If I were them...I would look at Zeenat dying...only way to make this clean. Sahir then goes into even more depression that he was unable to show Zeenat what he became and Arzoo helps him out of that.
But before that they do need to bring out Zeenats past pronto.
Don't think they will kill Zeenat, if they get extension then she is going to be their trump card to create friction between the two leads. But yeah they could show that the docs have declared her condition irreversible or that he had given her the divorce papers but before he could get her to sign, she had an accident.
But more than that, they should show Arzoo's POV to the audience for us to connect with her. Sahir works for us because we know that despite his grey character, he doesn't harm anyone intentionally, you see his tears, his self talk and feel his pain. Like for example, when they showed the precap about him threatening to burn her family down, most people believed that he was just fibbing and would never actually harm her family. He is shown to rethink his actions, reminiscences about the special moments with Arzoo, so one understands why he is doing what he is doing.
Arzoo doesn't do any such thing, its like Sahir and the moments spent together with him just do not exist for her. She never reflects on her actions, just does things like a petulant child and thats why we stay disconnected with her. Look at the way they showed her non-reactive to Zaki's proposal initially, She doesn't rebuke him or ask why he is in such a hurry to marry her. She doesn't bother to ask questions about Sahir's first wife ever. A little bit more depth in her character would work wonders for her, Now if she turns dark just because she is recently annoyed with her family and tells Sahir she hates him, its kinda stupid isn't it?
Cvs need to have a tighter script and better execution of the scenes. I know a daily soap cannot run of two people alone, one needs other characters to take the story forward, but if the focus shifts from the main leads to the sidey characters too much, they are going to lose the audience.
Lastly it does need to be promoted better, they had such a horrid montage of the nikah that noone in their sensible minds would turn the TV on to see who was marrying whom. Look at the way they promote MP or CID, or even INKMP these days, they are in your face literally, but Humsafars is hardly ever promoted. Its like they just want to pretend that the serial does not exist.
HS has so much scope that if the creative team makes a bit more effort, they can come with a gem of a serial that will be talked about and watched for a long time to come. The question is, are they willing to invest their time and money on it ?
