First of all, Hi! I'm Sneha. :)
I have never commented on any post here. Or elsewhere on IF. Nor shall I be doing it in the foreseeable future. I used to be an active member years ago, when youth shows like DMG were popular. I made a number of friends who I'm in contact with on other social medias. Somehow seeing how rude and exceptionally 'brash' people can be behind a computer screen put me off IF for years. Been silent ever since. Until today. Your post incited an indescribable enough feeling so I could muster up some words to jot down my two-cents as well. For that alone, dear person, you're an artist.
Ishana is such a beautiful character. Sure she's messy, she's confused and flamboyant. Aren't we all? All these people constantly bashing her, I wonder how poorly they must live their lives. Or how easily actually. She's messy because she's in despair. She has a family to look out for. She's a con by necessity, and SURE they are other ways to earn money. I wonder though, have someone put a gun to your little sister's head for millions and think about the options that would come up in your head first. Even Anika went to see Shivay when she thought her little brother wouldn't have a roof on his head. Oh sure, Dadi fortunately gave her a job, what otherwise? We'd all do messy things for the people who love us and we love back.
She's instinctive. She sees a lot of Omkara in herself. They brilliantly showed her rebuking her father when he told her to take advantage of Om/Shivay helicopter situation. She recognizes the pain, perhaps because she's been through enough herself. Or perhaps because he was there when she was vulnerable herself! They might be opposites, they might have nothing in common, but they click on the only level that matters sometimes - the ability to sit next to someone and be able to talk for hours. Where feelings meet, where pain meets, why should it need any other reason? I've been friends with people with opposites personalities for decades on, simply for that.
She's flamboyant. Sometimes, I literally stare at my LT screen while reading; wondering HOW could people POSSIBLY bash a character for that? I have done a mini 'bhangra-dance' thousand of times when hearing something that made me happy. I literally did it once while driving back 'cause I was that joyful about a confirmed overseas trip I had been wishing for ages. She's a dreamer. She's ambitious sure, but little things make her happy. Actually, isn't that what we want for Om? He's has nothing to give but himself, because he doesn't believe anything in the Oberoi mansion is even his, except for his brothers. He's a loner, and he would wish someone who would care for nothing, but soothe his pain. In my opinion, she's perfect for him just for that reason alone.
I've enjoyed the show so much thus far, and I got to say, I had the lowest of expectations joining in, 'cause it's a Gul/SP show. Sure there are loads of glitches, and enough inconsistencies. However, you're watching a 'fictional' show. Either have a low level of tolerance, or get out. It's Indian TV. Plus, give it some time. They have such a huge star-cast. How possible is it to accommodate 10 strong characters in a 20 min-period? And every single character, even secondaries like Tia have been growing on me. Anika, Ishaana and Saumya are all perfect fits for the three brothers in different ways. Aren't they all opposites? All three love stories have the potential to reach heights. Heck, even Tej-Jhanvi now have me hooked. Angst has no age, and neither does love. It can be rekindled at any age, or time. I wish people would stop making hurtful posts on a one-day episode. But oh well, this is IF after all.
Thank you. Rant over. Great to know that people like you are stil around. If you all have a thread or group somewhere for great discussions, I would love to be a part of it. All awesome people I have had the pleasure of knowing left IF years ago due to the above-mentioned reasons!
P.S. - I almost agree with all personality associations someone made in latter pages. I'm a total ENFP too, just like Ishaana. Except for the houses designation. Somehow I don't think any of them would fit in a single house. Except Tej - he's definitely Slytherin. And Anika would definitely think she's Gryffindor, just for that 'never-die' attitude. She's hilarious too, like our Ron.
