On top of that Yashraj, Yashraj and Yashraj comment only made matters worse.

woudn't your dad have done anyting for you to reach your dreams ? he would have. So thats what his dad did.

so i would really appreciate if you dont call something someone's dad did for their son as ''cheap''
Thank you

Also, Dont forget - it was still up to the judges to pick him or not.IF my dad begged would i hv got in ? NO .. why ? because I sing like a frog

If the zuubi doobie guy's dad begged would he get in ? - NO

No doubt you are a Yashraj fan. Now read this very carefully Miss.
If I am successful today, yes I owe a lot to my parents but I never made my parents beg to anyone. I trust my hard work. And I would never, even in my dreams make my father beg. If I had been Yashraj at the audition, I would have happily gone off and said I would come back stronger next year. He didn't even have the courtesy to say to his dad that Papa please don't do this.
I am really surprised by your answer.
Yes even if Zooby Dooby's dad would have begged he won't have made it. But do you have any idea how much singers come for audition. Only 10% of that is shown on TV. I can tell you there is lot of talent apart from 113 people who cleared the first round. Oh yes there would have been many contestants who would have got second chance had their father also begged. What if Arvind, Lakshya, Geetesh's dad also begged. They were also talented.
Mam I come from the country where people like Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Chandrashekhar Azad have been born. And I suppose you also come from that country. Hum sir kata sakte hain par sir jhukha nahin sakte. Hamara sir jhukta hain to sirf bhagwan ke aage. I am seriously shocked by seeing your reply. I hate to say this but you should be ashamed of calling yourself an Indian.

😆

Your argument is completely flawed. So many singers got rejected. Let's say 1% of them had one of their parents with them. Assuming 4 lakh people auditioned (which is an underestimate), that means 4,000 people's parents COULD HAVE begged. I doubt that many begged - coz the only person who I saw begging was Yashraj's dad. So your first premise is wrong... Not all parents would/did do this...

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking for a second chance for your son. Some parents are like that... BUT kneeling down and literally begging with your hands clasped together! I would not be able to tolerate my father doing that for me. And I don't think 4,000 parents would have done that either.

Anyway, I just intervened in this argument to clear that up. I have other thoughts about Yash Raj really...

what acutally surprised me was your ''because of what his father did on auditions. I think it was a very cheap act.'' .. you referring to what his dad did as being ''cheap''

His dad got on his knees yes, because he believed that the judges had made some mistakes in judging him and also becuase he thought his son deserves a place. Which was proved right anyway.

A parent is a parent, and my parents have done alot of things for me which they didnt have to but they did becuase they love me and beleive in me evne when others dont and would want to give me the oppurtunity to reach my potential. and thats exactly waht his dad did.

All i was trying to say was you shoudnt have labbelled that cheap.

Dont blow this out of proportion and you have no right to tell me I should be ashamed of myself for anything.

As a self respecting person, I wouldnt want my parents to beg or kneel in front of ANYONE for ANYTHING. I would let my hard work and talent do the thing. Period.

How do you know all 4000 could not sing? Just because Yashraj was shown on TV, you know that he could sing. Well you know about Geetesh, Kanika, Lakshya and Arvind's talent. What if their father would have begged and they would have sing better than Yashraj. You are not a astrologist.

So you are saying that although Yashraj's father begged, THAT was not the deciding factor. The ultimate deciding factor was that Yashraj had talent, which he proved in his second chance.

OK, I get that. In fact everyone on the thread gets that.

What Brahmabul was saying was something completely different. He said that his father was CHEAP to beg like that. According to you, apparently begging like that is something every parent would do. But as I have already shown - 4,000 parents (estimated) had the opportunity to beg and only Yashraj's father did. Which proves it is not common to beg like that. It doesn't matter what the outcome is. Sure, Yashraj is talented. But that doesn't take away from the fact that his father kneeled and begged like that. It doesn't take away from the fact that he tolerated that be-izzati of his father on national TV.

Now hopefully you can understand why some people would think that that whole spiel was cheap.

I never mentioned Yashraj's dad as cheap. I referred to his actions as cheap. There are lot of parents who believe in the talents of their children. Which parent doesn't? But only handful will engage in doing something which Yahraj's father did.
You probably don't understand the meaning of self-respect and dignity. Of course you didn't comment anything about the bold portion which I think is beyond your understanding.

Agreed. I woudn't too. But I woudn't be surprised if my parents did it and I can see myself doing it in the future if I have to for my kids.

But my point is he is not there ONLY because his dad begged. and just because his father begged, didn't guarentee him an entry. and Not everyone whos father begged have been in.
