Arzoo's lesson, and the upcoming track

Leaving aside all the psychological morass of Sahir and Arzoo's emotions and motivations, and who is more affected, I was really struck by the way Zara and Myrah spoke to Arzoo today, and the lesson that she learnt about the materialism and inherent cruelty of the world we live in.

Sahir urged Arzoo to leave her kitabi duniya and enter into the real world where money and influence matters over anything else, changing your friends into foes and vice-versa. Perhaps he is a tad too pessimistic, but his assessment of people's motives, and his understanding of how they tick is not far from the truth. 😳

The only part where I disagreed with him was the example he gave- that even a baby cries and gurgles only so that it can get something from its mother. That he attributed something insidious to an innocent baby shows how disillusioned he is with the world, and perhaps how far he must have been deceived by Zeenat😭 Otherwise, say what you will, the guy is spot on in his understanding of the world. 👏

Poor Arzoo realized the hard way in today's episode that perhaps Sahir was spouting some very uncomfortable home truths, courtesy her own sisters. The words they spoke to her was probably the "unkindest cut" of all. You could see the reality sinking in at the precise moment when Myrah chided Arzoo for not marrying Zaki and making their lives easier. I was wondering, why didn't Myrah say the same to Zara who has the money, yet refuses to part with it?😡 The CV's have been on a rampage with some of the characters, and sadly even the lovable Myrah was not spared today. Suffice to say that both Sahir and Arzoo have the worst families in the history of mankind, and they must run away to the other end of the earth for them to have even an iota of peace in their lives🥱

In any case, Arzoo's education is complete. The naive, idealistic Arzoo is a far cry from the hardened and pragmatic Arzoo the writers have in store for us, which is what the spoilers suggest. The spoilers also add that Sahir will be immensely troubled by her changed demeanour.

I don't know about you all, but I feel this is perhaps the perfect track to delineate that they are humsafars in the true sense of the term.😳 At this point, Sahir and Arzoo have become mirror images of each other- betrayed in love, disillusioned, and alienated even from their families. It'd be a treat in particular to see how Sahir handles this new Arzoo, because the man has always admired her for her optimism and idealistic notions, and the whiff of positivity that she brought in his life.

Perhaps a role reversal of sorts will be on- the ruthless Arzoo who will resemble Sahir, and a softened Sahir trying to come to terms with this Arzoo who is a shadow of her former self, while trying his darnedest to reach out to her😳 That he has closely observed her metamorphosis and feels partly responsible for it will make him determined to get through to her and heal her--- and in the process, heal himself, I suppose!

Because we have seen that whenever one of the soulmates is meandering and adrift, the other one always tries to heal and comfort them in their own way. Case in point- when Arzoo alone knows about the gashes on his back and puts the ointment on his skin, or the multiple occasions where she has gauged the endless pain his eyes😳

The new montage has this spot on- a determined and cold Arzoo staring into the distance, her back turned, as a troubled and perplexed Sahir intensely gazes at her. Glad to see the montage having the humsafars only, the previous montage diluted the essence of the show😉-

(Psst... Is this Arzoo's post marriage look- having her head covered?)

In any case, I am waiting to see what Arzoo will do to get her 'revenge' and how Sahir tackles her from now on. The man has oodles of patience as far as she is concerned, so I am sure that his persistence will pay off when it comes to his begum😆

The real question is- I am ready for this safar with our humsafars. Are you???😃

P.S. I want Arzoo's 'revenge' to be directed mostly at Nausheen, Zara and Myrah. I want her to kick their a**** and boot them out of Niyamat House!😃 Especially a scene where Zara comes to seek Arzoo's help and Arzoo calmly turns her down⭐️

If sahir heals himself while healing her then its one sided humsafars isn't it? Sahir did all for her ... even now what he is doing he is doing for love no matter how extreme ... arzoo too needs to have a part bigger than just being there and showing attitude in healing him ... for the concept to be justified both ways ... else it would be all about Sahir's love for her
Also sahir only showed her the real face of the world ... after today's episode it is evident she turns money minded because of her family and its' issues ... so i don't see how her taking revenge from sahir and taunting him is justified ... specially when the marriage is a deal from both sides

I am fine with Sahir healing her first ... but then she needs to explore his life's story and heal him too ... i don't want automatic healing for him just be healing her ... i want her to know his life's pain, his misery, understand it and love him

Aww, Ecri! How have you been, my lady😊 Hope the new year has started on a good note for you!

