The Maliks are a Suryavanshi Rajput clan, and are Dogras. The Hindu branch provided the Maharajas of Jammu and Kashmir. Prior to independence, the districts of Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur were home to a large number of Muslim Maliks. In what became Pakistani territory, they were and are found in numbers in Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum and Rawalpindi districts, which all bordered Jammu and Kashmir.Malik Hindu converted into Islam , especially during and before India - Pakistan partition.

plus Raizadas are also from the Rajput clan mainly of warriors and land owners who now occupy the lands in Northern india and punjab!!

So basically guys, Arnav's mom and dad were both Rajputs.

It was really good of you to catch onto the fact about the names. But I doubt the cvs really look into the names they give. They probably just picked royal sounding names. And I'm sure the story behind Arnav's real name will come to light sooner or later.

CVs hardly remember to close the loop on what occurred in the previous week's episode, what are the odds they'd remember to cross-check actual history of names!!!

Hey!! Appriciate the fact you went though a lot to look into the history.
But no offence... the whole background clarification is convoluted. For one Gupta period ended about 1500 yrs ago .

I know that, that is where the name came from. That's what I was saying. There were smaller zamindars who took that name. But I am sure the CVs didn't mean to imply Khushi is some form of royalty.

Wouldn't it be funny if it turns out that Khushi IS royalty. We know her real parents died a while ago. And from the promos, it said that Khushi is responsible for Arnav's dark past ... so ... how funny would it be if the CVs do bring in a bit of history and link Khushi up with some royal Gupta family ... lol.

Poor Arnav. He will be so embarrassed by the aukat talks. But he might also hate her because of the past.
