I remember reading it was the Brahmastra that Arjuna and Aswathama used against each other. If not it can be Pasupathastra.

But the last clue confuses me. As far as I recall Indrajit already had the three ultimate weapons - the Brahmastra, the Vaishavastra and the Pasupathastra which he used against Lakshman one after the other. This happened after Lakshman saved Vibhishan from indrajit's wrath (from the Yamastra). It was after these three weapons failed, that Indrajit realised that Lakshman was no ordinary man and reported to Ravan and we know what happened after that.

Sammohana astra was a weapon that would put all its targets to sleep, avoiding any bloodshed. The only case I know of where it was used was the above, where a Gandharva whom Aja rescued gave him the weapon, and he used it to put Indumati's rival suitors to sleep when they tried to challenge his marriage to her.

yea.....that's what i thought........Vyasa had to kkeep both arjunn & ashwatthama from destroying the world with Brahmastra, indrajit did the yagna to be invincible, because he already had Brahmastra 2 others and the Shakti.........so i'm confused too! LOL

Answer is Brahmashira. Different weapon from Brahmastra. As Vibs pointed out, Indrajit had the latter, but had he completed that yagna, he'd have gotten the invincible chariot, as well as the former weapon, which would have been the end of not just Lakshman, but Rama as well.

P.S. Pashupatastra was the weapon Arjun received from Shiva, and which he probably used to kill Jayadrath. The 13th night, in his dream, he & Krishna approached Mahadev, who told them to use that weapon against Jayadrath. It was never used b/w Arjun & Ashwatthama
