Pitch Report: "The average score here at this venue is around 190. Take this pitch to any other venue, it'll be 210-215 because of the dimension of this ground. It's quite a big venue here. 72m and 60m square boundaries, down the ground it's 78m. This pitch has been used before. It's a red soil pitch," says Deep Dasgupta. More insights from Shane Watson - "It looks like a really nice surface. The one thing that I saw straightaway is how hard this surface is. If you come down and have a look at this surface and hear it, there's been a lot of rolling on this surface. As soon as I came out and put my fingers into the surface, it made me want to put on the pads. It is red soil, so there's going to be pace and bounce for the quicks, there's going to be a little bit of grip on this surface as well for the spinners. It's going to be a very good cricket wicket. If you bowl well, things will go well. If you bat well, there's going to be shots all around the ground. The Lucknow Super Giants batters, top three in particular, they are gonna want to make the most of this surface." Dasgupta adds, "It might turn a little in the first half, almost the same way it played in the first game where LSG got 172 batting first and it was chased down rather easily by Punjab Kings. This might be a 'win the toss and chase' kind of a pitch."
