IKRS 14th September 2015 ep.31 My Take
It's not that I look for pointers in the episodes, but they do become a meaningful watch if certain trends of life do crop up in them.. after all any medium of expression is some form of imitation of life.. my life or life around me. Well the first trend we come across is that of the fear of what others have to say about our words ,deeds and actions. We take into account the social mood and requirements of what is acceptable and unacceptable in our immediate surroundings. In other words a consideration or disregard to the community we live in and inter act with. Those who live as they wish too ,are the ones often termed as the emancipated and different. Not that it's an issue to live life on your own terms , as long as it's in keeping with everyone else..
In the opening scene between Dhani ,Dulari and Rajlaxmi. Dhani feels the pressure of the insinuations of something going on between her and the lawyer.. this in turn makes her tell her mother , that it's not really on, to covet for Viplav's help in this matter and more so to go out with him. She distrusts his image of innocence and fears this new wave of change of heart too may be his new game, she fears he may do something spectacular and unusual again .Dhani still seems to drag on her grudge against Viplav.. it's like once bitten twice shy. Dulari, tries to dissuade her.. but I suspect Dhani is more put off by Rajlaxmi's badmouthing as it was clearly maligning her image.. but Dulari was more concerned how it would appear to Viplav?.He might think they are undervaluing his effort and might drop their case again.. so she insists that Dhani accompany Viplav. Rajlaxmi who is more than willing, is detained and told promptly to stay back and help in the kitchen. Rajlaxmi cribs but prefers to shut up and comply as Dulari clearly says, Dhani will deal with the court issues on behalf of the widow.
Lalla comes crying to Dashrant! worried about what would people say? if they discover he is behind wrongfully throwing out of the shelter which his forefathers granted for a sheltered home for the widows. He panics the court has summoned him, he's afraid of conviction, shows fear! and babbles even Dashrant won't be able to save him. Lalla wants protection from Dashrant.. has the knack to deal with people who fear, a smear on their name..to Lalla he says, how can you be my devotee if you don't trust me? told you repeatedly I will look after you ? then why the anxiety? Lalla you are under my protection.. no one can harm, no need to worry be brave every second your luck is changing.. he plays on Lalla's weakness of greed for expanding his power and money.
Vip Tania Dhani scene...it's an endearing scene about wanting to know what Dhani thinks..about him? They end up squabbling .It's all about you said this! you did! this happens both ways. Viplav, is in a tizzy about why she didn't say outright that she's pleased he is fighting their case! but then Dhani has her own bones to pick with him! Like I always say, it's recess time in the school playground where these two can even fight over things like the colour of the sky ,day or night. Viplav spares no opportunity to pick on her.. I feel he does so to engage her into a one to one session with him, lock eyes with her whenever, whether it's a furrowed frown ,a piercing glare ,or a dreamy ,bemused half a smile.. name calling, derogatory but not overly insulting ones is usually at his fingertips! A few moments ago he called her a vicious cat.. now he calls her a slow crawling ant who need to pick up speed up! so work can be tackled fast.. Dhani tells him she's in a greater hurry to get the case over and done with! then comes the argument between them as to who has more sense? Dhani maintains she has! anyone can see that.. Viplav.. comes out with his persecution complex! why does she hate him? she confesses, she doesn't , but what she hates are his weird and horrid jokes! finally Viplav comes out with what was eating him side. When he had asked inside. about if any one had objections to him fighting the case, she had said, she was saying yes reluctantly only for the sake of the ashram.. Viplav reacts and yells, I too say yes I fight the case for the sake of the ashram! not you! and he says you are such a killjoy !.. Tania the calm referee sounds a horn and shouts shall we go? and he yells, Tania tell her ,the door opens from the outside not inside! and Dhani says if he doesn't get it it's not my fault! is Dhani trying to tell Viplav to back off his advances.. fools rush in where angels fear to tread?
