass ...forgetting a basic wrong we are taught when we are young not to steal.

The book "Kite Runner," by Hosseini has an impactful section on thievery. I am paraphrasing..when you take what is not yours to take (not just an object but say life or peace, happiness..here Khushi's) it is stealing ! Easy to follow right. For we only have control over our own behavior.

So yes I agree with you Arnav's life is not one should aspire. Doing well in life is hard. True also there are no free lunches in life but for me I should also be able look into the mirror everyday.

Thank you so much! I do think that’s one of the most courageous and generous thing Khushi of this story did. Not bringing a child in the world where she wasn’t hundred percent sure about her husband’s wishes.
