Like I briefly mentioned in reply to a recent post, I am certainly not against ASR's return. In fact, I like Barun that way. I have always wanted that even when he realizes his love for Khushi, he maintains the ASR stature. Meaning, don't get all 'lovey-dovey!'
But believing that Khushi had an affair with Shyam is a big 'no no' for me. To begin with, this defeats his intelligence. He has absolutely no reason on the face of this earth to think so (a point that has already been elaborated in other threads). Second, it will become a mundane daily soap: Khushi is a gold digger, she ruined the life of my beloved sister, but then later I find out that this was not the case (again, those who agree with me have already discussed this aspect). I stopped watching MJHT for exactly the same reason: I knew what was coming up next!
Most importantly, I don't think there will be any intensity in their love story if Arnav has to live with the thought that Khushi has shared an intimate relationship with his brother-in-law. The mere sight of Khushi should make him sick - so why on earth would he feel anything for her? How then does the tagline "Kaash mein tumse mohabbat kar paataa" fit in?
To state a personal opinion, linking Khushi with Shyam is more sickening than a mere justification for betrayal. As a woman, Khushi must never return to Arnav if he makes this accusation against her. If this happens, I would love to have the show end differently. Arnav ultimately finds out the truth, and returns to Khushi with an apology.
Without creating a scene, Khushi turns to him and says, "mujhe aapse koi gilaa nahi hai..."
"Khushi, phir mujhe meri zindagi loutaa do"
"Arnav ji, aisa ho nahi saktaa. Kyonki mera pyaar aap kay liye usi din mar chuka tha, aur maray huay log waapis nahi aatay chaahay koi kitnaa bhi pukaar le"
"Khushi, tum meray saath aisaa nahi kar sakti ho!"
"Maine apnay saath bhi aisaa nahi karna chaaha tha. par meray saath aisaa hua aur mein kuch nahi kar paayee."
"Par mein tumhare baghair reh nahi paongaa"
"Zindagi nay mujhe aap kay baghair rehnaa sikhaa diya hain. Maine tanhaee se dosti kar li hain. Par umeed karti hoon kay aapko ek achi jeewan saathi miley"
"Khush..."
"Arnav ji, aap se ek ghalti hui, aur aapne uski maafi maang li hain. ab aap jaa sakte ho!"
Arnav walks away stealing glances at her, but this time she does not turn around.
I know I'll be cursed by almost everyone for this closing scene! Well, I'm not a radical feminist, but I don't think any female can be tolerant when her essential modesty is ridiculed.
So then the question remains: How do we bring back ASR?
Let him get furious knowing that Khushi had hidden Shyaam's truth all along. And blame her that she did all this just so her sister's marriage is not harmed. Khushi gets irritated by Arnav's habit of passing value-judgments and storms off without explaining herself. Thinking back, Arnav gets even more angry imagining that Anjali could have lost her life due to Khushi's silence. And then the track begins: Nafrat paas aanay na day, mohabat door janay na day. Or a totally different thing happens, and Khushi is the one who hates Arnav with a passion.
Finally, if the scene of betrayal is so essential, please let Arnav think that she was in love with NK, HP, or even Mohan, but NOT Shyam. I know it's too late to make all these suggestions, but I simply couldn't help sharing them at least.
The only hope that remains is the history of the CVs. They better don't disappoint me!
EDIT:
I have always felt that this girl completes everything I say. But this time she makes a crucial contribution drawing on an important Hindu mythology (see bold part) - I personally think it's more important than anything I have said on this thread. Originally posted on p. 6.

Okay, the most logical hatred reason and actually a justified reason for ASR to hate Khushi would be that she and her family hid this fact for Payal's sake, specially since they brought up that issue of Payal's first broken marriage last week. ASR would logically think that Khushi put her sister's happiness over Anjali's happiness, and she didn't think abt the fact that Anjali was living with a cheat, who actually tried to kill her. If this is how he thinks, I'm all good with it. In fact, Khushi did a major blunder by not telling anyone abt shyam right then, and this is the conclusion anyone would draw.
Now ASR thinking Khushi seduced shyam right away would be horrible, cause he's seen Khushi would never do that, and for her marriage is a sacred bond and she'd never ruin a woman's married life. PLUS, Khushi had herself said she wasn't happy with her engagement to her fiance Shyam. However, this being a serial, I totallyyy expect them to follow this route. Also in the precap, she's actually saying crap. Shyam is saying "I love you so much Khushi ji" and she replies, "so why don't you leave anjali ji?" WHAT kind of a reply is that??? Wouldn't she actually say stop chasing me, and I don't love you and never will! UGH. I'm so hoping the precap is wrong, cause looking at it, it seems ASR will think on the wrong lines. And this would justify the former title that this show was supposed to have- "Vaidehi". Sita ji is called vaidehi in hindu mythology, and lord Ram accused his own wife Sita of having relations with Ravan while she was kidnapped by ravan. And then, to prove her innocence, Sitaji had to walk through fire which is called Agni pariksha. The difference is that after this happened, sita ji pleaded mother earth to take her in, cause she was shattered and hurt that Ramji suspected her like that. But in shows, women are shown self sacrificing, and it won't be surprising if Khushi decides to go back to him which'll again be disgusting and a sign of zero self respect. But that's you and me being upset. How many actual viewers would think like this? I bet majority would be happy when Khushi decides to forgive Arnav and be the mahaan sati savitri.
Thank you, Ishu.