The bribe.. or greasing the palm.. is referred to in a scene between Viplav and Dhani.. although it is a serious issue found in societies, and both giving and taking pay offs comes under the width of corruption and falls under the moral weakness of those societies who practice it. I also hasten to add that backhanding and bribes can be done in other ways too like granting favours.. But money seems to be the most preferred way forward.. In the episode it is presented rather light heartedly as it contributes to a bonding scene between Viplav and Dhani.. Dhani stands in queue asks for the relevant quarterly bills from the man. Viplav he jumps the queue and offers money to the man.. Dhani clearly states she cannot be party to the act.. he mocks and reveals he used the same method to get the ashram door open.. Dhani curtly replies she did not witness that ,but she can see and thus disapproves his manner of offering bribe to get his work done! well the moral of the story in the end was that .. he does get the bills! Although have to say.. he allows the scene to run ,so that Dhani can sermonize to him... that honesty is the best policy.. Viplav tries to show her that a little manipulation can get urgent matters done at the show of a crisp note..
Much to my amusement, dear Viplav uses bribery again to be in Dhani's good books! Viplav follows Dhani as she leaves him to join Tania, he calls ,hey bundle of complaints! Here take it for you! take one!.. and she gets excited ,choc! my mum used to give it to me, as a child to make up with me! then she suddenly checks herself as he stands looking down at her in quiet amusement at her spontaneityof letting herself go and break into a smile!.. peace offering.. an enticement a sweetner!!! he says, I am pleased at least you have accepted something from my hands, can I suggest now that since I have resumed your case, you should stop fighting with me?she takes the choc and retorts, when do I fight ?every time you start.. and he says no I don't! you start the squabble! She says, no I don't I just stay quiet! never say anything! and he says yes you do! always picking out my faults, you criticized me on the watch, the file on everything! and she says, look you are yelling again! strange boy you! and walks off and he yells I yell? hey!.. ahhh here they go again.
Tania is one confident lass who never worry's about what people think, she follows her instinct.. she calls Inderani nanny.. is Inderani really her nanny?...Inderini asks Tania ,find out where is Viplav can't see him?. Tania says she'll call her that. Widows wait in the court. Viplav drives in ,jumps out of car ,and presses the key fob locks the car with Dhani still in the back seat. Dhani is locked in calls the lawyer, . she takes his name in the locked name presses the handle , beats the pane but is locked in the car! the door she yells! Viplav reaches the dm court.. tells the defendants don't you worry we won't lose this case. Inderani asks where is Dhani? he realizes and says he'll be back in a minute! and runs to the car and touches his ears in horror as she looks at him from the inside of the locked car window.. he pulls the key out! and she says ,what kind of a person you are? doing these actions don't know how you'll practice law and he presses his palm on her face! and she is horrified.. Viplav glares her down into silence. look I am really sorry I am so embroiled in your case I get confused.. and she says, you have no idea how frightened I was? he says he's sorry! Tania calls them hurry up the hearing is about to start!.. very noticeable Dhani didn't say much about his palm slammed against her mouth.. and she didn't make her usual banter either! Good ole'Tania glides in like an angel!
Exposure of deceit.. where will it all end? Things look shaky for Viplav when they are told , the hearing is cancelled as Lalla had a heartache is in in hospital ,till he's not better the hearing will not resume. viplav says that's bad news as by the time he recovers he would have left for USA. How will we fight the case? the news turns serious Inderani swoons, and ends up in hospital. Viplav gives the support to the widows in the hospital.. says what is needed to Dhani.. not to worry just pray , she'll recover in no time. besides we are here will be back and Viplav goes off.. over hears someone he recognizes as he walks past a room.. how long will this farce go on for? a woman asks. seeing is believing! it's Lalla! who says, I don't know what Dashrant prabhu wants? Viplav is shocked!! things are not as they seem? Viplav finds out more Lalla says I am here on his saying.. how do I know how long I am here for? Viplav barges in and glares at Lalla ..and says, now if you do as I say ,you won't have to stay longer at the hospital! But if I prove this perjury of yours then you might end up in jail! Viplav threatens. Lalla starts complaining of chest pain tells his wife to call doc. I 'll die ..she leaves and Viplav pops a grape in lalla mouth ,.. eat! there's