If you watch any of the show by Vankar, be it Ghum or KKIS,(I don't watch both, I just read a few updates in IF) you will definitely get scared of Indian Joint Families, Whereas I grew up in a happy joint family.

I would never want my child to be a part of a joint family, if it is of this kind as shown in Vankar shows.

My MIL and three SILs were total fans of this show and they watched it only for Pakhi. Yes. Pakhi. They watched it in TV, and they sympathised with Pakhi as they took the story of Pakhi loosing her love, Virat, she had to get married to his brother and stay in the same house and later Virat got married to Sai. They all considered Pakhi as bechari abala nari, who is a total looser.

A few months back my MIL came to stay with us. she was watching the show in evenings and I get too much irritated with even dialogues. My husband used to take me out for walk before he puts on the show for her. My husband could not understand why I am so against a show. It was Sam's death track I think

I just asked him to watch a single episode, listen to Pakhi's dialogues and think about it. And it worked wonders. 🤣

My husband banned the whole family from watching the show. And my MIL and all SILs silently agreed to him. What a DIL can not do, a son can easily get it done in Indian families, you know. Now I am happy that i have successfully reduced 4 viewers of the show.😉😉

hence proved, why the makers are hell bent on making the show P-tracked!

Everyone is obsessed with Pakhi

I have seen it on and off , may be totally 10-15 epis I have seen..earlier I enjoyed the dog fight . Then I enjoyed the dog fight again the dog fight 🤣 Does ghum has anything else to offer ?

@topic maker , ur so so so so right in ur theory. This is the exact reason I used to like sai..I can't take out my frustration on some ppl as I avoid confrontations and that's why I love bold characters .

Anyways I just know what goes on in the show , may be on daily basis it's entertainment for some ..but not for me..itna bhi insult insult nai dekhna , plus heroines like anupama and sai fight for their self respect but wohi self respect ko swaha bhi kar rahi hoti hai saath saath by not leaving the toxicity behind . So this kind of entertainment is not ok for me..

Plus I despise virat so much , I can't stand his face on screen. Pakhi is still OK, I mean I can watch her getting arrested n getting humiliated but virrrrat sir is loved by sai so no thank you.

I had started watching this show because Diya aur Baati Hum started re-airing during 2020 lockdown and I had seen Neil Bhatt there and was really charmed by that character.

I have never seen him any other show and I tuned into this one, simply because he was playing a police officer again.

Little did I know that he was going to play Virat - a lawbreaker and a defender of criminals, in a police uniform.

Damn true...

I left this show long back, but still come back to see what's happening 😆... but atleast I never watched the show in hotstar or TV, but in insta.. but nowadays I have started watching in hotstar as you say addictive 🤢

Aaj tho, I was screaming with anger watching the episode thinking that Virat is ready to let his bachha leave from his life, but not Pakhi! The whole family is suffering, in their opinion, bcoz of Sai's decision; but in my opinion their own decision of bringing back Pakhi.. waise my blood boils everytime I watch this show, but today, myself being a mother couldn't control.. tho thought will sneak to the forum and see what's happening here 😆

SO TRUE! In fact, for me, the best joint family show has been a very old one - Baa Bahu aur Baby. That show portrayed all the highs and lows of living in one.

I have not lived in a joint family but it made me feel very fondly towards such an arrangement.

at bold- me too.

growing up in a joint family was a boon for us as we lost father at very young age.

A Joint family is good or bad....It all depends on who/how is the matriarch/patriarch ....

Now - I do not prefer joint family, I would rather select to stay a bit closer to family but in separate setting.

I think because people like to enjoy a bit of sadistic self.

Since it shows Sai suffer and Patralekha get away with it, it somehow fascinates them.

Because I have read that people do have 4% of sadistic feelings in them and they enjoy watching others getting the wrong end of the deal.
