MSK seems to be a very territorial person..He could not handle a old geezer tailor taking her measurement, Could not see anyboby watch her backless blouse in Manali(Bunty episode) or watch Rahul touch her hand in Kurbaan Hua episode.........This speaks volumes about his possessiveness........It is easy to concur all is not merry with Dev having been intimate with her......inspite of his acceptance of the situation.....I this his mujhe farak nahin padta.....is just to convince himself......He is yet to face his inner feelings regarding it.

@Silver Poise: Somewhere even I am not hopeful that they will show a meaningful conversation, something similar to the tent episode. Dev and Geet's dialogues were crap yesterday.

Today, I think it was the self smugness that turned Geet off. I was definitely turned off by that over confident, preemptive dialogue, dunno about the others. I actually felt that he has started to take her for granted as well- no matter what he does, she will eventually cave in!

Sure they do & hence they end up disappointing the one they addressing to this is natural & normal.
As to the 'self smugness' part ...well as u mentioned its a matter of perspective to me it was more to do with his being happy & 'confident' in her love for him that he knew will make her come & thats what he mentioned. To me rather her reply was a turn off...to each their own as they say

I am going to be a bit lazy, and quote wiki to you, Nandita...but I hope you do get the intent

Jealousy: Jealousy refers to the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that occur when a person believes a valued relationship is threatened by a rival. A jealous person experiences anxiety about maintaining support, intimacy, and other valued qualities of her or his relationship. Given that attachment relates to anxiety regulation, support, and intimacy, as discussed above, it is not surprising that attachment also relates to jealousy.

possessive:
adj.
1. Of or relating to ownership or possession.
2. Having or manifesting a desire to control or dominate another, especially in order to limit that person's relationships with others: a possessive parent.
3. Grammar Of, relating to, or being a noun or pronoun case that indicates possession.

Why would a well balanced, well adjusted individual react to a situation and display the above mentioned behaviour?

I think I am going to have to write and stop being so lazy...just to get my point across..

Why would you be possessive about someone? As I understand the word possessive- it means a desire to own or control another human being. Its only when I am insecure and I feel that I may lose him/her will I lay claim to another being. What kind of love would prompt someone to lay siege on another beings identity?

btw: She also told him on their almost SR, that she cant believe that she is married to him or that she is lying in his arms!

My net is bit slow hence late replies

Going by dictionary is very my thing so don't worry.

Firstly we were discussing Possessiveness & Insecurity ...and Jealousy is a totally different word both in context & situation.

Jealousy comes when a person is envious of that which is another's & he wishes to possess.
Who does Geet belong to here, Maan or Dev that Maan should be 'jealous' of Dev!

Insecure & Possessive I still get, but Jealously totally wrong word ... my pov.

Its not about a
well balanced, well adjusted individual but about a relationship that sure is not balanced & hence misunderstandings arrive from every nook & corner.

@Nandita: Well those 3 are intricately related....

Lets take the tailor incident- there seems to be a consensus on this thread itself (will wonders ever cease) that that was Maan being possessive. How did we garner that, because he was jealous of tailor touching his mate! Possessiveness and jealousy- very much related! Thats why most of the viewers mocked the episode, since under no condition would one expect a man of Maan's bearing to be jealous of an old tailor.

Maan's one line uttered a long time ago- "Mujhe to laga tum sirf meri ho" to me very elouqently captures his possessiveness and insecurity(sirf meri ho part)