no need to carry on with this farce before me.. I have heard everything.. now tell me the truth how his dadi ji involved in this? he says it's nothing my chest heart badly so prabhu's name slipped out of my mouth. and Viplav grabs the bunch of grapes and tries to smother him with it, you trying to kid me? lying to me ! I heard it all with my ears now tell me the truth! how is dadi ji involved.? you said you didn't know why prabhu asked you to do all this? now tell me the truth!! Lalla is fearful and says I am an ordinary man all I am saying is what you are asking me ,you ask from your grandad.. he is the gun and I am just a bullet! Viplav climbs the bed and grabs Lalla by the neck stop fobbing me off by gun and bullet nonsense! tell me straight how is dadi ji involved? Lalla says without his permission I cannot disclose anything! if I lose it then you 'll really end up here! for the next six months he says I do as prabhu tells me to do! I don't do anything on my own you ask him please! he begs and Viplav leaves in a huff! Lalla plants the first seed of doubt in Viplav's mind about the nature of Dashrant.. he only has one thing to do now.. check and tally the information with his grandfather. His mother ,tries to dissuade him by saying Dashrant was asleep but Viplav comes to wake Dashrant from his slumber.. Viplav is prompted by his quest to find the truth and prove Lalla wrong out of his loyalty and love for his gradfather. But Dashrant is shrewd enough to turn the tables over! and instead he gives Viplav the guilt trip treatment! Makes Viplav admit that it was Lalla who put doubt in his mind.. Dashrant had enough pro widows and their ashram proofs to give to Viplav and easily hood wink his grandson into submission.. it was a painful scene to watch how this cruel wicked man was slowly choking this young upcoming lawyer.. who took an oath to serve the needy ones of society ..here was Dashrant trying to implant a dormant pain in Viplav that will raise it's ugly head sooner or later in Viplav's life .. when he discovers that the man he thought of as an icon of goodness is in fact as ugly as sin!.. Viplav may stop believing in virtue altogether.. Viplav with a scowl asks did you ask Lalla to feign illness? told him to get to the hospital? I don't believe Lalla one bt ,as my heart says he 's lying..ever since he told me this I am thrown! You said to me you'll go to the ashram and apologize to them. sort their problems out for them..? then what is lalla trying to say?is there something about this case thay you know and I don't know?.. Dashrant does into denial mode,I cannot understand too! what you are saying and about whom? If lalla said something against me and you believed him? and if something tasks against you before me ,would I believe him? I would teach him such a lesson that he would remember all his life! I wouldn't spare him so he would remember all his life! I dismiss everything spoken against you because I trust my son.. but Viplav my child I didn't expect this from you? I thought you understand the language of my eyes.. heart the beats of my heart but how wrong I was! why didn't I die before saying all this to you.. this is the plus point of Dashrant.. he knows when to strike.. when he finds that the other is at his most weakest point Viplav grabs his arm and cries why are you saying all this? because of that Lalla I had doubt in my mind.. that's why I came and asked you to clarify matters.. but you don't take it to heart.. look for your sake I went to the widows shelter, and apologized, after you won the case I threw a huge party but it was to no avail. Absolutely useless as from now I will stop speaking! won't speak to any one !and will observe maun vrat as of now!.. it's the vow to keep silent for spiritual growth that's essential to make ones speech pure and this will continue till Iam not assured when to speak!.. now what will other's say? Dashrant tripathi maintains silence for spiritual purification.. how easily guile and deceit cheats the good and the upright? But all is not lost Viplav has been shaken up today.. has his battle began?..against the farcical front of Dashrant tripathi.. the head of his household..hamlet53 15.9.15
Ok a month over.. Roopal thanks for your post..on IKRS.. monthly review.. read it folks if you haven't done so already.. interesting, scenes between vidha. Really,Viplav's sense of humour is one of his major strengths.. oops! Dhani doesn't quite like them.. what did he call her today?? Sarahi hoi.. I nearly fell of my chair! no wonder she gives him the tigress looks.. he asks for it.. mind you, how many enjoyed the dairy milk today? I was more interested in their slinging matches! and Lalla ki chest pains.. ..
Precap.. Dhani at the potters wheel.. Viplav says to dulari today I have discovered your buchiya can do other things than tender complains.. she said she saw a potter whose carted pots were knocked over .. she can't see others in sorrow.. Viplav helps her at the potters wheel..
