Present times.....Mumbai....
Maan couldn't stop thinking about Geet... The Geet he met at the airport is not the one he met in Hoshiarpur... that's what Maan prefers to believe.... this not the Geet he loved...
Geet has changed her looks... She has adopted to city life... Her world was too small when they met... Her world has expanded now and she has no limitations... Her choices are endless.. she has taken charge of her life now.... That's what Maan wanted and he should be happy for her now... But he doesn't seem to be happy at all.... He has to realise one thing... People change with times and their likings also change...
But strangely Maan has not changed... He is the same MSK who fell in love with a stupid innocent simple village girl... And his love for her has not diminished in these few years...
He may not have become another Devdas but his condition is much the same... He has been fooling himself by escaping to a distant land far far away from her...
But what he doesn't understand is that our thoughts can beat even light and our mind can take you to places or persons in a second...
After seeing her it's becoming more and more difficult to get rid of her thoughts....
Adi comes from the cafeteria...he has got some useful information from M.bhai.....
Adi tells Maan that Munna Bhai gave them an invitation for a builder's meet that's taking place in the week end...
M.bhai has assured that they could meet every builder in the city at one place and get to know the giants too....
Maan thinks that though M.bhai has an attitude problem he is handy and would do anything for money.... You can't just start off instantly in a new place... You have to establish yourself frist by doing joint ventures with already trusted people in the business before people could start to have faith in your work and like to work with you....
Maan asks Mohan to come that weekend when they could discuss more about further plans... When Maan enquired Adi for KC's acquaintance with any of the firms in Mumbai Maan found out they had no history in Mumbai whatsoever...
Mohan didn't think that Maan would take this so seriously and he was only hoping to get Maan on board first... Now Mohan too needs to take Mumbai seriously for KC is looking for expansion anyway and this could be a good opportunity... They are ready for new investments and it needs to be a well thought fool proof plan...
Actually this is Madan's share of the company that rightfully belong to Maan... But Maan wouldn't accept any idea that would keep him in India, if they say it is for him he would take off immediately..he is here only for Vicky...
Maan loves his little brother and sister so much and they have always been in contact with him in these 5 years... They share everything with him... Even Arjun has become close to Maan.... Arjun and Annie even visited Maan as he kept asking them to come to Canada once... They had a great time together as Maan took care of the whole trip... Now Maan has asked Vicky to take his wife to Canada soon....
At the Khanna house....
Dev and Geet get ready to go to the office.... Geet takes care of the office while Dev is out of town... Dev is always on the run... He likes travelling and wandering around... That kind of helps him forget all the pressures and refreshes him....
Geet is only happy to take care of both the family and business so that Dev could take his breaks without any worries... Actually Dev is very lucky to have Geet in his life.. she has been his pillar of strength...
Gayatri is waiting for them to have breakfast together... it's a strict rule that Gayatri put that they have their breakfast together, that is the time she gets to spend with her son who is shuttling between home and abroad regularly... She is fed up with his escapist activities and wants him to take full responsibility of the family..
Dev is in a hurry... He has to catch up with all the missed days progress at the office... Geet regularly updates him thru mails and calls but he just wants to relieve Geet of her extra burdens for Geet gets her breaks only when he is home...
Gayatri: good morning beta
Dev: morning maa
Geet: good morning maaji
Gayatri is worried about Geet... She was upset last night.. but she looks normal now... Geet has mastered the art of suppressing her feelings in these 5 years... She has gone thru so much and has become a Budha... But just when she thought she has overcome her past here comes Maan... She was disturbed, but now that she knows he has gone back she is also back to her life....
Dev grabs a paratha in one hand a pack of juice on the other...
Dev: bye maa, let's go Geet
Gayatri: hare aasie kaise? Dev, pehle beitjao, you don't eat your food on the go, it's not our culture, it's disrespectful to Goddess Annapurna, ye ladhka toh bahar jaake bahut bigadgaya
Dev: maa, subhe subhe shuru mat hojao
Geet: Dev, maaji is right, show some respect to your food, it's not good to complain about your body later
Gayatri: I don't know what to do with this boy, ye sab toh tummari galthi hai Geet, I thought you will bring him on line, but you are spoiling him more
Geet: nahi maaji, not anymore, this should be the last time, Dev, now you have to be with us, maaji needs you to be with her now
Gayatri: it's not about me anymore, you have to think about Geet too, next time if you are planning something you have to take Geet along
Dev: off course maa, but Geet hates travel, she always finds a reason not to come to Canada
Canada is Dev's favourite place, he studied there and has a lot of friends there... Geet hates Canada for obvious reasons...
Gayatri: she'll come this time, now she can't deny, haina Geet?
Geet: ji maaji
Dev: ok let's move
Geet runs after Dev for she couldn't act normal anymore in front of Gayatri... she is constantly reminded of the past... She was not like this before, it's all because of yesterday's happenings... Though she didn't meet Maan her mind couldn't stop thinking of him...
