Part 34:
Kripa opened her eyes around 8 and figured she was all alone in the room. Silence echoed in the room. No shower running, the TV was off, she could hear her breathing as clear as never before. Where was Angad? She checked the whole suite but didn't find him. A sudden knock on the door startled Kripa out of her senses. She peeked through the keyhole to find a grinning aliyah.
Aliyah: Hi Kripa!....bhai kahan hai?....
Kripa(sadly): um...i dont know where he is Aliyah...he is not here....
Aliyah(trying not to giggle): oh....accha koi baat nahi...ek kaam karte hai....hum thodi si shopping kar ke aate hai...tab tak bhai shayad vapas aa jayenge...koi kaam se gaye honge....
Kripa: shopping?...are haan....shopping se yaad aaya...mujhe Angad ke liye ek gift khareedna tha...he has been such a great husband, give me half an hour....i'll get ready...
Aliyah: alrighty!....i'll chill here.......
Kripa went to take her shower and get ready while Aliyah quickly dialed a number.
Aliyah(whispering): hello...yea its me....im bringing her at 12. Everything set?...no...she is not suspecting anything!.............Alright....I will see you later!
After half an hour, Kripa came out completely ready, dressed in a plain black top and white jeans. Aliyah looked at her from head to toe.
Aliyah: o come on Krips!...thats not how you're gonna dress...
Kripa: why not? we're just going shopping...whats wrong with this?
Aliyah: um...lets see.....just about.........EVERYTHING! you look hot in that too but I mean....c'mon....its your parents-in-law's anniversary today.....don't wear usual clothes today.....make it something special...this is their first anniversary while you are with them.....
Kripa(rolled her eyes): ok ok....fine!
Kripa went back into her room and came back in no time changed into a white top and black skirt outfit. Aliyah rejected just about any combination Kripa put on.
Kripa(frustrated): ok aliyah....if not all these...then what do you want me to wear?
Aliyah: i dont know....dress?
Kripa: um no...i have something better in mind...
Kripa went back in again and this time took longer to come out. When kripa stepped out, Aliyah was stunned seeing Kripa looking so elegantly beautiful in a red sari. it was a plain red sari with light silver work on the borders and heavy silver bead work on the pallu.
Kripa: how is this?...
Aliyah: perfect...the indian traditional sari!.....you look really nice in that....now lets go? we're getting late....if bhai comes back...we won't be able to go shopping...
Kripa and Aliyah went shopping just like they did before kripa came back to India and her life changed forever. Both recalled the special moments in Canada that they had spent together. After turning the whole mall upside down, Kripa and aliyah decided on a silver ring with a single diamond in the center.
Aliyah: ok Kripa..i am famished!.....lets go eat...
Kripa: lets go where?...there is food court in the mall ali..
Aliyah: i feel like eating mexican......there is no mexican restuarant here.....Josh told me there was one around here...lets go...
Aliyah and Kripa drove to the "Mexican Restaurant". Aliyah and Kripa were about to walk in the door when Aliyah "remembered" something.
Aliyah: Oh god!...i think i forogt to lock the driver seat's door....Kripa....you go in and order....you know my favourite!...i'll go check on the car...
before Kirpa could protest or say anything, Aliyah had already ran off towards the Parking lot. Kripa walked in the door and surprisingly, found it really quiet inside. She saw a hall leading towards another door. She guessed behind the door was the "restaurant". As Kripa approached the door cautiously, she felt someone following her very quietly. Kripa stopped pretending to look for her cell phone. When she felt the figure getting closer to her, She made a quick move, grabbed the follower's arm, twisted it and had him pushed up against the wall leaning on his chest..
follower: Ouch!
Kripa: Oh my god!...Angad!.....tum? I am so sorry...i thought someone was...
Angad: its ok...I shouldn't have followed you like that...but Kripa.....where did you get so much force and power from?
Kripa(turned red from embarrasment): erm...actually....i am a black belt in tai-kwon-do....
Angad's eyes popped out at hearing his wife being a black belt at a defensive martial art.
