IKRS Monday 22nd February 2016 ep 170 My Take ~ sweetness and light..
As human beings greed is such a preoccupation with us at all time. Avarice is part of our mechanical makeup. To be satisfied with what we have is inherently not part of our psyche . For when we see we covet. The eyes whet our appetites to want more, We envy what others possess. This gluttony within ourselves could be for food, materialism or last but not the least power. Greed takes away the sense of moderation in life and replaces it with an obsessive craving which if it exceeds takes away the sense of reality and leaves us deluded.The episode to me shows us how greed influences and manifests itself in various characters .
Dashrant as wicked as he maybe never does away with good manners and in giving a person their due. His greed for power ,thus ensures that he conducts himself with grace at all times, even within his home territory. He enters Kanak's room, praises and offers thanks to her for completing the daunting task of expelling Dhani from Viplav's life. Despite this there still lies between them a subtle fear of some unforeseen challenge. Still Dashrant gives Kanak the very thing which this wretch of a woman! will give up anything for! even her motherhood, the keys of the household! Bunch of keys which signifies the position of great powerful within his household. For Kanak knows to gain access to power, in the house her key to acquire her greed is to divide Dhani from Viplav. But then Dashrant too is a hard task master , and thus he warns , as long she behaves in the manner he expects from her, the keys remain with her.. If she steps out of line he has the ultimate power to remove her greedy possession of the keys from her. Kanak gloats in her new found power and wishes her son Viplav will stay away from Dhani , to ensure that all power remains in his mothers control.
Kanak may have temporary access to power , but the forces of nature go against her wickedness. His bride desired to go home.. to their home. But the time is not right ,so the storm blows Viplav's car carrying his bride to a lowly abandoned shack. They are destined to begin their newly married journey here from this humble hut. The gods will it! as his vehicle packs up , and the storm whips up. The affluent Viplav tirpathi has no choice but to ensure cover for his wife Dhani, and thus they both seek refuge from the raging sand storm inside the shack. The place was in shambles, but will do. Protectively almost like a father figure he makes her sit on the bare woven charpoy. So this is their wedding day.. How it progresses on !in some godforsaken hut. Dhani suddenly almost like a child who requests from her father , says she's hungry!he hadn't thought of basic necessities ,obliges immediately than he would provide her with some rightaway! viplav the primitive man as the hunter and provider of food comes into action! His sense of responsibility as husband cum father ,cum head of the household is aroused..but dhani as the typical wife protective of her husband from the dangers of the tumultuous noisy storm stops him from leaving, no she's fine she'll bear hunger but wont expose his life in danger! He snaps if that is the case then why did she alert him? , now he'll have to go ,can't have his pretty wife starving can he? He entices her ,watch he'll go like the wind itself! and return with something special to mark the special day of their lives! Before she knows it viplav dashes off and dhani with maata's red chunari on her head stands in the forsaken shack all alone.. She pulls her chunni that transformed her life..
She feels the red chunni around her face and suddenly catches her reflection in the mirror.. heaven's that's me! maata's red chunni on my head.. she smiles as she realises, how he threw vermillion on my face that day at the mandir, dear god how horrified I was with his outrageous act of defiling a widow! and today.. his one time action he has made reality.. vakeel babu you move my heart , my eyes are filled with tears , as I look upon myself in the mirror.. ohhh how you took the beats upon your body for me and my family.. this holy red chunari I hold protectively over my head.. you saved me then and you gave me my freedom today vakeel babu..my eyes pour tears of adoration and devotion for you vakeel babu.. muses Dhani before the mirror and her finger tips feel the sacred vermillion in her hairline.. yes she is his wife! Its her wedding day today , believe it or not! But suddenly she turns away from the mirror and ...
Dhani sits on the bed dressed as a bride.. its her wedding night. She sees a figure enter the room, slouch before her on the bed.. he forces her to have alcohol.. she struggles to push away the metal glass of alcohol that her husband forces her to drink.the wind blow a metal glass on the ground in the shack! and brings Dhani out of her worst fear! Tears of joy turn to tears of trauma, she will have to tell vakeel babu about her past!.. its vital, as today's the most important day of her life!
Viplav returns in a hurry, finds her clutching on to her chunni.. you checked out the place, good, come on then , sit down and like her dad he digs out the goodies for her to eat. Even opens a pot of sweet sauce for her and puts it on her palm. Then with beaming smile he pulls out a jabeli.. again a sweet meat.. dips it in the sauce on her palm and brings it close to his mouth instead of her ready and waiting mouth. He chuckles, only joking was going to give it you ! and she takes the sweet dipped jalebi from his hand.. the jalebi.. despite all the twists that came in their life here they sit before each other.. feeding each other, focusing each other's attention to their lips.. licking away residue sweet around their mouths..was their any need of a kiss between them? the pleasure of just watching each other celebrate their happy beautiful faces; the way their facial features move with joy at finding themselves before each other is in itself visual kisses bequeathed by the gods themselves for this newlywed couple. Once the feeding and the caressing each other with their eyes, finger tip touch, and sign language is over.. today the indulgence to eat ,and to feast upon each other's mannerisms , is somewhat rewarded ! Viplav gives her with a present , red bangles! sign of his love.. which affords him the tender reason to touch her.. gently he grabs her hand in his, his eyes besotted by her big bold brown eyes.. gradually.. slowly ..tenderly his finger slide the bangles one at a time down her palm, past her soft wrist on her warm arm.. gently with his finger tips he feels the bangles.. avoiding her skin.. such is the reverence this man holds for his newly married wife! Everything about this couple is a pure unhurried communion of the souls rather than the a rushed greed of the body! Dhani needs gentle handling and Viplav as her husband is in no rush , why should he be? she is his to hold and to cherish for life..Then as a final touch he sticks a tiny bindi on her forehead. Her pure and innocent beauty stuns him and humorously he sighs and falls on his back smitten! just to see her smile.. Dhani awed by all.. says, in one moment our whole life has changed! YES! He stands up and his face turns dark and sombre Her words remind him of his mothers words that he overheard and which really prompted him to marry Dhani without further delay! Sadly he replies with concealed hurt , you're right Dhani in one go our whole life has transformed!..
