As far as I remember, he told her he was in a tight-spot, there was no mention of money or his gambling debt being the reason why he took advantage of Geet. As a woman, I can relate to why she was so upset. Finding out her bestfriend has such low respect for women that he trashed Geet's life because of his own careless mistakes...