Angad: now i know...not to get u angry at all......you can punch me dead anytime.....i just fight..im no black belt...
Kripa: nah...i wouldn't kill you...you would still be too strong for me......By the way.....subah se kahan the tum?...kuch bina bataye chale gaye?
Angad: oh..woh actually...mein jab utha ta...tab tum araam se so rahi thi...to meine socha yun hi ghoom aata hoon..
Kripa: kya angad...jaga diya hota na...kam se kam aaj to saath saath ghumne jaate
Angad: aaj?....aaj kya hai?....hum toh waise bhi saath saath ghumne jaate hai....anyways...I am hungry...lets go eat.
Angad started walking away with a smirk on his face upon seeing her expression when he talked as if he didnt care about spending time with her. Kripa frowned and followed after him. When they reached the door, Angad stood in front of it, blocking Kripa's view and way.
Kripa: ab aise kyun khade ho?...not hungry anymore? Or is it that....
Before Kripa could finish, Angad put his finger on her lips and shushed her.
Angad: I have something special for you....close you eyes...
Kripa closed her eyes, and angad put his palm on her eyes so she wouldnt peek. After entering Angad took off his hand off of her eyes.
Angad: you can open your eyes now....
Kripa stood at the door looking into a beautifully decorated room with red, white, and pink roses on the wall,heart shaped balloons of the same colors on the floor, a table covered in a white tablecloth with white chairs. There were also scented candles of the same colors all around the room. Kripa started at the heaven-like sight in front of her completely awestruck. All she saw was red, pink and white everywhere including Angad who was looking dashing in white.
Kripa: this is so beautiful...but how did all this...(Kripa looked at Angad who was staring at her with a big smile playing on his lips)...dont tell me....you did all this?
angad: no...of course I didn't...my neighbour's uncle's daughter's...
Kripa(whined): Angad........
Angad: ok ok sorry....
Kripa: so this is what you were doing all morning?
Angad just nodded sweetly at her enquiries.
Angad: but seems like you already knew...you're wearing red......matches with the color setting here...there goes my "surprise"
Kripa: oh this?..please...dont remind me!!....aliyah made me go through about every outfit I had until she decided on......wait a minute...she knew about this?
Angad: yea..she did...infact, josh, dhruv and anjali all helped me set up all of this....and Aliyah's car door was locked...she left you here...with me....you are stuck here with me...
Kripa: I am not stuck with you!...I am choosing to stay here...unless of course, you want me to leave.
Angad: Kripa...agar tumhe yahan se vapas bhej dene ka plan hota to phir ye sab kyun karta?
Kripa: oh...to koi aur plan hai?
Angad: um...yea....actually...i think i've delayed enough...hold on...can you get the fork please?
Kripa(raised her eyebrow): the fork?......dont even answer that..
Kripa turned around and walked to the table to grab a fork. When she turned around she found Angad kneeling in front of her with his head bent as if too scared to look at her. She knew it was coming. The moment both of them (and my readers) had been waiting for was about to come to them.
Angad(soft voice): Kripa...I won't write a long speech because one: I suck at saying rhymes and second: even a million words can't describe how much.....how much I LOVE YOU.
Kripa(expression-less face): Angad..get up...you're wearing white....dont kneel like that.
Angad got up a little worried at no response or no change in expression from her. she turned around and walked back to the table. Angad felt a pang in his heart as if he just lost everything that belonged to him. His heart on the verge of the break. he was so sure she felt the same way, otherwise, he would have never confessed his real feelings for her. Angad looked at the ring that he held between his thumb and index finger and closed his eyes as tears threatened to fall any second.
There you go guys. The confession. I kept my promise of having the confession by the end of this week.😳 Alright, I know i left you guys hanging at the same spot as the promo, but, couldn't really continue right now. And a lot of you asked about my friend. She wasn't sick. She has actually been through something horrible. She wants me to tell you guys the basic of her story so you guys don't make the same mistake as she did, which I highly doubt you will. She is staying over at my place for a week or two and for the next part, which is in blue, I will be writing what she says as she sits beside me!