Oh, it's been so long since I came on IF. I check the site from my phone in a hurry whenever I can. Just logged in with my laptop today. Going to check my inbox just now! I have been keeping well, thanks for asking😊 Life has gotten more and more hectic and demanding, I guess!

And I completely agree with your assessment. If nothing else, Sahir has always been brutally honest when it comes to himself. No sugar coating at all. He sees himself for what he is, and has the guts to confront his reality. And he has always been a mentor and protector to Arzoo, teaching her about the ways of life. It was fitting that he taught her this today😊

Lovely post. As you wisely pointed out, it's all seeming to be very one-sided at the moment. But they're concentrating on Sahir's healing in a way, because Arzoo's coldness reminds him of his own transformation, and how far he has come. And let's cut Arzoo some slack, the past few days have been very dramatic for her, if nothing else😆😉 Sahir might be doing it for mohabbat, but he still disguises it cleverly under the pretext of the 'deal' . She doesn't know that, right?😊

But yeah, they need to build a more stellar role for Arzoo in the future, because there is one hindrance that Sahir is yet to encounter- the biggest of them all, Zeenat. The man is still to come to terms with his past, and let's not forget that Arzoo doesn't know what had transpired in it. When the past is revealed in all its entirety and when Sahir comes face to face with Zeenat after 7 friggin years, it's bound to hit him hard. I envision both Arzoo and Sahir as having come a long way at that point, and for Arzoo to lend him full support and a shoulder to cry on😳

Lol...Nausheen wanted Aarzoo to marry Zaki...now I understand y she is still in love with Sarfaraz!
Zara's money ,she has the right to do whatever she wants, I feel Aarzoo could have asked her the money as loan, n then given it back to her...nothing wrong with that...

Myra...hmmm can't relate to what she said, but she had a valid point,n made Aarzoo realized that the house they r living in is also not theirs...toh kis baat ka guroor...

Well,Sahir told her the same thing...but she hates him...so will she hate Myra, Zara n Nausheen also? If not, then am I justified in accusing Aarzoo of double standards?

I feel for Aarzoo strongly, yes it hurts when ur family doesn't support u at an emotionally challenging time...it hurts when u have friends like Zaki, it hurts when ur first love turns out to be a betrayal...

But she needs to let go of her impulsiveness n her overconfidence...

Let her play the tom n jerry game with Sahir, let her understand him, let her set herself free of her preconceived notions of being betrayed in love... If only...she does so...

BOLD- I think you expressed all our feelings so well there👏

As for the matter about Zara's loan- Money is a touchy subject, and is of foremost importance in this world, as Sahir wisely pointed out. No doubt Zara should be looking out for herself. But I disagree with her doing so at such a critical juncture- at a time when her mom could go to jail! It's pitiful that she can't support her family at a trying time like this. Zara's nonchalance, and her saying that we should look the other way when Nausheen is weeping was so cold-blooded!

I suspect that Arzoo's changed behaviour will be directed not only towards Sahir but also towards her family😃

Agree on the money part, however can't deny that Aarzoo has always snapped at Zara whenever she tried to say anything related to family matters...like wen she got her first paycheck ,Zara spent a lot...but she got only lectures from Aarzoo...
In all fairness, the 1st salary a person always spends on getting gifts for their loved ones... Maybe tats on Zaras mind...not defending her...
As far as SaAz...I don't know...but Sahir will get her out of this too...how, and when only Allah knows...but I only wish that whatever hatred is ,is inside their bedroom...not outside...let them resolve their issues themselves, no third party interference
