Marriage or nothing

She cleaned up her resume waking up at 4 AM on Monday morning and emailed it to him, asked him for tips on how to get referrals etc. They had a pleasant morning with no arguments. Dhru wanted Atty back at Chembur Monday night

Mrunalini joked about getting himself a 1BHK in Chembur

Mendy wanted them to go over for dinner the following weekend, when he FT Atty he was surprised and not so surprised to see Mrunalini

Mru though declined the invite because she realized Lynn probably would not want to see her

“are u closer dude?”

“To what?” Atty whispered as he stepped out with Dhru in tow to drop him off at the bus stop

“Getting married aur kya man?”

“Nope… but she is fine to visit and she is fine if I stay over”

“tell ur parents and get it over with”

“She is deathly afraid”

Silence…

“It cant be that bad na” Mendy groaned

“I am not sure any more” Atty walked holding Dhru’s hand tight, as cars leaving the society honked loudly

“End her misery and tie the knot man”

“I know… how can u forcibly marry someone”

“Bring Kim K and see how I do it”

Atty laughed

“U cant do that… u know what I mean?”

“Tell ur parents she is it, and u wont be wasting any more time”

“I have………….. multiple times, different ways”

“Then u have to decide if you want to forever be running back and forth with the begging” Mendy sounded blunt

Atty hugged and waved to Dhru and paused and sighed

“What do u mean?”

“Tujhe use kar rahi hai, tu use use kar raha hai” “Man… think abt it” Mendy was irritated

“I get it dude… stop” Atty was irriated too

“U better be careful man… umm.. u know… u don’t want another baby do u?”

This thought had crossed Attry’s mind 100s of times

They both were using protection

But there were no guarantees as they knew it

“I wouldn’t mind another kid” Atty sulked

“Shaadi kar mann!!”

“U are making the universe to force some choices upon u, ur parents will throw u out, her parents never wanted her, so you might become a good team”

“I mean seriously… this is the most messed up situation Ive ever seen”

“Did u wake up on the wrong side of the bed?”

“Whatever mann!!” “Gotta go… u chill aight?

“Hang on Mendy”

“Just do SOMETHING”

“Umm” his belly twisted into a knot

“thanks for kicking me in the gut” he sighed

“I knew that… I was refusing to admit it. Its amazing living with her man!!” Atty was wistful

He made his way back to the apartment, she looked stunning in her work saree, she was trying take off her left earring, with the post of the new one stuck between her lips

“U took the long route?” she asked curiously

He chuckled
