@ Janu - Ekta had the right actors for some parts is right, like Rakshanda as Amba and Sakshi as Ganga, but the wrong ages for most others 😕

@ Aishu - Shukdevji was Ved Vyas's son and the main narrator of the Bhagavat. I thought you got to his introduction in SK already but guess you were referring to the part where Parikshit's own kulguru tells him about the Bhagavat... you'll see him soon enough 😉

Yeah, I liked Sakshi as Ganga too....if only they did not make her look like a 21st century party dancer...and the lady who played Devaki was pretty though she had on way too much eyeliner and makeup for someone in prison.😆 Not only the wrong ages, the dressing and makeup of the actors was worse...I can deal with wrong ages as long as the people look decent...anyhow, enough about KHMK, back to SK.😉 We watched more SK today and got to the part where Sandeepani Muni tells Krishna and Balram the Dasha Avatar stories...just finished Mohini Avtaar before calling it a night.
Just wish I could get the entries done with as well...but classes started and I'm already loaded with homework.😭😭

Actually she looked like Gaya from Captain Planet... ah, I miss cartoons 😆 Oh, everyone on that show was pretty... talent is a whole other ballgame though 🤔 As I've mentioned before I thought Ekta's Devaki was written more positively and consistently than JSK's... but yeah, back to good old SK shall we 😆 The Sandipani epis... you must've seen two really great songs then, the Sada Shiv Mahakaal one that he learns as part of his sangeet training and the Mohini avtaar one, which is among my top favs cuz it's soooo catchy Plus all the hints in the song... very cleverly written 😆

@ Aishu - yaar, where's your entry for the day?? Got me all excited by watching so much so soon 😆

Hi guys! Sadly, I only watched episode 4 today, not more. But this was where Shukdevji was shown. I loved how he told about the human condition and how to achieve moksh. You know in the last episode, where the kulguru tells the difference between moksh and swarg? Well, I reflected on that for a long time before I watched this. I even discussed this with my mom. I think it makes so much sense! When one does punye, its measurable, and then so is the fruit of it. But when one falls in the ocean of bhakti, as told in SK, one gains the limitless fruit of moksh. I know my words don't make it sound that great, but its so beautiful! And then Shukdevji himself told of how he fell in love with Krishna's pageants and how one should always sing of Krishna's glories! That's the only way to Moksh! And then it went on to cover the first part of Matsya Avtaar. And hey, one more thing, is the person narrating the Krishna leela Ramanand Sagar himself?

^^ Aww, no probz Aishu, as long as you watched 😃 And very happy you enjoyed, those teachings of Shukdevji are really beautiful and striking - this point has come up in a few of our discussions and it's a big one, that devotion is beyond punya - because you usually do punya to achieve something else, and you do bhakti ideally for its own sake. These early epis are very serene and peaceful, aren't they 😍 Interesting fact about Shukdevji - he is said to have had complete gyaan right from conception, and hence he stayed in his mother's womb for 16 years with the understanding that the world he'd be born into was all illusion and he'd rather dwell in the truth and not be bothered by all its ups and downs. Only when Naradji started narrating the Bhaagvat to his father Ved Vyas did he decide to come out, because hearing about Krishna gave him more bliss than even that ultimate peace he was already situated in, and he was born solely so he could hear and say more about Krishna. He could not even see the difference between men and women, he was that lost in Krishna 😲 Anyway, can't wait for more from you when you next get a chance to watch!

@Lola,

Yes, I loved the Sada Shiv Mahakaal song from SK, esp since it was the same tune as the one used in new Ramayan which I loved a lot.😍 The way Lord Shiva is described in all those words was just really catching and beautiful.👏 And I liked the song Mohini Devi sings, but...to tell you the truth (brace yourself)....I didn't really like the actress so much.😳😆☺️ Lols, sowwie Loli, I know how much you love her and all, but had to be blunt with you.😆
She felt she overacted during her dialogue with the devtas and danavas...and...er...she was not as pretty as I imagine Mohini Devi to be.🤓

@ pari - arre yaar no probz about timing and all, tum kabhi bhi dekh ke likho apne entry and if not same day, then next day we'll gush over how much we enjoyed reading it usme kya harja hai 😛😆 you lead by telling us what you saw and what you thought, we'll follow!! as for today... glad you enjoyed the Ramayan recaps, as I don't rewatch the Gurukul epis tooooo often so I d'nt remember whether it's before or after the Ram Katha narration, but Sandipani gives a really awesome explanation on how Shri Ram had 12 kalas so he was Maryada Purushottam and the next (not knowing it was his own student Krishna) would have 16 kalas and be poorna avtaar. Very cool explanation that helps us sort out comparisons people come up with between the two incarnations. can't wait to hear more from you, esp if you start from scratch with the online links like Aishu 😉

@ janu - lolz don't worry, you're safe - I too didn't much care for the lady playing Mohini, not sure where you got that 😆 It's just the song I love, since I'm into dance anyway - it's really fun and classical and peppy and the goofy grins on the daanavs' faces while watching her are quite entertaining 😆 the lady's not even an actress so what to expect... I'm thinking she was a lead dancer in that Natraj troupe that choreographed all of Ramayan and SK songs, because she can be spotted in every semi-danceable number in SK - the birth song in Gokul (she's the lady who puts the black dot on baby Kanha to ward off evil eye), Kanhaiya Jhoole Palna where they're all in yellow right after Shivji's visit, the Govardhan celebration song, etc. Considering that she was trained and the song was that awesome, they could've given it more intricate steps like the Jarasandh welcome song that's not in your set but... oh well 😆 glad you liked the songs, thought you would 😛 prepare yourself for really cute Swapnil-Sanjeev (Balram's name was Sanjeev Sharma) during the Jarasandh epis soon to come!!