After Dev went out with some clients Geet is left alone and she is lost in the past.... She thinks about how Maan came into her life like a dream and vanished like magic leaving her alone....
Back to Hoshiarpur.....
It's time for the Khuranas to host a party.... Handas are invited to the Khurana farm house for a small party as part of their reunion with the Hoshiarpur folks...
Dadi wants everyone in the pariwar to know their neighbours and well wishers... She knew a few including the Handas and darji helped her find more relatives of Khuranaji...
This time Geet is also going... She is happy for she'll meet Annie, she has become friends with Annie, Annie is a little elder but she likes Geet and her reserved nature... Annie being a chatter box she compels Geet to join the conversation...
Geet is a better listener and whenever the topic comes to Annie's college days Geet gets more curious and asks a few questions about hostel options and all... Annie being a day-ski doesn't know much about the hostel but she says it's good knowing from her friends...
Annie keeps talking about Maan but he is not seen anywhere... He keeps away from all the drama and is fine in his camping... Moreover Maan is busy in some business assignment that Mohan has given him...
Mohan took Maan to KC earlier and introduced Maan as their new boss... He asked Adi to take Maan to the sites so that he would get to know what's it all about... Maan is a quick learner and has inherited his father's business mind....
Geet keeps looking for Maan everywhere... She doesn't know why she is so interested in him... Maybe he is not like the other men she comes across... none of them respect women and Maan is different..
Maan did treat her differently.... he doesn't look at her like someone too weak to take care of herself...
He asked her to fight back.. she didn't get what he meant.. like fight back like Jhansi Rani with talwar?
But Geet doesn't know how to fight... She has seen Maan fighting.. he is so good.. wished she had half his strength and courage.. but she is from the weaker sex.. they are naturally subordinates... that's what she has been made to believe....
But she doesn't realise about the mental strength and courage that Maan meant.... she is such a coward or she has been brought up like that...
She just wants to know what Maan really want her to do, remember his advice about fighting back...
Geet's strong belief is that education gives women freedom, and teaches men to respect women.. that's why the Khuranas are different.. they are well educated... Even Annie is a graduate and she is not afraid of anyone...
Geet wants her freedom thru education... She wants to be independent so that she need not keep listening to the orders of the men of her family or any man for that matter, she knows that if she stays in Hoshiarpur she will soon be enslaved to another master in the name of husband.... She has to escape soon....
Dadi calls Maan and asks him to join them for lunch strictly... Maan doesn't want to disappoint her so he comes to their farm house not knowing that there is a carnival going on there....
Maan comes in the jeep and looks at the crowd... He immediately turns around to leave...he then hear a voice.."Bhaiya bhaiya... "
Maan looks around and it's Teeto..
Teeto: humme bhi lekhe jaoona bhiya.... he wants to ride in the jeep with his friends... God! this jeep has become the Handa chariot and Maan has become their chauffeur..
But Maan is happy that the Handas are here... He is curious about that girl.... Maan asks Teeto and party to get in.... He slowly asks Teeto about his sister and finds out Geet is also here... now Maan wouldn't miss the lunch..
Maan gets in and dadi is so happy... She introduces Maan to the eligible parents who have daughters for marriage... Maan feels uncomfortable when dadi is all praises of Maan .... most of them are lies as dadi is yet to know Maan herself....
Maan is not interested in those fake conversations and is more worried about that stupid girl... Maan excuses himself and goes in search of Annie for she would definitely know about Geet... Maan is right and Geet is with Annie only...
Maan spots Geet but Maan couldn't reach her easily... Thanks to dadi, he has to encounter the questionnaires of a lots of aunties.... His eyes keep following Geet and she is also staring him only.. but whenever he tries to make eye contact she turns her eyes away... Maan thinks that she is afraid of her family who are also present and tries to stay away from her...
Geet is also looking for him though she doesn't know that herself.. it's like some magnet she is attracted to...Geet is puzzled as to why she has this feeling that Maan is always staring her or why she is stalking him...
Maan goes missing and Geet naturally starts searching for him in the whole place... when she goes past a room upstairs she is pulled inside by someone and the doors close behind her...
Geet is scared and is about to shout when that person shuts her mouth with his hands... Chup bilkul chup...
It's Maan... He warns her not to utter a word while he takes his hands back... Geet is so terrified...
Maan: kissiko dhoond rahi thi?
Geet nods her head... Nahi
Maan: mein kaise bhool gaya ki tum hamesha joot hi bolthi ho
Maan catches hold of her hands and looks at the bruises.. it's almost healed... Maan is relieved... He was worried she got hurt because of him.. accha toh haath teek ho gaya toh Maan ka kaam ho gaya.. he need not worry about her anymore.. Maan is happy and he lets her go...
Geet runs away from there as Maan keeps looking at her till she disappears from his sight.... Maan doesn't know that it's just the start and his journey with Geet would continue forever whether he likes it or not.....
