Nisha, this is a lovely analysis dear, you have expressed my exact thoughts.
I was too busy gloating over the fact that the writers had given in to our demands and shown us the long-awaited apology after all but you are right...
a) it was too short...3 minutes, you were being too kind.
b) it lacked intensity and depth...he was more emotional when he apologized to Anjali after Shyam's ouster.
c) it should have had a bigger impact considering this had been building up for over a year now.
Its like the CVs want to rush this part of the story...Arnav's redemption, Khushi's justice, their remarriage, her happiness...they want to rush it and get it over with so they can tell us, see Khushi has been justified, now stop complaining and please watch the show. All this just goes to show how little they value Khushi and her feelings...the more they degrade and mess with Khushi's character, the lower the TRPs have gone. They know it, that's why they are giving us this track, but they are still not treating her the way a female LEAD should be treated.
I will say one last thing regarding Dadi...a promo was shown when she arrived the previous week but the TRPs remained stalled at 2.5. I was proven right. Why on earth would this old hag whose purpose in life is to insult the lovable Khushi (just so Arnav gets to look like a hero in defending her)...why would this actually increase viewership? It probably turned more people off. Don't get me wrong...its nice to see Arnav defend Khushi, but not at her expense...that just left us with an empty feeling. Everything the CVs try to portray keep backfiring because their priorities are not right.
They don't know their audience methinks. I doubt they realize the audience for this show has never been the same target as it is for other saas-bahu shows. This show hit 4.6 TRPs in February without a crazy sister-in-law, a regressive dadi or a bahu being humiliated in every episode. Why would they think bringing in such elements would help the ratings of this show in particular? They hit their highest TRPs in the days when the two lead characters used to be given equal importance and treatment and it was essentially a love story. Its not just about TRPs...even the fan reaction was positive back then.
