"we presented you the news first of the inhumane incident that shook the city of delhi yesterday. Around ten in the night yesterday , body of mrs.khushi singh was founded in her bath tub ,bare of any clothing , chained to tub and multiple cuts around her body ."

camera zoomed on the screen with the pictures of dead body which was blurred in some parts .

"yesterday, victim's husband called the police , disturbed by the occurrence of the tragedy in the house. the victim and her husband with a five year old used to live in the two-storey house in the banerjee nagar , south delhi extension. the couple shifted there three years back with their daughter, with an aim to live in a much safer part of the city which unfortunately did not end up well for the family. Victim's husband was working in as a manager in a multinational corporation situated at noida and use to travel daily way back home. He said he had no suspicion on anyone. Both being orphans did not had any family or long relatives , just few work friends that was it."

Camera shifted to a few pics of the victim's husband with his colleagues in official attire smiling at the camera.

"Neighbours says that couple was not very social and mostly remained aloof and barely attend any ceremony or functions.the victim was a very beautiful and lively girl ,she was doing a primary teacher job in the school nearby. Police is still investigating the case and has sent the body for postmortem."

Camera zooms on the face of lead anchor wearing white blouse and red pencil skirt , make-up down to top and her red lips moving in an un-nerving rhythm , her demure correctly showing her tremendous experience in the journalism.

Her eyes widened , her lips move depicting the every worry and danger every person watching this news and knowing about killing must have been feeling.

"Is this is homicide or domestic fight gone wrong or a revenge game or maybe"

She puts her elbows on the table and looks at the camera with serious yet dangerous expression before completing her sentence.

"Or is there is a serial killer on the loose!"

"I , lavanya kashyap reporting from studio of just news' -nothing but the truth.keep on watching for the future updates"

CUT!

Everyone in the studio clapped as the newly appointed editor-in-chief walked off the stage in her perfect walk and smiled at the appreciation she is getting.she walks towards the office while her assistant follows her up handling one coffee in her hand and other carrying files.lavanya took a sip out off the cup and immediately threw it out and wiped her lips with a tissue looking at her assistant as if she had just served her poison though if it was really poison lavanya won't have been sitting alive looking at payal with murderous glance.

"Payal, i told you to bring a diet coffee not this sugar bom with millions of calories floating in it"

"But lavanya!, it is .."

Lavanya cut payal off before she can complete her sentence.

"Whatever , just because your father is my father's friend does not mean you will act so carelessly. If you really want achieve something, you need to be alert , active and be a hardworking assistant"

"Go sho! now bring me another coffee" lavanya added shaking her fingers in a tone of get on with work and ever so nice assistant payal smiled nervously and ran with her fumbling feets to do this job perfectly but before she can make her way out of the office door , lavanya's voice stopped her.

"Payal!"

"yes!"

"You can keep all of those file on my desk. I am pretty sure those files need editor-in-chief approval"

Payal put the files down nervously , shaking her sweaty palm and taking shaking breaths went out of the office.

After serving low fat coffee to lavanya , payal went to her cubicle and started reading the numerous news reports that will once shortlisted by lavanya would run on the channel breaking the TRP records well that was all strive for in this business.

Payal never knew her dream of ever presenting the right news and becoming a news anchor would ever be possible.earlier at least she was working on the field collecting news or giving brief accounts of situation of various case or events in the news telecast but from the moment lavanya has become editor-in-chief she has confined payal to minimal work of an assistant. Payal never understood why lavnya makes her so nervous , it is just the way she acts and boss probably or maybe just her position now.

Lavanya is the first women to have attained such higher position at the young age of thirty two but how all of sudden she became chief is still a mystery. She has ten years of experience in the field and she certainly was a star anchor of the channel from the past year but still her sudden promotion and outgrowing of their earlier chief was still a mystery to payal.

Payal was bored with monotone of her work these that it was boring her to death , she wanted to work on a important case or interview some important person that will help her gain experience. She has requested ,no she has practically begged lavanya to let her go on field , attend important conference or anything else that will make her feel she is working in the real sense but lavanya has never agreed but this time payal would not take no for an answer.

Payal rushed to lavanya as she saw her walking in hurried steps the studio. It was her chance , if only she can make lavanya agree.

"Lavanya i was thinking...umm... if i can go to the press conference of mr. Randhir shekhawat , chief commissioner of delhi police who has been recently accused of rape by one of his constable." payal said scared at start of her boss's reaction then just speaks at once as fast as possible , momentarily closing her eyes nervously and praying that she says yes . It is such an important case if she gets a chance to cover it then she will get one step closer to achieving her goals , her dream .

Breaking the thread of payal's thoughts lavanya says a loud " NO! , sachin and roshan will be handling that and i am sure they are probably on their way now"

"Payal just first learn to be good assistant than we will see about your going back on the field" lavanya said curtly walking straight ahead with no backward glance.

Payal uttered the every cursed words in her mind and before she can stop herself , words just left her mouth.

"I just want to kill that bitch!"

"Me too"

Payal jumped at the male voice and just smiled nervously at akash , the new jurno in the the channel. He was wearing a white crisp shirt and black pants ,with specs covering his light brown eyes which were now turning hazel in the light.

"But i dont have the guts to actually went for the kill" payal said now smiling a little freely and laughing on her earlier statement , lavanya does pushes all her wrong buttons.

"Well i can do that" akash replied.

"Huh?" payal looked at him confused. She lost the direction of the conversion as she got so lost in her thoughts about lavanya and her cruel actions.

Akash took steps towards payal , making her move back and stopping only when her back got hit by the wall. She looked at him nervously , she saw how his eyes turned all dark all of a sudden .she kept on looking at him hypnotised by his eyes that are now creeping her a little bit , no maybe creeping her too much.

"Kill her! , i am mean." akash said , his breath fanning her nervous face.

Payal felt her palm go all sweaty at his words , she hated blood , she just hated the sight of it . the thought of killing or murder gave her chills.

"But it will too much work , killing her and lately , i dont have the leisure of killing people these days" akash said almost chilling every bone in payal's body , making her face covered in sweat , she should not have watched all the murder mystery in the night. Her eyes went to akash's lips as he started laughing all of sudden making payal look at him confused.

Akash Hi-fied few of his friends and went wiking towards payal. She felt anger building inside at the horrendous prank of akash. She don't even know him properly and he had the guts to prank her so ludicrously , what does he think of himself?she will take her revenge soon.

"Idiot!"

Payal uttered and moved to her cubicle when she saw , the breaking news running on the T.V screen and lavanya starts to present the news , always ready to take the limelight.

"Breaking news of this moment is coming from south extension of delhi . police has arrested the husband of mrs.khushi singh , arnav singh from his house this evening on the accusation of killing his wife in cold blood yesterday. So it does turned out to be the evergoing case of domestic killing in the area.we will soon bring you the further updates on the news"

Payal looked at the screen where continuous video of victim's husband being arrested was shown while hundred of cameras surrounds them.payal's burow set in confusion.

"Husband -the killer . how convenient" payal said in whisper and jumped in fear as now the familiar male voice came from her right.

"Exactly! So convenient" akash said standing near payal , his eyes not leaving the screen for a minute and his face turned in the expression of hate , sadness and anger.payal gulped as she felt the anger building inside him.

thank you for giving this story a chance , hoping not to disappoint you .this story needs a lot of patience and understanding .there will arshi romance in the story but i will focus on other characters too and try to build up a little mystery hopefully.😳