Dhani senses some gloom and walks up to him and tells him , the darkness makes her wary.. the storm shrieks outside..but Viplav quells the hurt and rage in his heart against his mother, and sets out to alleviate the fear of his beloved wife, in a dramatic manner! He jumps on to the charpoy as if he is on stage and yells don't you worry Dhani! your husband promises you darkness will never come near you! but Dhani requests don't makes promises, so many misunderstandings were created amongst us. I honestly thought everything between us would finish. You were livid, I was scared something wrong would happen. Viplav calms her , don't be frightened and forget such things, let's talk about old times, and he reminds her of the time he first met her, asking her age!she moans he had put alcohol in her pot and he retorted, yes but he got her released too and got beats for her sake when the ashram was attacked.. this was a lovely way to bond ,remind each other they have come a long way from then to now.. but Dhani still fears, then tripurari tried to separate us.. and he looks into her eyes , as of now , we won't allow tripurai or anyone else to come between us..meaning no one! He clearly within his own mind thinks about his mother.. he reminds her , look we got married today ! can we talk about us and our future? she smiles up at him. # His phone rings.. he pulls a face and he says its mother.. Dhani advices him, talk nicely don't be angry with her.. and he does, she wants to know where he is? And he taunts, he's where he should have been ages ago ! she wants to know when he's returning ? the weather is horrible ,but he jokes, no its not in fact after a long time the weather has suddenly turned for the better!.. then he tells her yep, her mad son will return home rightaway ! Dhani is well pleased with his manner , but Kanak thinks he's gone mad ! the odd way that he was talking to her!
Viplav is baffled with Dhani, how come you think well about my mother, despite the fact that she tried so many times to separate us? Dhani replies, she still is your mother.. and she full has right to be anxious about you.. and he says, I am very blessed to have a wife like yourself..but he sees she's still unhappy and he pulls her to him , mrs Viplav tirpathi , now what's your problem? We're married now, the gods have even blessed us so why are you looking so sad? Dhani confesses .. its true you have married me and changed me from a widow to a married woman , but I do have a past, that I cannot seem to leave behind. I feel that you need to know about my past..viplav is moved by the simple honesty of his wife and is inclined to offer a listening ear..and he gently asks what is then, about your past that frightens you so much?But he can see the pain on her face and the tears in her eyes and says instead, so what ? really I don't want to know, truly! even I had a past! you were married to someone before and I loved someone before! But now we both love each other and now we are married! Now we need to put the past behind us and look ahead to our future! And you watch! Dhani you are so lucky , you have got such a nice boy ! who will keep you so happy and all our lives we'll have proper fun and enjoy!, laughing all the days of our lives.. and he gives her a warm hug.. assures Viplav the practical ,sensitive, loving husband! There life seems all sweetness and light..
Talk about greed, shalu binges on burger and chips. The girl is greedy for love which she starves for in this household ,its for her mother's love she is greedy for .. and instead fulfils it by her compulsive eating disorder. Her mother though covets and craves for power and materialism. Kanak comes and emotionally and physically abuses her daughter for her greed.. people are coming to see her daughter..
Dhani stands against the bale of hay.. dressed in her white sari.The very semblance her vakeel babu fell in love with her. Viplav stands behind her and parks his arms either side of her. As her husband now feels justified in moving her hair to one side.. he will wait for her.. Dhani bashful and nervous moves away from him.. slowly he cups her face in his palms as he gradually gives his life over to her... he looks down into her innocent eyes without tears now.. he sees his face in those big brown eyes..dhani looks into his contracted eyes and she sees pure love in them.. a love that takes away the fear in her and empowers her with the feeling that she will never walk alone..Viplav feels her nearness and protectively places one palm against her back.. my beloved.. my wife.. accept me.. favour me.. grant me your love fully.. he holds her close with his other arm.. and unhurriedly inclines his head closer to hers.. the colour of his love is white, pure and now his forever..
Fantastic episode! Pure love , clean, united in a most befitting manner. A meeting of the souls .. and reverent communication of the earthly bodies. Well Mishal , has done himself proud before mine eyes yet again. He his never crossed the limit.. not in Laagi and now in Ishq he maintains the good clean image... that what transpires between a husband and wife ,is sacred and private.. well done colours you have kept to the requirement that this show is family viewing.
